Even if the Ministry were an option, Tyler had never been drawn to the political side of things. He’d like to be an auror, or a curse-breaker, or perhaps an unspeakable. He’d be good at it too, he was raised to work in environments like that, but they simply weren’t options for him for the time being. “I’m not a huge believer in the universe being… all seeing,” He admitted with an apologetic smile. It was complicated, things like fate and the like, the idea that things could be predicted and the future shown stirred up mixed feelings in him- most of them bad. “I think there could be a lot of harm, you could tell me something that I’m not happy with, which could be real and therefore I’d rather not know or could not happen but make me wary of it anyway. On the other hand, you could tell me something I am happy with, which could be real and could be nice, or could be real but raise my expectations and ultimately leave me disappointed.” He inhaled deeply, folding his arms across his chest, curiosity causing him to ask, “What sort of readings do you do? I’ve been lead to believe there are many different kinds.”
She cocked her head, genuinely interested in his opinions. It was something her father had taught her very young. Even though her community tended to be quite opinionated and... Frankly judgemental, Tshila’s Dad spent his life documenting people on the fringes of society. He had an open mind, and all he wanted was for Tshila to be the same. “People think divination is imprecise. It is, to an extent, but it’s not... Meant to be precise. The future changes with every decision we make. Divination just kind of shows us what’s... Possible. What could be. Helps us make decisions when we’re uncertain, or opens us up when we feel like we’ve got no options.” She thumbed the leather of her bag while she thought. “Astrology’s my strongest. But I’m handy at tarot, too.”
