"Well, mum, ya got me." Craig smiled openly, splaying his arms out wide on either side. It had been a while since he and Shayna had done anything together, and he welcomed the change of pace.
"Where can I take ya this fine evening?"
"Thanks, mum." The Demoman sighed in relief when he pulled himself up into the passenger’s seat and buckled himself in. It was good to get some weight off his leg, and he couldn’t help but smile as he dug around for the lever to push his seat back a little.
"There’s a pizza place a ways past that burned down buildin’ on Gullyweed avenue. Always wanted ta try it."
As they pulled out onto the main road, Shayna turned to head towards the burned down building mentioned, vaguely remembering the pizza place nearby. She wanted to ask about his family, but there was a distance from how long they'd been apart, she didn't feel like she deserved to ask such things anymore.
"Noble, helpin' pay fer yer family ta move... Makes it seem loike yeh took this job jes' fer tha' reason," Shayna said, about as much she felt was allowed. "Awl Oi evah do is buy me da farmin' supplies when he asks," She said, fiddling with the car radio and turning on some quiet background music, just soft enough to be spoken over.

Following the Sniper, he frowned to himself. He hadn’t done a blasted thing to her, but she felt it was necessary to give him the old stink eye? Well, he knew where he’d be parking his knife on the battlefield. Honestly, just because he was a Spy didn’t mean people had to be rude to him. He had enough problems without that nonsense.
Keeping back a safe distance, he watched her. He might have to disguise himself as her sometime and it was good to learn people’s tics and quirks first. He just barely managed to squeeze into her room behind her, keeping silent as always. He might not be the best at conversation, but stealth was where he excelled.
Inside the Snipers room were many small potted plants, mainly succulents of various kinds, a terrarium with two fat frogs in it, and various drying paintings and artistic supplies. Shayna set the box down, and went about finding new places for the crystals and tiny plants. She took her time arranging things, before taking her frogs out for a brief social interaction. The darker one willing waddled onto her hand, though the brighter toned one squeaked and bit at her hand. She seemed mildly amused by both antics.

"It’s a lot less for me ta worry about, for sure. Ferguslie is the poorest place in alla bloody Scotland.” Not to mention one of the worst. But, that was all his family could afford, what with there being a lot of them and his own condition. There had just never been enough to pay off their debts and get them in a good place, not until he’d taken this job. It was a huge load off of his shoulders to think that they were living somewhere safe.
He fell silent for now, mulling over her suggestions and questions and his own pride at helping the family out. “Nah. Ye’ve shown me yer drawin’s, but not yer paintin’s, mum. Why don’t’cha tell me about them on the way. Ye’re drivin’. Leg’s been givin’ me cramps, anyways.”
"Oi'm happy fer yeh..." Shayna said, before he agreed to ride in her van. "Yeah? Oi do loads o' stuff. Lately's it's mostly still lifes though. Couldn't be arsed ta do anythin' else," the Sniper said, unlocking the passenger's side, and waiting until Craig was in the vehicle before moving to open the other side.
Once she was in, she turned to the Demo, pointing behind them at the cozy looking back area of the van, covered in pillows and cushions and blankets, with safe spaces for booze. "Best part a th' whole van," she insisted, before starting her up. "Where we goin'?" She asked as they pulled out of the parking lot and onto the gravel path to the main road.

He returned her sneer. There was no use in him trying to be nice when she was just going to be rude from the outset. Making no effort to hide his actions, he cloaked in front of her. Of course, there was no indication that he had left at all. He was just watching her now without giving her the same satisfaction.
Once he was gone, Shayna simply headed inside the BLU base, heading to her room to put away her things. She never really understood Spies. Nor did she fancy talking to one that thought matching her disdain was justifiable.

Having just returned from a miniature shopping spree, Shayna was behind the base, removing a box of rocks and plants from the passenger side of her van. When the Sniper stood straight, box in her arms, and noticed the other, she simply sneered, before closing the van door with her boot.

