Two articles a week: 5 & 6
The first article I read this week was from Good Fucking Design Advice. The article, "How Design is helping the world become a better place" is about exactly what the title describes. What I personally took away from the article was that the role of a designer is once again becoming important. I say once again because there was a time, around the 1920's when the Bauhaus really became prevalent and people started not only noticing the new industrial design developing, but the attention to detail and the high notion that design matters. Because when design matters, we make beautiful and important things and that is what is happening now. Because of the green movement and the awareness of global warming as well as the big ass island of plastic garbage floating in the ocean design matters again. We're solving these big problems with design.
The second article I read, "Have a Fucking Vision" is about ideas, how to plan and implement them. Wether they are small or big ideas, we need to plan and get behind them the right way. We also need others to get behind ideas and this article is about how to do all of those things and more!
