ASOIAF Rideable Dragons recolours

Hello, everyone, I have something very exciting today , Ive been planning on doing these recolours for over a year, and I've finally had the time to do them. This is a recolour of a remesh of @janesimsten Rideable dragon mod.

Includes 29 swatches, i mostly kept to book canon; however, I used some creative liberties to avoid all the dragons looking the same. For dragons with unknown colours, I used fan art to pick them . I couldn't figure out how to get them to hatch through the egg so you have to get the dragons via debug. I've also included the Photoshop files if you want to make your own swatches :)

Almost Out - candle set

I have been browsing SketchFab again, looking for inspiration and models I could use with Creative Commons.

I came across this candle by Dumokan Art, and it inspired me to make a little set where the candle is about to burn out; really good for storytelling I assume!

(tried to make the above GIF to demonstrate what I mean 😅)

Or just normal décor, of course!

As well as the three different heights of candle, I've also included one that's just the candle holder, so you can slot in your own candle! Of course, I recommend one from my "The Standard" set, №1 is what I've used in the picture above.

So, I had big plans for a set. But it was quite some time ago, and I finished only these three items, and everything else is now at the stage where I open the .blend file and think, "what the hell is going on here?" So I hope I will finish whatever there is to finish, or redo, or do something else… one day. But at the moment here is my version of a 1700s nightshirt and an untucked shirt for your pixel guys. For historical inaccuracy I'll blame all the "Getting Dressed in the 18th Century" videos on YouTube. Just joking - it's all me. These are basically two items - the shirt comes as a fullbody outfit and as a top in the "blouse" category. Just because I planned it as a fullbody first, but then I thought that it's supposed to be not quite a night garment as it is, but more like something someone wears when they fall asleep half undressed. So it should be a top in the first place. So I decided to do two versions. But I do not like that I had to resize the diffuse map to fit it into the "top" section of a sim texture. Anyway, have fun.

Known problems: With some animations the legs can go through the bottom part of the shirt. This happens because the legs mesh is underneath the shirt mesh, and sometimes it just… happens.

Lace as a luxury was carried over from the 17th century, used as a status simple for the wealthy to flaunt. From the mid-century on it migrated to the neck in the form of delicate chokers, which were a fashionable alternative to traditional jewelled necklaces. As hairstyles became larger hat styles became smaller until they were discarded altogether for a time, followed by extremely large hats that accommodated the curls, plaits and frizzed hair beneath. The commencement of the 1700s saw women's hair styles stay fairly demure, but it wouldn't take long for them to become much more elaborate. The popularity for wigs in men's styles crossed over to women, and as such hair styling opened up to wider experimentation. The development of heated curling tongs - paired with wool pads and wire supports - helped achieve the voluminous dos synonymous with the era. CC links and reference images under the cut.

Carrying over from the late 1600s, the wig was the hairstyle du jour for men of the 18th century. For most of the 1700s either natural or white hair colour were favoured. White wigs were the most expensive and sought after, so powdering one's own hair became the fad to give the illusion of wealth. Fun fact: this is where the term "powder room" comes from, as powdering hair required a separate room to contain the mess. CC links and reference images under the cut.

In the early century wigs for men were long and flowing, but come the mid century hair tied back, often with curls covering the ears, became the trend. I would like to see a variety of historical cc for shoes, um modern kids mix match for kids, infants toddlers down the road if you can if not I understand. Thanks for all you do in the sims community!

Unfortunately there's a pretty limited amount of dedicated historical footwear CC out there at the moment, but I've gathered up a bunch of options that could work for their respective century. I've only gone up to the 1700s as my Ultimate Decades Timeline series will soon be entering the 1800s, so I'll have plenty of shoe options for that century in the not-too-distant future. I have to give a HUGE thank you to the talented @anachrosims for once again raising the CC bar. When I was working on this lookbook I was asking around my historical simmer friends for recommendations for early 1800s military uniforms and she only went and created one! Absolute legend who helped me finalise today's line up.

While much of menswear was a continuation of styles established in the 1800s, there was a subtle shift in silhouette come the new decade, with the waist dropping and shoulders becoming more padded. Shirts were white with ruffled or pleated fronts, and very high standing collars that skimmed the jaw. By 1815 the frock coat would come into fashion, most likely evolving from the outerwear greatcoat and military uniforms. It would continue to be a staple of menswear for decades to come.

Both breeches and pantaloons were worn during the 1810s, but trousers were well and truly making their mark on the male fashion landscape. They provided a looser, more comfortable fit while still retaining the slim, athletic ideal of the period. CC links under the cut.

The short and naturally tousled hairstyle was still in vogue for men come the 1810s, inspired by classical Greek and Roman 'dos. This was typically accessorised with a top hat during the day, which continued to be the fashionable hat of choice for men of the 1810s, as it would for many decades after. They were seen in a variety of shapes and colors, and were predominantly made from wool felt or beaver pelt.

As it was with womenswear, the trends set in male fashion during the 1800s carried over into the new decade. Colour and adornment remained subdued, as menswear became much more understated. Neckwear was a crucial element of a man’s wardrobe. The main form was the cravat, a large square of fine muslin or silk, folded cornerwise and carefully tied in a variety of arrangements. This neckwear complimented and highlighted the very high standing collars that were in style at the time. A well dressed man would typically display a dangling watch or fob at the waist. The nineteenth century opened with a fashion landscape that was changing dramatically and rapidly from the styles of a generation earlier. Gone were the overly fussy coifs of the 1700s and in their place came a soft simplicity inspired by the classical antiquity of the Greeks and Romans. The Grecian and Roman influences affecting clothing styles were also inspiring the designs of women's accessories. Hairdressing further underscored the classical inspiration of the era, with bandeaux and ribbon entwined within curled tresses. The laurel crown worn by Napoleon during his coronation as Emperor became a symbol of French triumph. Coral jewellery was hugely popular among early 19th century women. In fact, browse any collection of portraits from this time period and you'll see it pop up again and again. The rich colour contrasted nicely with the light gowns of the time. Many of the shades in the early 1800s spectrum were far more vibrant and saturated in person than represented in hand coloured print engravings, which is evident in extant examples of clothing we still have today. While whites and pastels dominated women's fashion, stronger colors were common in outer wear, trains, shawls, cape linings, and special event costumes. For the 1800s CAS backgrounds I've pulled together a palette representative of these bolder colours. Be sure to only add one to your mods folder at a time!
