The Scout Guide Chattanooga: What do you find that people are intimidated by when it comes to plastic surgery, and how do you help them overcome those concerns?
The Plastic Surgery Group: I think that the confetti cannon of information available on line can make it difficult for patients to understand what is "real" and what is just "buzz" or even "salesman ship".
Our job is to cut through the fog of misinformation and educate our patients to what is "fact" regarding the services provided by our discipline.
The Scout Guide Chattanooga: When it comes to turning back the clock naturally, what helps your patients achieve the best results?
The Plastic Surgery Group: I suppose the best advice might be to approach whatever problem one may have thoughtfully and even slowly. Gather meaningful information and rely on qualified, experienced, proven plastic surgeons to act as your guide. There are often several approaches to every issue. Our surgeons will tailor any approach to every specific patient. Whether it is a physiological challenge, type of anesthesia, time constraints, or budget; The Plastic Surgery Group is equipped to provide a considerate plan for your individual needs.

The Scout Guide Chattanooga: What do BodyTite and FaceTite do and how are they different than CoolSculpting?
The Plastic Surgery Group: The Body & Face Tite platform is designed to harness the power of radio-frequency to tighten our skin in 360 degrees. Facetite can be used entirely under local anesthesia, if preferred, to both remove unsightly neck fat, and tighten the jawline and face. It is typically delivered with Morpheus radio-frequency micro needling. Take it from one who knows and had it done. It allows you to grow younger rather than older looking over the course of 3 to 6 months with virtually no down time. It is something that we are very excited about.
Body Tite solves the problem of saggy skin after liposuction. Body Tite uses radiofrequency to tighten the skin envelope where fat is removed anywhere on the body at the same time of liposuction. In some instances, it can even convert a potential abdominoplasty patient into BodyTite alone minimizes down time and convalescence. Both FaceTite and BodyTite procedures are performed by our surgeons in our office surgical suite.
Cool Sculpt uses controlled cooling technology to actually eliminate unwanted fat cells in areas where they are producing a deformity. A Cool Sculpt session takes about 45 minutes and 2 areas can be treated at once in our office. There is no down time. At least 2 sessions are suggested per site to maximize the effect. Cool Sculpt is performed by our Cosmetic nursing and aesthetician staff.
The Scout Guide Chattanooga: What are some of your most popular skin care, injectables and other non-surgical services, and where and by whom are they conducted?
The Plastic Surgery Group: Something new to our practice, that we are really excited about, is the Cartessa Coolpeel Carbon Dioxide Laser! The Cool Peel Laser is the absolute latest in laser technology.
The Coolpeel will resurface you skin, improve fine lines and wrinkling, tighten your skin, and improve discoloration at virtually any age with almost no downtime. Even better is that it can be performed at the same time as IPL (Lumecca) treatment and Radiofrequency Microneedling (Morpheus) treatment. Combined…this skin rejuvenation program represents the very best of regenerative dermatology. It ignites collagen production, tightens the skin, reverses the effect of sun damage, and resculpts fat distribution, and can be comfortably performed with topical anesthesia.
Coolpeel and the Cartessa Carbon Dioxide LASER systems represent a new day in the battle against facial aging. This service is conducted by The Plastic Surgery Group’s Aesthetic Nurse Allie Henegar in our office.
Our aesthetic nurse, Allie Henegar, provides state of the art injectables and fillers to our clients in a very artistic and personal way. She takes a great deal of time to determine the patient’s goals and works with them to provide the best outcome possible. She is also a great resource for skin care questions and concerns and has many tools at her disposal to give the client the glowing and refreshed look they are working toward.

The Scout Guide Chattanooga: The Plastic Surgery Group is the only practice in the region offering Awake Liposuction. How is it different than traditional Liposuction and who would be a good candidate?
Plastic Surgery Group: Awake liposuction is amazing. It completes the circle regarding body contouring services at The Plastic Surgery Group. At the center of this technology is the Muller Vibrostat. This device uses the science of harmonic vibration to create a liposuction cannula that can pass through our fat layer almost painlessly. Add injected anesthetic fluid and some laughing gas to the equation and you have "Awake liposuction". Its advantage is that it can be performed easily on the patient's front, side, and back, all in one session.
I firmly believe that this technique with its the ease of patients repositioning improves both accuracy and contour results while minimizing the negative impact of a surgical intervention on our body. So, if we add BodyTite to Awake liposuction, you have the most cutting edge body sculpting treatment available in the region. Minimally invasive, minimal downtime, but with a maximal result.