"Well, mum, ya got me." Craig smiled openly, splaying his arms out wide on either side. It had been a while since he and Shayna had done anything together, and he welcomed the change of pace.
"Where can I take ya this fine evening?"
"Aye mum?" That did sound like one hell of a bad time. Craig was torn between asking her what had happened and not prying too much, just in case it was a sore topic. The Demoman licked his lips, running his hand across the back of his neck.
"Had ta do things around home mesself. No new scars’a me own, but I’ve been poppin’ back’n forth ‘tween here’n home. Finally saved up enough t’move me folks the fuck outta’ Ferguslie and t’a decent place in Craiglockart, which is a bonnie good thing. Y’ain’t seen piss poor ‘till ye’ve been ta Ferguslie."
The place names were unfamiliar but she trusted his judgement, of course. "Yeah. Tha's good fer them, then. And fer you, if it means less ta worry 'bout," Shayna said, sort of agreeing by default as they made their way outside. "We takin' yer car again or yeh wanna roide in me van," She asked once they got out there, pointing hopefully at the colorful vehicle. "Got cushions in th' back. Could hang out and watch the sky after we eat," Was her reasoning, though she wouldn't force it. Especially since she wasn't sure how any particular man would react to a woman driving them.
"Would o' been noice ta hear from yeh before, but. Oi guess Oi'd have ta tell yeh where Oi was fer tha' ta happen," Shayna said lowly, feeling awkward with not knowing how to treat the other now. "Good news is Oi had plenty o' toime ta paint. An' Oi did a ton o' paintin'. Yeh even seen me art?" She asked, wondering if she'd bothered showing him.

"Hmn…" Any place, was it? He didn’t want to pull a repeat of their last date and take her to the same place twice. He supposed they could always check out that pizza place and maybe hit the skating rink.
"I’ve been busy, mum." The Demoman smiled, extending an arm towards her. "C’mon, let’s git goin’ before I start chewin’ on yer furniture."
"Busy? Yeah, me too. Yeh wouldn't believe wot Oi've been up to," Shayna said, before looping her arm through his. "But Oi'm foine now. Jes' got a few new scars," she assured, patting vaguely at her stomach, hinting to what the scars were from, or at least where they were on her person.
"Not sure Oi aughtah ask wot yeh've been up too," the Sniper said, trying to sound dismissive, though she was vaguely worried that her lack of presence had gone mostly ignored.

