"I haven't seen a mascot like this one before." He mused as he took a closer look at Teddie. He didn't think this 'mascot' could be similar to Morgana, did he?
"Want to see even more of me?" The mascot teased with a sticker-like blush on his cheeks. Any and all phrases that could be interpreted as compliments in any way always caught the attention of two small, fluffy ears.
Teddie reached behind his head, and grabbed his zipper. He opened it only enough to reach into his suit. From there he took out: a posable Teddie figure!
"Junes has a new line of Teddie Toys in stock! Get them while they're adora-bear!" He's holding it close for a good view.
People with childlike excitement, I hope you never lose your sparkle.
"In any case, if you sense anything different, we may as well check it out," Ken muses. "It's better than what I've been doing...though we might have to figure out how to slip in and out unseen if we do find anything." That's a problem that they'll have to figure out when they get there, he supposes. Shibuya Station is large enough that there might be an alcove they can duck into, or something like that, and it's pointless to speculate until they have a lead to follow.
Honestly, the lack of progress is enough to drive Ken up the wall. He didn't think he'd exactly stumble right into the Shadow Nest Fuuka-san had sensed, but...he hadn't exactly thought he'd come up quite so empty, either. And it's not like he's got completely nothing, either—the equipment he'd been given makes it clear that there's something here in Tokyo, if only he could reach it. But he supposes it's not all bad, either. He's gotten to know the city more in the short time he's been here than he would have otherwise, after all, and he certainly welcomes Teddie's visit.
"That's right...Madoka-nee is here, for one. I'm sure she'll be excited to see you. And there's plenty to do—city wild or not, you probably wouldn't get bored even after multiple trips." But for now, business. Shibuya Station is as crowded as always, prompting Ken to stick close to the other. "Well, here we are. Are you able to pick up on anything from out here? Or should we go further into the station?"
Shibuya Station was unlike any he’s experienced before. A constant stream of people surrounded the duo from all sides. While he didn’t freeze, he did walk far slower now. A few occasional shoulder bumps wasn’t going to stop their mission. At times like this, though, he was a bit glad to be country bear.
As soon as they stepped foot in the station proper, Teddie felt the change instantly. Faint, yet unending calls of the shadows. They were like a cold cacophony of dammed souls. He hasn’t heard this in years, the cries of the shadows went straight into his head. He didn’t know if it was because of all his time experiencing peace, but this feeling…was still far.
“We need to go further down.” Teddie ordered in an uncharacteristically serious and stern manner, “I can already hear them, but it’s still a little far. If I could get closer, then I can get a better idea of what we’re dealing with.”
He hopes he’s gone rusty-that his dulled senses have exasperated an otherwise smaller problem. Otherwise, with such a strong scent already, this would be one of the largest shadow nests he's seen. Teddie would've walked off faster, but he stopped when he remembered one tiny detail. He had no idea how to get downstairs from here.
"...Which way down to the platforms...?" He sees at least a few signs leading to subways but he's not sure which one they should take for convenience sake.
"You're talking about Paulownia Mall as well as Champ De Fleurs." They are both within the area of Iwatodai. Just come off at Iwatodai Station then head toward the Strip Mall. When looking at the Wilduck Burgers, turn to the left and go forward about 3 blocks. My house is a deep crimson with a sky blue wooden fence."
"Hard to say if having that much of an appetite between all 8 of you is a good thing or a bad thing." That was effectively each person eating enough for 2 people, but it didn't mean that each person would eat that much.
"Not sure who your sensei is, but I do feel bad for making him pay for such a large food order. If possible, can you offer to have him buy it and then I'll give him money to count for half of it?" Though this was all largely assuming that they were going to agree with it in the first place. It wasn't like he knew a lot of the people that Teddie was talking about.
“Yeah! Those!” He happily pointed at Nobu as he named the two locations. Yup! Those were definitely what Teddie was talking about, and he didn’t need to double check. It sure was lucky that Tatsumi Port Island had so many convenient places.
“You don’t have to worry about that. Sensei and Yosuke are beary generous bears. We can always rely on them for things like this.” The blonde waved that suggestion away with the eyes of someone that has never seen any financial hardship in his short life. If Nobu wanted to continue with his offering then Teddie wouldn’t stop him, but it wasn’t required either. Sensei and Yosuke would probably appreciate it, too.
“OK, now! Let’s start with party planning step 1.” Memories of all their past team meetups were flowing into him already, “Before making any purchases, we need to write down our full list of ingredients and supplies.” He repeated just like Yosuke had told him.
For every "♡" I get I'll give a tip on how to win my muse's heart.
She sat down, next to Teddie and watch him fixing some shades as if he's been doing it all his life--which, probably is true. Fuuka blushed when Teddie complimented her face and features. She still wasn't used to someone just complimenting her so often. But, her blushing was more pink than red this time around.
"I only knew of one person who had glasses. It was odd how they never came off whenever they were in battle. But, maybe he was able to fix them up to make them battle proof or something." Fuuka stated, remembering how Jin never also had to change glasses during battle too. It's a shame she would never be able to ask him anything about that--it could have helped Teddie and the rest of his friends in battle. IF they still used them.
