Are You Still Without Secret Santa Gift?

@nathvods I may have slightly misinterpreted your request for “Toby and Aaarrrgghh decorating a Christmas tree (or other characters if you feel up to it)”. You know those netted Christmas lights they make for bushes?
December was wild so it didn’t come out quite as intricate as I had hoped, but I’m still reasonably happy with it. I hope you like it, and thanks to @trollhunterssecretsanta for organising the event!
My secret santa Trollhunter gift for @magic-and-moonlit-wings Apologies that its a bit late, I’ve been away from connection for most of the day. But here it is! Hope you enjoy, it was fun to make and write!
Merry Christmas!
Deck the Trolls
Jim watched as Nomura carefully wound Christmas lights and tinsel around Draal’s horns in intricate spirals. Draal sat so the changeling could reach the magnificent crown of horns, but his quiet was vaguely worried and unsure. Nomura was almost dancing with glee as she pirouetted around him again.
“Are you certain this is a human Krees-moose tradition?” Draal inquired plaintively. Nomura didn’t stop to answer, so Draal resigned himself to his fate.
An additional weight to Jim’s own head encouraged him to glance up into the warm and welcoming brown eyes of his girlfriend.
“Hey.”
“Hey yourself.” Her voice was soft and she looked somewhat sleepy.
“Long day?” She hummed in response, but didn’t really answer. Jim took another sip of the new type of glug that had been making its way through New Trollmarket. It didn’t seem like it would send his head spinning if he had too much, but he figured better to err on the side of safety. It did taste remarkably like a strange cross between coffee and hot chocolate.
Must be the lumberjack socks. Or maybe the coffee cans?
He mentally shrugged and finished off the cup. He also considered biting it, but decided that his mother wouldn’t be happy to lose one of her good hot chocolate mugs.
The thought directed his gaze around the room in search of the woman. Jim nearly guffawed when he saw her crashed in questionable comfort against Strikler’s shoulder. The other changeling looked extremely uncomfortable, as his relationship with Barbara was still rough at best. But he had managed to tuck a fuzzy blue blanket around them both and Jim was certain he had a hand around her waist too.
“Claire.” The girl still slumped on his head hummed again. “Look at my mom.”
He felt her shift, the nap of her sweater tickling the fur on his neck. A moment later he felt the vibrations of her gentle giggling and joined in with his low rumble.
A force jammed his head forwards and down, making Claire squeak in surprise. But the voice of NotEnrique rang out stridently.
“Sis, ‘wot the ‘eck are ya doing? You ain’t no troll. ‘S cold down here. Bundle up!” Jim felt the swish of another blanket as it enveloped Claire’s back.
“Mmmm, thanks hermanito. You’re adorable when your doing mushy, lovey-dovey stuff.”
“No I ain’t!” His rejoinder was all bluster as he slipped off of Claire’s back and down to Jim’s shoulder. Jim hardly noticed his slight weight.
“Cragglesnags!”
The expletive drew the trio’s attention back to the corner of the room with the elegantly festooned Draal. The magenta troll was holding the string of lights in both hands but her attention was directed back at Blinky and Aaarrrgh! who had been in charge of the flow of the strand so Nomura could continue to decorate easily. They must have gotten distracted at some point because what had been an orderly mass of Christmas decor had turned into a snarl of wire and electricity that would have made a sailor jealous.
Blinky was four arms deep in the knot, while Aaarrrgh! was delicately holding several loops to keep them out of Blinky’s way. The teal troll handed him another as they watched and set to his task with all the severity of a research night.
Jim gently shook his head at his father, careful not to dislodge the dozing Claire. It was probably one of the oddest Christmases he’d ever had the privilege to participate in. But but it felt oddly right, like all the puzzle pieces slotted together neatly.
It felt good and it felt like home.
“Hey, Claire?”
“Yeah Jim?”
“Merry Christmas love.”
“Merry Christmas to you too.”

Trollhunters Secret Santa for @endlessnightarts
They said they’d want is something shippy for Nomura/Draal, but I couldn’t stay away from the angst….sorry.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
@thelovelydeer! Merry @trollhunterssecretsanta!
I picked the Angor Rot/Dictatious prompt bc I thought there’s less cute art of them around than Blinky/Arrrgh! and I love rarepairs.
I kind of based the idea off of how quietly awed even Gunmar is seeing the stars after so long in the Darklands, but of course by that point Dictatious is almost completely blind and the sky probably just looks like a big blur to him. So I thought it would be very cute if Angor brought some constellations down closer for him.
Happy Holidays @bunnikkila / @bunnikkila-draws! I’m your SS for @trollhunterssecretsanta! Hope you have a good one. <3

The group had stopped for a short break. Walking all night, though they found shelter to rest in the day, was tiring, especially when she was the only human there. Jim got tired too, but not as easily as her. He had even been keeping his distance from her to an extent. It confused her to no end.

