Me: I guess I was technically homeless for awhile as a kid, but we weren't, like, really homeless? After we got evicted from our rental house, we had to stay in a small industrial warehouse that was being rented for storage by some family friends. Like, it sucked, and I wasn't allowed to go outside, and it was a huge secret I had to keep from everyone at school because my parents were terrified I'd be taken away by CPS, and if the cops or property owner had found us we definitely would have been in trouble, but, like. We had a roof over our heads. Does that count as homeless? I dunno.

My friends who have genuinely never been homeless, ever: ....that is not normal, holy shit!?!?!?!?!

Me: ...okay so I guess I was homeless, then.

Anyway, this is a reminder that homelessness encompasses more than just "lives in a box under an overpass." Like, yes, that is definitely a real experience with homelessness, but it isn't the only one. Homelessness can look like couch surfing, living in your car, living illegally in a rented storage unit, living in a tent at a campground, living in a motel room, or any number of other things.

(Also, impostor syndrome around homelessness is just about the weirdest feeling in the world, tbh. The "was I suffering enough to say I was suffering?" thoughts are eternal.)

I knew a girl who would sit on Google hangouts and actively threaten other girls with violence for them saying they were in love with Justin Bieber. Like. Obsessively go through and find every profile she could of other girls saying they loved him, and telling them she was going to kill them because "he's hers". I only know this happened because she would do this at school on the computers and i watched her do it before the school blocked our access to Google hangouts.

She also decided to relentlessly bully me, to the point she continued to do so after I left the school she attended via Facebook. Unprompted. Literally out of the blue just sent me to this day some of the most nasty messages I've ever been sent by someone I literally never even talked to.

I was not able to listen to him for years because of this cause it just made think of her.

As an adult, ten years later, I really hope she got the help for whatever she was going through that made her feel the need to do that. I think she was really suffering with something, and I hope she healed from that.

After having songs I listen to pretty music everyday blocked because a company decided to block it from my country on YouTube (despite the fact I am from the same country in which the band lives and operates their music business) I have decided I will be collecting music again because I will be damned if I can just one day not be allowed to access the single most important type of media in my life.

I do not care how far I have to go to obtain the music I listen to. I will properly own the music I listen to if it means that I do not have a company blocking my access to the things I consume every single day.

The only reason I stopped collecting CDs was because I could not afford to do so, and because YouTube offered me a free alternative to listening to music to buying CDs.

So.

Since I can afford a micro SD, a CD player for my laptop, and to purchase CDs, I will be doing so so that I can freely listen to what I want, when I want and not worry that a company can just... Take my access to entire discographies away.

And before anyone asks, it's a universal block by this company on YouTube so even if I paid for YouTube premium, I couldn't listen to the artists I wanted anyways. And I use YouTube because there are artists on there that are not on other streaming services (such as the people who make the Vocaloid and UTAU music I listen to)

I do not know where I will store the physical CDs but that is a bridge I will cross when I get there. Because music is the number one most important media/form of art to me.

25 artists that I listen to regularly are not available on YouTube because there is a dispute between what SESAC wants YouTube to pay license fees, and what youtube wants to pay SESAC to license music.

That is just what I was able to find off of one thread about this.

And YouTube just upped their subscription prices.

So.. yeah. I am going to be collecting music again because fuck this.

Someone in a local group was asking to borrow physical therapy items for her disabled child. The things that look like toys but are used for pt with kids. I pointed them in the direction of disabled aid groups in the area. Then I get a messaged from someone else saying they're a healthcare administrator and this person must be scamming because if their child needed the items, insurance would help them get it. I'm sitting here like what able bodied planet are you on!?

Honestly I don't care if she's scamming or not. I'm not giving her stuff because I don't have it. I feel confident the disability aid groups can tell if someone is scamming. Like damn, leave me alone. You don't understand disability stuff just because you work in healthcare..... admin.
