//@personaei and I were discussing how amazing Jocelyn Schitt is and how sheās not just the Roseās Fairy Godmother but also how she makes killer edibles š and now all I can think about is her bringing the Nanaimo bars after making a double batch but also the fact sheās probably made Magic Nanaimo bars and Madelyn eating two of them without realizing only to then just be completely stationary, staring at the wall, and Johnny and Moira not realizing right away whatās going on

//its been a crazy and emotional few days. My brother is officially married, I cried like 12 times, I broke a panic attack to go ride a horse and am currently getting a bit toasty
š Ā - For our muses to go out for ice cream/popsicles together
There were times, even after falling in love with this small town, that Maddy did miss life in the cities. Every night offered a selection of parties or outings, even just a trip to a mall. But here, in Schittās Creek, it means making oneās own fun. For most teens, including Madelyn, it means sneaking out the window (though she literally went out the door to the motel without even a question) and roaming the dark and quiet streets, usually ending up at the local mini mart for snacks before settling in the woods, the creek, the foot ball field, even an empty hotel room when the girl was able to snag a master key
āthere is something so nostalgic about this you know. Eating ice cream like this.ā Madelyn stated as she sat on the curb of the 7-Eleven, scooping out a dollop from her sundae: artificial vanilla, syrupy chocolate and birchwood dancing on her tastebuds āthe wooden spoon really locks in those childhood memories.ā
The Rose Familyās reactions when they think the town is sold
Lyric Starter Call. || @truly-maddyrose
āø» ā I don't want to face the truth; don't tell me what to do cause . . .Ā ā Leave it to her baby sister to know exactly who was on her mind as she stared off into space; and leave it to the same aforementioned baby sister to suggest she call him. ā I'm tired of being someone you could see right through.Ā ā
the girl couldnāt help sighing at her sisterās somewhat over dramatic answer regarding how she was doing after finally breaking off her engagement with Ted, a pity yes only at the thought they would be selling the town, never to see the city limitās again. A few months back, she would have though her sister indifferent to romantics, but that was another life time ago, when the two were barely friends and lucky to see each other a handful of time a year. Now, sharing a small motel room, the youngest Rose had learned just what made Alexisā tick, able to tell what she was thinking with the smallest of hand gestures and facial expressions.
āFine. Call him, Donāt call him. At the end of the day itās your life. At least you arenāt getting his hopes up and maybe things will work out with Muttā¦I meanā¦.youāre still seeing him right?ā

āAnd then he invited me to the creek for a bonfire this weekendā¦.well, that is until Mrs. Schitt told us to fill our social calendars on our own time. Please tell me youāre going?!ā
She had not expected to make friends during her first week at school, her parents having delayed her attendance after forgetting to enroll her into the public school system. Maddy knew she would be charting unfamiliar territory, going from rich and snobby influencers to run of the mill normal teens, sure she carried expectations of being a stuck up bitch, but it was refreshing to know they had open minds, and that for once she didnāt have to put on an act to fit in.
The cool night air brushed Madelynās cheeks as she sat on a decrepit picnic bench, book in her lap with the full moon as her only reading light. Strawberry baby hairs fell from the messy bun perched on top of her head, the teen brushing them out of the way as she took a sip from the can ofā¦.Drynk Time Pale Ale? She had not intended for the retro vending machine outside the motel room to dispense alcohol but it seemed fitting at the moment all things considering. Although, she had anticipated an off brand orange soda. Oh well, she couldnāt waste a dollar now that she had nothing to her name.
Madelyn now had doubts she would be able to survive here, optimism slowly fading after discovering their living accommodations, having their motel doors taken from the mayor, trying to keep her siblings from ripping each other apart over who slept in what bed, and the task of stifling a panic attack from her mother after misplacing the only big money possession she had been able to sneak out (minus the collection of wigs): a pair of diamond studs she later blamed the hotel employee of stealing. It wasnāt even day one in Schittās Creek and the teen felt as if she were going to implode.
The roll away bed Madelyn had been givenā¦no, force to take upon discovery that there were only two beds in the room intended for her and her two older siblings, had broken while she was sleeping, hurling the teen to the floor in a loud thump. And yet, her siblings did not even respond, dead to the world thanks to a pharmacy of meds now circulating their systems. With no chance of sleeping tonight, she figured it would be best to go out and get some air, hoping to relieve the heaviness and suffocation she felt more and more in her chest. How was she supposed to live like this? And more important for how long?
