Hey there, heathens.  Happy New Year

But with new years come new changes, and I'm not sure anyone is gonna like this one. 

When we created this blog, we initially made it for shits and giggles, and honestly didn't expect to get much attention at all.  In fact, it overwhelmed us.  At first, it was exciting, because we suddenly had all this attention that, as artists, we weren't used to and that made us crave to get even MORE attention.   We both jumped into the fandom late as hell, and in turn, we had a lot of learning to do and not a lot of time to devote to learning it.  We quickly became overwhelmed when we realized that... We were scared to post anything at all that could be either controversial or incorrect, and in turn make us look like dumbass nobs.  

To add to it, the Gorillaz fandom is also scary.  It's easy to say something that can easily be taken out of context or misunderstood.

We also don't do well with feeling pressured, and with such a large audience comes a LOT of pressure, and with both of us working, we didn't have a lot of time to do art.  And when we DID do art, we also had to work on commissions (gotta get all the cash you can now aday just to stay afloat) so we were always busy with something or another... 

Tumblrs NSFW policy also put an awful taste in our mouths.  I don't think the banning of NSFW is going to actually fix anything but, that's not why we're here... When it comes to 2Doc, when ISN'T their relationship borderline or full on NSFW. Their LIVES are NSFW. You ever Google the meaning of NSFW? You'll find an image of Murdoc Niccals next to it.  We were able to do anything we wanted on this blog with them because tumblr didn't have any rules on that sort of stuff, and, well, we were thirsty hoes that wanted to draw 'em fuckin', so we did.  Almost all of our posts would wind up being linked to another website, and that just... Yeah, no... 

Then there is also the lovely shifting of interests.  We still love Gorillaz and doodle things in our notebooks for fun sometimes, but of course we started this blog kind of late into our 'obsession' with the band. We'd been writing and drawing things for it for well over a year when we first started it.   Now, though, we've acquired a new interest, and one in which we also plan to do some sort of 'ask blog' type thing for, though we're still debating whether we want to use Tumblr or not, and we don't really know when we want to do it.  Or if we should use tumblr and just link out in the rare instances there is nsfw or not... Or if there's an alternative... Neither of us actually use twitter or instagram so... There's that. 

Anyways, I've rambled long enough about this.

TL;DR: We're no longer going to be running Turquoise Troubles, but there are still members active on the discord server if you want to hop on and talk to people.  Sometimes we get on there and chat, but not often anymore.  We'll leave this blog for anyone to look back on, but... Yeah.  We're sorry.   The other fandom we've shifted to is Sally Face, so if any of you are interested in a SaLarry blog... ;)

Sorry for this being an OOC post. 

Blitz and I are a bit busy working on things in preparation for next month’s event in our Closed Species that we run and it’s taking a lot of time. So I’m focusing on a lot of artwork for that.  We haven’t forgotten about the blog, we just have to take care of responsabilities first, since this blog is just for fun. 

But we do plan to come back to this!

[ That’s honestly very sweet of you Q.Q!! We’re both hangin’ in there. We’ve had a lot of work on our plates this past month with commissions, and other things monopolizing a lot of our time which has really cut into our time to regularly post things on the blog. Depression has been the big kicker for the both of us. We’ve been helping eachother through things though! We’re doing a lot better now! That being said, hopefully we can start posting a little more frequently. We really appreciate you all sticking around and looking out for us! It means a lot honestly <3]