Fuuka laid her hands in her lap and smiled at Teddie's determination. "And you do the job so well, Teddie. You are a pro at this, and I just love watching you in your element. Your focus is very...hot." Fuuka grinned, placing a hand on his shoulder, slightly teasing him and see how he would react.
“You think so?” If Fuuka wanted Teddie’s attention, it definitely worked. He didn’t drop the glasses, but he did stop his process for now. “Thank you! I’ll…make even more next time.” His soft cheeks blushed brightly at the compliment. For someone who’s waited so long for someone to call him “hot”, he was surprisingly shy.
Later on in the day, Teddie will take the compliment to heart and start planning even more projects to do while he’s here. Not only glasses, but charms, accessories, and small toys, too. Anything Fuuka enjoyed he should do more to increase his cuddle quotas for the day. But that will be later, and now is now.
“If anyone deserves a compliment, it’s you. I can’t keep up with the hard stuff you do on the computer, or all the work you do with Ai-chan and Labby-chan. You’re on a whole other level!” If he tried asking more about what she did, it would probably feel like talking to Nao-chan, and only a few words would come through. He was an impressed bear!
Teddie returned to working on the glasses while he spoke. Using his recent memories and another glance toward Fuuka, he made an educated guess on how much of an initial adjustment he needed to make to ensure the frames fit snuggly on her face. If they needed more fixing, he could do it after the initial fitting.
“Put them on?” The small bear handed over the glasses with the temples pointing towards Fuuka for greater ease. While there was no fog around to tell, these lenses were the same used to explore the TV World.
The feline companion seemed far more skeptical than Raidou himself - though Teddie could make out nothing save for meows, Gouto did give a small sigh of discontentment, exasperation. An exchange of glances between himself and his apprentice, yet Raidou said nothing regarding their odd situation. Instead, he took care to listen, to observe. Teddie was an odd sort and it wasn’t his mascot-like appearance which evoked this sentiment. But he had a kindness to him, a friendliness brought to the foreground as Raidou mentioned his kouhai.
Madoka did have some unique friends.
The summoner felt himself smiling slightly, the edges of lips quirked gently upwards. He didn’t try to argue towards caution to explain his silence regarding the girl in question, as it felt irrelevant. Rather, he chose to focus on the present concern at hand; how had he gotten there, and how was he to escape?
“I don’t recall losing consciousness, but when I woke up, I was here.” In this fog world outside of reality. Raidou was reminded of the Dark Realm, the place where demons hid, banished from the world of humanity long ago. Some occasionally managed to slip through the barriers and make their way to the real world, or spirited away humans to their own. This didn’t feel like that kind of thing. Somebody corporeal, someone human must have brought him here. Immediately, the summoner suspected that he had gotten too close to the truth somewhere along the way, and this was an attempt by the perpetrator to silence him by any means necessary.
Perhaps he had been careless. There was no time for regrets, only a way forward. He sought Teddie’s advice. “Is it possible to escape this place?” Raidou didn’t concern himself with the potential of present danger, but he was concerned about the distinct lack of Magnetite in the air. Whether he was made to engage an enemy here was of little consequence, but without that precious spiritual essence, the boy would soon find himself unable to summon his demonic companions or use their skills to his benefit. Though it was perhaps unrecognizable on the surface, this small fact did have him on edge.
“That’s funny. Beary few people are able to come in here, and the only way is entering through a TV screen.” Definitely odd, and not in a good way. Something told him that Raidou didn’t sleep walk his way into a TV. That would be too silly! But he wasn’t forced in here, either. Teddie thinks this is something Nao-chan would call an “anomaly”.
Teddie’s ears twitched again at the small sound of a cat meowing. He stopped to look around the floor without any success. The bear was willing to believe he mistook the shrill sound earlier, but twice would be too much of a coincidence. His big eyes squinted a tad, and he returned his focus back to Raidou. Yeah, that kind of looked like…
“Sure! I help everyone leave my world. It’s one of my specialties! But…” He turned his head to get a better look, “…do you have a kitty with you? My nose and ears are screaming at me.” It’s not necessarily a problem if he came in here with his pet, but this bear wants to be informed about everyone that comes in here.
My pride icon is a genderfluid ace Teddie flag. Might as well talk about the other half of that combo now.
Teddie as a shadow was born genderless. By default the bear form has no gender and no sexual characteristics beyond what a normal teddy bear has. Even in the P4 art book his bear form’s gender is labeled as “Male?”. Bear Teddie only refers to himself as male to fit a certain role, need, or bit such as when he wants to be a prince or knight to the girls. Besides that, Teddie is only a bear and nothing else. The reason Teddie learned to default himself as male and make his human form present as such is a combination of the team socializing him this way and because of his attraction towards girls. In heteronormativity, relationships default to m/f. So if Teddie wants to date girls he believes it is to his benefit to present as a boy (no one taught him about lesbians). As his gender presentation is more of a means to an end, he does not have a strong attachment to it besides growing accustomed to the form and dress.

"I know that adding fractions can be difficult at first, but with enough practice, you'll be doing these in no time!"
"I get what you're saying, but...I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around it. When do I make make a big number next to it?"
((I really like mascot characters))
WE DON'T TALK ABOUT BRUNO!
"I ne-bear said Bruno."