Local (mostly) reformed troll man having very hard time calming down now that things are (sort of) safe again. He’s uhhhh got a glamour or something that allows him to look human again, but it doesn’t mask who he is as well as the changeling form did, and now dogs hate him.
Trollhunters Secret Santa 2018, I got @diabeticjimlake a.k.a. @Annieisyourfavourite!! They asked for Strickler protecting Barbara, and Barbara falling in love all over again. I went with a more mundane “protecting”, cause after all that world-ending nonsense, it’s the little things that are important to Ms. Lake.
My gift for you!!!
here is my gift for my secret Santa!!! Happy Holidays @golden-masquerade
When Gunmar woke up and looked around, he was confused. In one moment, he was in the rooftop of the museum of Arcadia, in the other, he was surrounded by trees in a place he couldn’t figure out where it was. How in the Dark Lands did he get there?!
Like lightning in the storm, the last thing he saw came back to his mind. The trollhunter cutting him with the eclipse blade, he remembered the burning pain of the sword cutting his skin and the movement getting rigid and limited, until he couldn’t feel anything anymore and blacked out. He must have died, it would be the best explanation.
But if he died, where was him?
Gunmar got to his feet, a little weak, and walked around. The surroundings seemed incredibly familiar to him as if he had been there before, but when? Too focused on his thoughts, Gunmar crashed into a tree. As he stumbled back and looked at the tree, he saw it had some markings he knew all too well. there was a mark that represented him, a sword with a drop falling from it, and another below his, a bottle with a diamond inside, the second one was a little burned, they were connected by two curved lines. Those marks were his and from his mate, the one he most felt attracted to, and if those where there that must mean…
Gunmar rushed passed that tree heading north, each step he started remembering everything every single detail was there in front of him. So many memories he treasured were displaying in front of him, many past times where he was in his happiest and on the edge of his youth.
Finally, he arrived where he wanted, a cave on the side of a mountain. Human bones were scattered around the front and inside were shiny weapons, crystals, and torches. He approached and entered, in the very back of the cave, there was a vision he couldn’t believe.
His dearest mate was there laying on the middle of the pile of fabrics that were their nest, Haupra looked up when she heard Gunmar’s footsteps, her eyes widened when she saw her mate in front of her. “Gunmar…”
“Haupra…” the female got up, smiling widely as they walked towards each other. They held each other in the center of the cave and touched foreheads, Gunmar whispered with his eyes closed: “I thought I would never see you again…”
“I’m glad you’re here! I’ve waited so much for this moment… Bular will be so happy to see you!”
Gunmar took a step back, she was right! If this was the afterlife, then his son had to be there!
It didn’t take long before another familiar voice echoed in the cave, Gunmar turned on his heels when he heard it. And there he was.
Bular stood in the edge of the cave, he had dropped his hunt in the floor and ran colliding and sending him and his father rolling through the cave, only stopping when they crashed into the wall. The young troll held his father tight, as the elder messed his son’s mane.
“My son… For centuries I’ve waited to see you again… Look at how much you have grown…”
“Father…” Bular purred, he was so happy that he could almost feel tears in his eyes. “I am so glad that you’re here!… Wait…” Suddenly Bular realized, if his father was there, so shortly after he died, that could only one thing. “Did you… Did you lose?”
Gunmar looked at his son, that was now looking up at him, the warlord couldn’t lie and wouldn’t have any reason to, not to his kin. He was always true to them since Bular was just a whelp, he never hid anything from him. Now, Gunmar was forced to swallow his pride, and with a sigh he said:
“Yes, I lost our war… I am sorry Bular.”
He was firstly disappointed because Bular thought his father was invincible, secondly, he was surprised because Gunmar almost never called his son by his name. It was the first time in almost a thousand years.
He shook his head to focus.
“I’m guessing the trollhunter was the one. Correct?” He asked his father as he stood up, much calmer than Gunmar expected.
“Yes.”
“Well… Then at least I know I didn’t lose to someone as weak as I thought! If the child could kill you, then he was worth something!” Bular sat back with the biggest grin on his face. “Now tell me, how exactly did you die?”
“What if we discuss it over food?” Gunmar suggest gesturing to the human bodies his mate was now bringing closer, his son accepts and they start eating. Haupra and Bular listened carefully as he told the story, stopping a little to eat another piece of the humans. “And that’s it… I think I should have asked first, but… How can you kill someone in the afterlife?”
Bular swallowed an arm before he answered.
“Well, I don’t know. I don’t actually care. Their delicious and their everywhere.”
The family exploded in laughter, Gunmar almost chocked in the arm he was eating. He was so happy that he was there. Who cares about an army, war, or just the dumb surface? That war took more from him that he had expected, it took his mate, his son, his life. Now, after losing everything, he had a chance to start over, to be the husband and father he actually wanted to be.
He got closer to his son and mate, he stood between the two then wrapped an arm around Bular’s neck and Haupra’s waist, pulling them closer to himself. Both were caught off guard and accidentally fell backward, the cave erupted with laughter.
“Alright!” Gunmar said excitedly “Let’s try this again!!”
Both snuggled closer to him, this was going to be the beginning of a great eternity.
Hope you liked it!!
Merry Christmas!!!
