They also appeared at probably the first Detour event in 5 years I’ve missed, in The Hug & Pint in Glasgow with DICE apparently it was super ace. That made me sad - if it was half as intesnse as when I saw them in Inverness earlier in the year then there is something tasty cooking here.

New Compilation: New Moons Vol 3 = New pals: New jams.
In it's third incarnation here's NEW MOONS a compilation me and my buddy Ach (Killing Moon Records) put together, essentially, it's Now That's What I Call Music 7,903 but minus the Cheryl Cole, Morrisons shelf placement or acts your Aunty Val has heard being played off the radio in the garage in the background of last nights Corrie... well, for now anyway.
Simply put, it's 24 of the freshest acts (and/or tracks) that even we have barely heard of but got totally hooked on and wanted to put together somewhere until the end of time (or the morning we all wake up and realise the internet was just a big scary dream). It's got fuck all to do with The Twilight Saga but a lot to do with wanting to tell people about things we heard and got excited about, such is our narcissism, or love, up to you.
I'm really, really obsessed with the track-listing we brought together this time, to hopefully bring about some cross over of fans/pals/like minded folks who care enough to read this red-wine soaked post that I'm writing while waiting for one of the comps' acts to arrive at my London flat because they have a show tomorrow and their current eta is 3:45 because the van broke down, so late that the blow up mattresses are probably flagging.The comp, oh aye, it's eclectic obvs, with a heap of really exciting, innovative pals from here in the UK but this time we did some transatlaticism with the likes of the Galaxy Caramel-voiced Michigan boy Daniel Wilson (beyond talent, META-talent) or the fire-mouthed party vibes of Chicago's Matty Rico, thanks to their teams for making it happen.
A massive thanks to all the acts that let us put them on this compilation and yeah, the big thing is; have a lovely time streaming it, that's half the fun, the discovery, the wee adventure to find out who's who, but the whole damn lot is now up on iTunes to download and keep and that's where it becomes a thing, a moment in time, a thing That I Call Music *zing*

Y.O.U - Heavy Crown
Ooooooo you have to check this out dreamy, poppy delight from Manchester's Y.O.U. or Your Own Universe, premiered via clashmag today. I have just listened to it six times in a row, too good.
Rag 'n' Bone Man - Ruben's Train (Pete Cannon Remix)
First one of the year on here and it's a Godzilla shaped remix of the usually subdued, bluesy, soulful sound of Brighton's Rag 'N' Bone Man, his debut EP (link) for High Focus Records was a real shot in the arm last year and since he's been working as the main man in new collective Button Eyes (link to the memorising Simple Days).
This remix from Manchester boy Pete Cannon (link) brings a whole new dimension to the boney man's sound.
URCHINS
Takes a while to get going but man this is smoother than a Galaxy Chocolate advert.
It's the first track from new power couple from Glasgow - the emcee is Nek Swan with Florist on that blissed out production.
Looking forward to hearing loads more.

Debukas
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh this is so damn infectious.
New one from Glasgow's Debukas, or Debuk-ASS-SHAKE (sorry) but ooft this is relentless, the beats bounces so nicely.
Getting released early November before the debut album comes out later in the month, super excited for that now.
Leon T Pearl
For me - one of the most exciting acts making noise in the UK right now, caught his first London show a couple of months back and this boy knows how to command a crowd, nae, a dancefloor. It's party tunes: shuffley-beats and upfront vocals, love it.
On tour with AlunaGeorge right now in the UK and here's a brand new joint FOR FREE.
Yay.
TURTLE
Who Knows is the debut single from Glasgow boy Turtle (Jon Cooper). Suuuuuuuuch a strong start, and with news of an EP on the horizon, nothing but excitement over here. The beat is a dream and those filtered, bitter sweet vocals bode very well for the future.
I sincerely hope that Turtle from Entourage has moved to the Dear Green Place and started making etherial, synth dream pop.
KC LIGHTS
Seeing as I've tended to swamp this blog with lovely, heartfelt, if a little washy electronic / indie stuff as of late I thought I'd hit it with something more upfront.
23 year old Kerr from that northern part of the UK that inspires perverse, hedonistic and incredibly sharp James McAvoy films goes under the name KC Lights and is aiming straight for some neon alcopop pit of euphoria.

OH HIYA IMPOSSIBLY WET OCTOBER DAYS WHICH REMIND ME OF LISTENING TO DEATH CAB AND CONOR OBERST RECORDS WHILE GETTING SOAKED ON THE WAY TO SCHOOL.
...yeah, this man, this voice, evoked some memories. The opening minute of this so sparse, ballsy and beautiful.
Looking forward to hearing more.

Sounds like the name of a cough medicine, cut from the same Midlands cloth as Jaws, Peace and Swim Deep but with even more pop shout a long moments, there's a fist in the air feel to it, which will always, always grab my attention, because clearly I am punk as fuck.
