Little joy #n: Tomorrow I get to interview a health reporter for my thesis whose works I’ve read a lot. Sobrang *eep!* fangirling. I didn’t expect her to email me because I requested for an interview with her editor hoping the editor would eventually lead me to her after. But she messaged me. <3 Better prepare decent questions! Huuuuu

Terrible de ja vu.

But I do feel like Siya yun. At least, I hope it is. I’m scared to disobey if Siya yun. I’m back where I am from 2 weeks ago and am resorting to what I found successful from then. When he brought up suicide I kept trying to talk him out of it, but failed to make him feel better or change his mind. What saved him, I know this for sure, was me finally taking a step back and letting Him move. He saved him. It was His hands, His work. And that’s what made me find the strength to let go completely.

13 days later, she sends me a message that’s almost similar in point. Or I hope not. I really hope not. But I prayed. I knew He could. I KNEW HE COULD. If anyone has the most power, Siya yun. I’ve seen Him work in others. I’ve seen Him stop them. I’ve felt Him heal me and change me. He can with her. I prayed before doing anything. And afterwards asked Him if I should message her back. He told me to hold it for awhile and let Him talk to her. He told me to trust Him. It was confusing. I said I wasn’t sure if I was hearing his voice or not, so I made a deal that if I could somehow reach Faith tonight to give me the password to my facebook account I’d send her the letter I wrote. I said i was leaving the situation up to Him and that if He really wanted me to talk to her tonight, He’d let me contact Faith so I can get the password, and He’d at least let me send that message. But I couldn’t contact Faith. I couldn’t contact anyone. I didn’t have a peso of load to text her after I texted Faith. The text could have used imessage for Faith but didn’t, it used my regular load’s last peso. So now I have to sit patiently and faithfully till morning, trusting He has this. I know He does because I prayed immediately after her text and trusted He was in control. Please hold her, Lord. Take hold of her, heart and thoughts. Speak to her like you’ve spoken to all the others, speak to her like you speak to the broken-hearted, speak to her like you’ve spoken to me the past few days. I know you can and you will, because mahal na mahal na mahal Mo siya.

Remember, you prayed for this. He has a reason for letting things turn out this way. Stop being so afraid of great things, of difficult things, of embarrassing yourself, of messing up because you have to realize those things will help you grow. Those things will help your faith. Those things will help you seek Him more. You weren’t meant to be stuck or hidden. Let go and trust His plans. Give Him your heart. Everything. Then, dive.

and when you forget that you are loved, loving also becomes more difficult.

when you forget that you are forgiven, you also forget why you must forgive. Pain and hate are such suffocating traps.

Today my article got published on the front page of a major newspaper. My name was not on it, but I gained more than the recognition I wanted. Humility. A focused heart. Slap in the face that I’m not as incompetent as I always thought myself. Else the newspaper’s as incompetent as I am for keeping me, which I do believe it isn’t.

Humility. I’d put too much value on something I’d produced, that when credit was lost it hurt deep. I’m privileged to have learned so much, to have experienced so much, to even bear the paper’s name along my neck when I go around for interviews. A focused heart. Foolish little thing, easily swayed, easy to waver and forget its value. I am not what I write, I am not what I make, I am not what I value in this world. He is what I should find my value in. Not the temporary. Slap in the face. I seriously don’t know how deeply I’ve allowed myself to believe I’m incompetent but, it is a difficult habit to break. I thank God for never giving up on me. I have so many opportunities I don’t deserve but still receive. When I receive all these great things from Him, how dare I not believe He’s equipped me for them? Hay, self. Hay. Self.

I am hopeful. I am hoping. I am surviving. I am here. You are with me. You are on Your throne. You are sufficient in my weakness.

Hindi ako iiyak.

Kasi hindi na basta basta sinasayang ang luha. Oo 70% water ako, pero akin yung 70% na yun. Hindi sa kaba, hindi sa takot, hindi sa kasinungalingang “hindi ko kaya”. Kaya ko.
