in all seriousness, i theorize a lot about tsukasa, about his end goals and his moral alignments and his complexities. he’s a character that could very easily be dismissed as someone flat on characterization and intent on nothing more than causing suffering and tormenting those around him, when in reality, while true to a certain extend, that isn’t exactly the case.
tsukasa, as he is, embodies the god that is represented by and rules within the red house — he is cruel, he is unpredictable, he is manipulative, but he is also calculating and methodical and most likely has an entire plan very well scoped out in the grand scheme of things, perhaps even one that goes against the god he embodies, out of his love and obsession for his brother. after all, he gave his life for amane, only to find out that the house killed him anyway. while the immediate assumption of tsukasa is that he is violent and obsessive and puerile, he is extremely focused and goal-oriented and highly intelligent beyond his years, just as amane was himself as a child. tsukasa has had many years to carefully cultivate his plan to strike back at the red house for betraying his wish for amane to continue living, and rather than tsukasa being evil, he is simply willing to stop at nothing to ensure that his wish comes true, even if it means striking back against a god and himself.
he does still have his immaturities, and has a rather cruel streak, as he has relented to his more twisted curiosities following his first death, but all of his lashings out are well-planned and timed, and he orchestrates things very carefully to ensure that the actions he takes cause the impacts that he needs to see his plans through. his knowledge of the far shore, of boundaries, of the nowhere, and of the time warps are far beyond that of the average human or exorcist or even the seven wonders, as the seven wonders (or perhaps even the seven lucky gods) are merely parts of his own power spread across other beings in the stead of the god within him. he knows them all very intricately, knows how to traverse amongst all of them with absolutely no difficulty, even after the severance, where the far shore (the afterlife) was fully separated from the near shore (the living world), sending all of the other supernaturals over to the far shore and ensuring that none of them can return unless otherwise dictated.
tsukasa wants to see those around him “fight the laws of [the near shore]”, testing the boundaries of what he can and cannot do. he works very carefully to ensure that all of the pieces on his board are in the right places at just the right time, even if that means doing something like using yashiro’s ability to travel through time warps to push her into meeting amane and becoming and influential part of his life before he even kills himself, fifty years in the past. he is someone who would easily be underestimated due to his rather boisterous and simple-minded demeanor, which only serves his purpose even better.
traumatizing, pushing his own brother away is something that he was more than willing to do to try and save him in the long run. tsukasa is more willing to be despised by his own brother than let him die and roam as a spirit, never able to live a long and fulfilling life. he will do whatever it takes to succeed, no matter how long it takes or how much effort he’ll have to put in.
