Falloff
SCENE: Two friends Jake and Drake patiently wait for the light to turn green on their way home from a long-awaited hangout with their friends.
Jake: I feel like as time goes on theres always a fallout of the group.
Drake (Nodding): I guess it comes with age.
(Light turns green)
Jake: I don't know if it's just age, if they wanted to really hang out they would.
Drake: That’s not fair to say bruh, everyone has their own issues and things going on,
Jake: I guess…. It feels like yesterday when we were all sitting on the trampoline viewing the stars and talking about the future not worrying about life.
(Drake points towards the light)
Jake: You see a star or something?
Drake: No, the lights been green start moving!
Jake: We even used to hang out way more than this. I feel like as time goes on, we will turn into surface-level friends.
Drake: You never know man
Jake: Do you care Drake
Drake: Yeah, I do, but I feel like everyone is just growing up. They all have different responsibilities and lives, and sooner or later, marriage and family will be a topic.
Jake: Yeah I get your perspective but what could we do to bring it all back?
Drake: Well all we gotta do is try to hang out as much as we can like the old days to reignite the spark.
Jake: Everyone operates on different schedules too, even back then you couldn’t make it half the time. What makes you expect it to be as simple as you say considering we just hanged?
Drake: Hey, nothing changes if nothing changes man lets do something.
Jake: Don’t you have school this week
Drake : Is it worth skipping ci on tuesday?
(They both laugh in unison)
