Punctuality was, normally, not one of her strongest assets. Even then, Noel always made it a point to arrive no later than ten minutes after she was expected (one of the reasons she’d set her alarm fifteen minutes forward) but, that hardly ever worked when her time on set was moved forward an entire hour, too. She was nearing on fifteen minutes late, and probably some major sucking up to do, not to mention a wounded pride. It was probably her first stroke of good luck that crashing into someone (and not just anyone) didn’t send coffee all down her front but instead missed her entirely. “It’s okay,” she replied in a short huff, eyes darting up to focus on Caroline’s face for longer than necessary. Still, every time she saw the girl, it felt exactly like the first time. Or quite possibly the last. “I wasn’t watching it, myself. You can have mine, though.” Her arm stretched out before her, holding out the drink that was most likely a carbon copy of what her – the actress had been drinking.
CAROLINE’S eyes darted down to her ex’s outstretched hand; if noel hadn’t changed her coffee order since the breakup, the cup in her hand contained the same drink as the one currently soaking the carpet. it took her a moment to process what noel was offering -- not that she hadn’t outright said caroline could have her drink -- and finally shook her head and pushed the cup away. ❝ no, no it’s -- it’s fine. i don’t have to be in makeup for another hour yet, i’m just -- early. keep it. ❞
