I feel like there’s not enough fandom focus of just how bad a mother Angela was, when it all came down to it… like, yes she obv. loved Clay and all, given that he was her “precious only ever”…

But I mean, as tragic as it was that she passed away over what was essentially an misunderstanding (along with the aftermath of Arthur’s treatment of his son onwards)… would Clay have had it much better if she lived? With him growing up with a mom who from Day 1 kept coddling her son, clung to religion, and showed no active love/partnership with her husband? Esp. if it’d continue on to Clay’s eventual years as a husband and father of his own family… I can’t imagine that turning out well given some of the “/JNMiL” stories I’ve read >>
