"I don't see any real problem with it," he agreed, backpedaling a bit, "it was just surprising, is all." He blinked curiously. "If you're not human, then what are you?" She looked an awful lot like a human, but he had no reason to not believe her in a world filled with Pokémon, especially ones that could shape-shift.

  {♛} “Something the matter, Calem?” A confused expression made itself known. “You look confused..” The life Pokemon nudged it’s nose against her shoulder. Glancing back, Serena rubbed the legendaries head; content. 

"I’ve been well. And yourself?"

Interesting that she picked up on that. Thankfully, Calem's expression didn't change much as he shrugged. "It's nothing important." Echo barked a few times, giving the Xerneas a meaningful stare, as if he wanted to battle it. Calem held out a finger to the Sylveon, making him back up a bit.

"I'm fine." He tilted his head in the direction of the Pokémon that Serena was petting. "What's that?" He'd never seen it before, regardless of how rampant it'd been in Kalos legend. He had only lived there for two years, after all.

   "Yes, human, that is what you are, correct?"

Calem continued to stare. "... Yes." And then something seemed to click as the gears turned behind his eyes. "But that seems to be implying you're not."

Well, look at this one's get-up. Calem blinked. That hat of his almost looked medieval. Strangely enough, too, he could feel one of his Pokémon was drawn to this guy. Echo appeared to lack interest this time around, licking at his paws.
