Because, nothing makes me happier and nothing makes me sadder than you.
Nicole Krauss, The History of Love (via books-n-quotes)
The truth will set you free. But not until it is finished with you.
David Foster Wallace, Infinite Jest (via wnq-writers)
She wasnāt looking for a Knight - she was looking for a sword
Iāve heard many times before that I donāt need a knight in shining armour.
From anyone on the outside looking in thatās who youāve been. Youāve been the knight in shining armour always there to pick me up when I fall, to wipe the tears from my face and replace it with laughter and a smile.
But you knew all along I didnāt need a knight in shining armour. What I needed was a sword.
The first time I met you, you didnāt tell me I needed saving. You didnāt try to fight my battle for me. No. Instead you told me I owned the crown upon my head and that Iād been holding the sword all along.
Every day since that night youāve reminded me that all I need is to believe in myself not search for a knight on a white horse. Youāve given me the knowledge that I could fight any battle that came my way and that you would stand beside me not carry me through it but to help me see the strength I already had to carry myself.
Youāve taught me to see my own strength in all my weaknesses and embrace it to become the woman I want to be. My own knight in shining armour and the warrior that will conquer all her fears...To lead my own life and draw my own sword.
Nothing will ruin your 20ās more than thinking you should have your life together already.
Iām not everything I want to be, but Iām more than I was, and Iām still learning.
Charlotte Eriksson, Everything Changed When I Forgave Myself (via books-n-quotes)
Life is like an Ocean
You stand in the water.. waves of your past crash on the shore. Some times they leave a mark like an eroding rocky cliff face and some times they donāt leave a mark at all. A bubbly white foam that disapates and dissolves into the sand. Then you start to notice the waves in front of you. Little ripples than grow until they break and come crashing down. Sometimes the waves crash into you with such force youāre left thinking for certain youāll go under with the weight of them all.
But you donāt know your own strength. You get over the next big wave, the obstacle that stands in your way of the deep blue ocean. Just like life, youāre faced with more battles than one so sometimes after one big wave comes another and then thereās another straight after that one.
If you focus on these waves too much it becomes too much, too much pressure, too much panic and all too fast. How do you keep your head above the water with the fear of the next wave hitting you before youāre ready.
You pause.
Take a deep breath in and look up.. you see the calm thatās beyond all this chaos, you see the vast opportunities and open water that surrounds you. The reflection of the sun on the rippling water. The endless horizon is everything life can offer you.
Suddenly some of these waves arenāt so big.. and you break through them.. you venture out and each wave becomes less frightening.
Thatās life. Just like an ocean.
Sometimes I wonder if Iām really as strong as I think I am. Sometimes I have to sit back and look around, and make sure Iām not lying to myself. Sometimes I wonder if I was always this jaded, or if this is the result of all the hardships I have endured in such a short time.

I know itās all in good time.. but you canāt always wait for things to just happen. You have to get up, dust yourself off and go get it.
What do you feel?
Anxiety hurts. Depression makes everything dark. Heartache numbs you but guilt. Guilt kills me. Guilt brings on the anxiety, the depression, the heart ache and turmoil. It's the double ended knife, the walking on egg shells, fake pleasantries and the self-loathing. What's there to feel guilty about you ask? It's everything and nothing but mostly its living and it's dying.
- Notes from the darkness
It's hard to break the habit of giving everything to others, making plans around someone else's life and what would keep them happy. To make their every single interest yours so you can pour more love into their lives. But what about yours? Who's pouring love into your life if you're focused on someone else's? Learn to be who you are, love yourself enjoy to give back to you, make your life your own.