"Well, mum, ya got me." Craig smiled openly, splaying his arms out wide on either side. It had been a while since he and Shayna had done anything together, and he welcomed the change of pace.
"Where can I take ya this fine evening?"
"To dinner. Someplace diff'rent. Oi haven't eaten awl day, an' it's 'bout toime Oi did," Shayna said, pausing to wonder how long it had been since they'd done anything. "It's been a whoile. Oi've gotten three more cactus plants since we last talked," Shayna said, referring to the ample collection of tiny potted succulents that littered her room. "Hope yeh didn't miss me any, pup."
When she began to refer to him as a dog, Craig fell quiet. He didn’t mind so much being called boy or puppy, but the dog terminology had already overstayed its welcome. “I’m not a dog.” He grumbled after that kiss, frowning up at her slightly.
She probably didn’t mean it that way, he could hear the affection in her voice, but it still rubbed him the wrong way to be spoken to like that. “M’not dumb neither. Wouldn’t be hired for me job if I was.”
Clearly apologetic, Shayna frowned as he called her out, rubbing at his hair before responding. "Oi'm sorry... Oi... don't have any excuse actin' loike tha'. Should cawl yeh wot yeh are. A silly but, very handsome and intelligent pup," She said, hesitating to act more intimate with him. "Would yeh accept a kiss as an apology," Shayna asked after a pause, smoothing back his gray hairs from his forehead.
"Don't s'pose yeh'd want to anymore but... Oi did think on, uh. wot yeh asked b'fore. An'. Oi think Oi'd loike ta. Be yer girlfriend," Shayna said lowly, looking away from him at the moment, and reaching to get more coffee for herself to drink.
The entire while she dangled that bit of meat over his face, he whined, craning his neck slightly as he tried to nibble the strip of bacon out of her fingers. Full as he was from the beef, he diligently ate whatever she dangled infront of his face until he was too full for more.
"I got a tummy." He whined in mock protest, fixating her with his best ‘sad puppy’ eyes.
"Be a good dog an' beg for food until there's no more, an' then give me th' puppy eyes. Tha's how dog's're supposed ta work, roight?" Shayna said, not seeming as if she was going to stop presenting him with food, at least not until the container she'd brought out with her was mostly empty. Switching hands, Shayna moved to rub at the others stomach, wondering if he would like it as much as he did head scratches.
From all that he'd eaten, he did have a bit more too him than she was used to. Though she wasn't much for backing down, no, so she kept prompting him with small bits of egg and pancake and whatnot. "Yeah, an' Oi got decent soized tits. We done lyin' yet?" She retorted, taking a few bites for herself and feeding him again, until it was mostly gone, and she was tired of the act. She put the food away after that, resting back against the truck slightly, and actually bothered to hold up the sign again."It's got words on it, yeh know. Was supposed ta be funny... guess it's lost on yeh," She said, running her fingers over his lips, before bending over to gently kiss them, now that his breath didn't smell near so bad. "Dumb dog."
"Och, mum, ye know I didn’t mean aught by that." Craig sighed, slowly beginning to relax and stretch out his legs, even if she was teasing him. He enjoyed being babied by her, and her company slowly began to take the edge off of his frustration.
"Ye just surprised me, is all…" He sighed and scrunched his nose as he craned his neck out the most he could with the makeshift table on his stomach. "C’mon, mum. Forgive me’n feed me already."
Not one to resist an innocent bit of teasing, Shayna wiggled the bacon over his face a bit more, before actually letting him have a bite. "Mmm, yes, good i'n'it?" She asked, though she already knew he would agree. After all, he'd just eaten uncooked cow the night before, and anything aught to be better than that. "Oi'm 'fraid yeh moight end up even more spoiled... If this keeps up," She said, feeding him more bite of different foods as he finished each bite, only enough time between them for a short bit of breathing. "But Oi did say yeh'd look cute wif a wee bit o' tummy chub, didn't Oi? Heh," was her response to herself, scratching at his head more in hopes he might warm to that idea.
"I…" Last night wasn’t something he really wanted to talk about. He remembered running off sometime after then and-
It was best not to dwell on that. Craig shook his head, leaning out into her hand. “Let’s not talk about that, aye mum?” He asked as he finally reached down to grab a bit of bacon form the bowl on his belly. With a cheeky grin, he held it up before her face and wagged it a little. “M’hungry, but I’m so bleedin’ tired, mum. Ye might have ta feed me.”
After setting down the coffee, and focusing on scratching at his head, Shayna found herself presented with bacon. Rolling her eyes, she took it from him and held it just out of reach of his face. "Yeah, real toired, huh? Oi only feed good pups. An' yeh haven't convinced me yer a good pup, oh no, quoite the opposite," She teased, before pulling the strip of meat away and take a bite out of it herself. "Mmm, it's really good, though. Think yeh c'n apologoize fer tryin' ta boite me head off?" She asked, which was making it easy on him, truthfully. It was fully within her capabilities to be much crueler.
When she brought up the sign hanging from his neck, Craig slowly glanced down at his chest. At first, he just stared down at it in confusion before slowly sliding down in the sand next to her. Without warning, he wiggled his head onto her lap and rolled onto his back.
"S’not a sign. It’s a bleedin’ table fer ya." He countered, tugging the sign up onto his gut to try and stabilize it before answering her question.
"T’tell truth, mum… I dunno wot I need either. This don’t exactly come with a guidebook." He raised his gaze to look up at her and tried to smile.
With a raised eyebrow, Shayna watched as he reclined, holding the food and drink up above him until he settled. Once he did, she mimicked what he suggested, and put the food down on the cardboard, on top of his stomach. "Sounds loike yeh wanna be spoon fed, an' Oi'm not exactly more for, or against, that," She offered, drinking more coffee before looking down at him, and going to ruffle his hair.
"So how was yer noight, past about 2 am, when Oi fell asleep," the Sniper questioned, having lost track of him and gotten bored by then. "Yeh were roight 'bout one thing. Yeh do git awfully big..."
