look I have talked ad nauseum of how much I love the family dynamics of trumar and I never rly went into detail of why i think TruMar is so ?!?! ironic and also kind of a good way to close out a character arc
if we think 4 a second, Future Trunks is like the whole reason Marron exists in the first place --- literally came from a world where her mom and uncle litcherally killed everyone. I do think that when he did it he had no idea of the consequences of his own actions at all as we saw with Super bc ?! damn, thats crazy dawg. Imagine the woman who literally tortured and harassed u got married and had a kid and was a good guy in some alternate universe
I always think future trumar has a lot of angst, i mean it's kind of highkey built into it but it hurts my heart to think of for too long </3 Trunks is a good guy and idk if he could ever look at Marron and not be reminded of 18, although it's an endearing story to see one where he overcomes that hurdle.
Back to the main topic at hand with regular trumar, idk i think theres something kinda poetic about the fact that marron's existence is thanks to trunks like! awe! cute but also if you want to maybe look at it from a platonic sense it's cute bc he left himself a friend and maybe a gf or bf, distruckdicks loves a polycule
I just imagine that their relationship is kind of peace in the chaos yknow, like marron and trunks are chaotic in their own respects? Marron may be sheltered especially considering how she was in GT and I think that makes her want to like break out of her shell because why wouldnt she want to break out her shell, its like every come to jesus moment for kids with strict parents lol. Marron probably acted out in some regards but was relatively normal and I always see Trunks as the outlet for her to get out of her comfort zone.
like to her he has his whole life figured out? (this would, obv be GT Trumar not EOZ) hes got a nice job, hes got "power" or whatever and she's kind of floating along. I was thinking of the fic I translated where she says she uses her parents as a shield, and how susceptible she was to being molded and I thought! man, yeah she is. She's got her few quirks but she's just as lost as many ppl in their early 20s huh...
ands the dichotomy of that is Trunks def doesn't have shit figured out i always see him as a stressed out MESS of a character. You obviously see it in GT when he is babysitting Pan and Goku and it makes you think...man! poor guy LOL
i love to write them like frenemies, and to an extent they are., i think Marron is kinda jealous of him and i think he is of her for different reason. Marron is probably so in love with like, the world and everyone around her and life is great !! im happy to be here!! and Trunks on the other hand is gifted kid burnout and does not see the world in such a bushytailed wide eyed way so I think they bring each other some balance
idk I just think they are pretty neat...i imagine them getting together is always something along the lines of them meeting up after not having seen eachother for a while, maybe at a party or maybe moved to west city...I imagine Trunks and Marron arent nearly as close as Goten and Trunks or Goten and Marron, because, strictly speaking her Krillin and Goku are homies 4 lyfers even tho i do think vegeta begrudgingly like krillin
anyway yeah i think they'd meet up and atp I think mars probably like mid 20s, (I just always see it as a late bloomer romance, and give them both some experience under their belt) trunks by this point is maybe a bit more srs at work bc he's had one too many shareholder meetings go badly and bulma tightened the leash on him (shes priming bulla to take his place anyway) and I just see him turning into an emotionally constipated version of his dad...in this scenario mai and him are not together no more but thats ok ! trunks is just kinda jaded!! and I think marron just brings that energizer vibe to a function and idk he cant help himself w her shes kinda hard to say no to (and im gonna refer back to 18 in my previous lengthy trumar post and say that yeah, marron knows what shes doing bc her mom taught her how to get what she wants)
anyway its probably super weird at first bc like, they both like eachother to some extent but thats ur frenemy!! yall made fun of eachother whats going onnnn, now u make fun of eachother but also lowkey cant help urself from smiling bc awe! these dorks like eachother but their only way of expressing it is thru teasing.
idk i think Trunks accepts that hes screwed from the jump like i remember seeing this hc where it said "marron tells trunks that she used to have a crush on him and she laughs it off and trunks has no idea what to do with this information" i think its something along those lines!! I can see him tripping over himself trying to gain that lost affection back that he didnt even know he had and its v funny bc ik people love to depict him like this suave master but he's really not, he stumbles over everything and cannot for the life of him keep anything together.
Marron is probably like "wtf why does this guy keep trying so hard...kind a cringe...also kind of cute...." and I just raaaaah i eat it up so baD i just love seeing dorks being dorks and I think Marron prob will eventually just tell him "yo??? wtf??? what is happening???"

Trunks's profile, framed lovingly by the glow of the moon, turns away from the sky to face her. Any regret she has for disrupting that serene picture of him is instantly dispelled when his eyes, glittering like geodes in the night, catch hers.
The magic is soon just as gone when Trunks laughs through his nose, an abrupt exhale that to the untrained ear would sound sarcastic.
Marron has had many years to learn his mannerisms; to discern his soft edges from the sharp corners of his character, often being the one to sand down those angles.
Even as children, she knew that the conceit he put forward to the public was just a muted imitation of his father's prideful bearing.
Even as an adult, the innate mischief of his character bursts through in a wayward grin that makes her heart kick up her breast bone.
“Would you still love me if I turned into a giant ape?”
Feigning real consideration, Marron cups her chin and furrows her brow ponderously.
“Why not? You can scale the Empire building with me in your hairy clutches, like Ann and King King.”
Now he quirks up a heavy eyebrow, a gesture Marron has found attractive since she discovered what attraction is.
“Once again, I have no idea what you're talking about.”
Not everyone shares Marron’s penchant for classic black-and-white kaiju films, least of all a man who fights monsters in real life.
“But–” Trunks bolts up from his spot on a cliff far, far away from the city, where the artificial lights cannot subdue that of the night's own natural light. He extends a hand for her, hoisting her up as if she was as light as a daffodil being plucked from the ground. “I can take you to the highest tower. Just name the place and we'll go. No ape form required.”
It's moments such as this one when Marron is glad she has not yet mastered the ability to fly, so that she may be carried on her sweetheart’s back to the world's edge if she willed it, the wind brisk on her face and his warm body cushioning hers, slicing through the night sky like a comet set loose.
