Plans for tonight: it’s the finale of the outdoor screening programming at the Toronto International Film Festival. I got out my sewing machine this morning to make some ties. I don’t have a grey suit but I do have a grey gingham A-line dress.

A lovely evening! The film festival provided quite a number of giant velvety beanbags for the park movie screenings. The people who said they’d join me tonight bailed but I enjoyed myself just the same (“I’m a loner…”). The crowd seemed to have a mix of people who had seen the film a lot and some first timers, too. Excellent atmosphere.
