You're the one that needs to educate yourself. Skinheads are racists my dear. You need to seriously reevaluate what you are supporting.

Yikes. People like you, who have no idea what the fuck they are even saying, and are even too lazy to put the slightest bit of effort into stepping away form their small minds are the worst.

I actually refuse to be some sort of wikipedia and educate/discuss with people who aren’t open to any other ideas but your own. But my annoyance for ignorant people who STILL have this mindset and just believe anything that you’ll hear on the tv, like you do, over shadow.

I’ve been to hundreds of Oi, skinhead reggae, street punk and ska shows since I’m 17 years old. I’ve met so many skinheads, rude boys and mods from all over the world. Some of my closest friends are skinhead and I can tell you. None of them are racist, or better said, they are all Anti-racist.

Yes. There are boneheads who call them self skinheads who ruined this beautiful subculture and do not deserve the skinhead name. THEY ARE NOT SKINHEADS.

I could give you a million examples of Skinheads fighting racism, fascism, or any kind of nationalism and there are sooooo many skinhead bands out there that fight racism. Here’s just a small list of examples

The male rebel or outsider is a character that appears time and time again in fashion imagery - that’s why so many designers and image-makers have Nick Knight’s ‘Skinhead’ on their book shelf as a reference. It’s the same reason Larry Clark’s ‘Kids’ is a constant inspiration. There’s something about the sense of insouciance, authenticity and freedom that is characterised by the ’bad boy’, to use a cliché, that appeals to makers and designers. I explored this in January 2016 when curating Mad About The Boy, an exhibition that considered fashion’s obsession with the teenage male and the different way the boy is presented in select images and collections. The show featured a sound piece where different men talked about their upbringing and their idea of youth. Charlie Porter, David Sims, Gosha Rubchinskiy, Dylan Jones, Glen Luchford, Peter Saville, Alex Bilmes, Nasir Mazhar and Ben Kirchhoff all took part, as did Nick. Speaking of the Skinhead series he said, ‘I guess I wanted to protest or rebel against the liberal upbringing I had - whatever upbringing you’ve had you always want to rebel against it.’ He also mentioned that it was about, ‘Rights of passage - finding out who you are.
