16 september 2024: lunar eclipse tarot spread

hello everyone! apologies for the disappearance, i went on a much needed vacation that re-grounded me.

tomorrow, the moon in pisces opposes the sun in virgo to form the harvest moon of the year. not only is this a super moon where the our satellite is closer to earth than average due to it’s orbit, but it’s the first eclipse in the virgo/pisces set that shifts the lunar nodes.

arriving just before the fall equinox, this eclipse is pulling us in opposite directions: virgo wants to stay clear-headed and focusing on the tangible realities while pisces wants to float in a hazy daydream with illusions. virgo is a critical and analytical sign that prefers to look at the facts first while pisces likes to play tricks and swims in a world of their own. together, they have a strong alliance to help you make the connection (and differences) between what's reality and what's fantasy.

we'll have one foot on earth and one foot in a different realm this week, as these two forces shift our perspectives. the most important thing to focus on is your self-perception and how you are choosing to navigate this world. are you hard on yourself because you strive for perfection? are you indulging more in your dreams because you don't want your current reality? the mutable energy will ask us to surrender our perfectionism and release our unrealistic fantasies to focus on our path ahead. you're allowed to dream big and dream often during this time, but you have to remember to come back down to earth. this full moon will help you with that.

what dreams do you need to let go? dreams that are dead, metaphorically speaking. this feels like a very clear-cut answer (shocking, right?) from the deck today. there are some dreams you are fighting for a chance to revive, but the pulse has long been gone and you’re struggling to accept that. let the clarity of virgo season cut through the fantasies of pisces and allow you to come back to the present.

what dreams can you still hold on to? the ones that can lead you to a more stable and secure life. you have had plans on how to become more independent and self-sufficient, whether emotionally or physically, and you have the chance to continue working on them. the difficulties of the past are over and you can dedicate your time and energy to moving forward without the dead weight of past dreams. you’re close to your goals, you just have to invest in the right dreams.

how can you ground yourself? by planning ahead. you’ve shed the dreams that no longer serve you, and you’ve decided to hold on to the dreams that can push you forward. now it’s time to take those first steps in the journey towards your goals. with each step you take you’ll feel the hard earth beneath you and remember why you chose this path in the first place. let the earthly virgo energies pull you back into reality.

4 august 2024: new moon in leo

yesterday, the sun and the moon met in passionate leo. this new moon comes just days before the lion’s gate portal on 8/8, so the energies of the lion will continue for the next several days as we progress through the season.

leo is a fiery spirit that encourages us to be our most authentic selves and be proud of it. we are shining our lights and telling the world “this is me”. in order to feel supported in this, we have to continue to surround ourselves with people who will uplift us and our true selves. leo is creative and inspired and determined. we want to fill the blank pages of our notebooks with ideas; we want to messy our rooms with paints and pens and music and light. we want to dance to our own beats and heal our inner child.

new moons are new beginnings; so take this as a chance to re-invent yourself and dive deeper into who *you* truly are. let go of your fears and the trust that you are capable of doing whatever you sey your heart to. “i can”: this is your mantra for the new moon. self-love begins with self-forgiveness from your past mistakes and self-awareness that you are able to push your limits. every day is a new step to take. as long as you make it further than you did yesterday, you are moving forward and progressing.

25 july: mercury enters virgo

mercury has returned to his second home of virgo as the sun entered his home of leo. the harmonizing energies of these planets returning to their place of domicile encourages us to take the best qualities these signs have and usher in a new wave of commitment to our goals.

mercury is the courier of the gods, traveling across the realms with free reign to deliver messages all over. he represents our intellectual thoughts and how we want to think. he rules over communication and travel in our daily lives, as well as modern technology and commerce. his mutable energy is detail-oriented and precise in his calculations, but his perfectionism can be his downfall.

in virgo, mercury wants to run. he reminds us that we have to work for our success and maintain that commitment as we shift towards the end of summer. we are inclined to pay attention to the smaller details and focus on organizing our tasks into checklists.

22 july 2024: leo season

the sun is welcomed home in the mighty lion, ready to shine and conquer after resting in peaceful cancer. this is an auspicious time of year as the sun is cycling through the sign she rules, amplifying positive and bright energies. we emerged from the waters of cancer and can now bask in the warmth of summer.

leo is the first fire sign of the year, and he wants to play in the flames as long as he can. he likes pushing the boundaries of what’s possible because he wants to be the best that there is. he is also a fixed sign, stubborn in his ways but only because he wants to have fun on his terms. like other fixed signs he can sometimes be too narrow-sighted to see the big picture because he is focusing on the best course of action in the current moment. leo rules the fifth house as he is a unique individual who encourages all of us to be authentically us.

in tarot, leo is associated with strength in the major arcana. strength symbolizes courage and determination, two attributes the sign of leo exhibits. strength also can symbolize patience and self-control, two attributes that can sometimes be overlooked in leo by others. the lion is a majestic and fearsome creature, not afraid to speak his mind and walk on his own path. he bows to no one and will lead himself with pride.

when i think of leo, i think “work hard, play harder”. he is an active zodiac sign that wants to get the work done because they know on the other side they will be rewarded. the lion is a very strong personality, so don’t be afraid to try new things and be the most authentic version of yourself.

20 july 2024: mars enters gemini

tomorrow, mars will reawaken his strength as he shifts from grounded taurus to independent gemini. in taurus, we’ve been able to slow down and practice patience while planning. taurus is determined and ambitious, but practical and stable. in gemini we will be envisioning our journey and taking the next steps. as an air sign the twins are craving movement and excitement in their spheres, but that’s because they see change as progress.

mars will be motivated and excited in gemini, wanting to quench his curiosity with multitasking and rapid waters. there will be no doubt that our everyday lives will feel quick with the step and full of to-do lists. it’s important to remember that while we are active in our goals, we also have to be mindful of our energies and ensure we don’t over-exert ourselves.

- while mars is in gemini, on august 4th venus will enter virgo. pay attention to the way you treat others during this time.

- on august 15th, mars will square saturn retrograde in pisces. take that day to recognize that there are consequences to our actions and find the line between reality and fantasy.

- on august 22nd, we will enter virgo season and that is the day that mars and venus will square. that will be a day to take rest and relaxation more seriously to ease any anxiety that is bubbling up.

- on september 2nd, we have a new moon in virgo (squaring the gemini energies) and mars will square neptune retrograde in pisces. this is a time for renewal; reset your mind and body to prepare for mars entering cancer on september 4th.

mars in gemini can sometimes trigger anxiety with the fear of needing to accomplish every task and goal we assign ourselves, so be sure to take a page out of taurus’ book and rest when needed so you can continue. it’s a marathon, not a sprint.
