This was the last straw, Joshua was making a vow, no more field work. In this case, literally. When his coworkers had pitched their plan to hunt down rumors of crashed UFOs, it had sounded like a fun weekend road trip, but now he was alone in the middle of nowhere in a muddy cow field, trudging towards the barn of some backwater farmer who would probably shoot him for trespassing and it really made him miss his warm lab back in Eureka. Catching sight of a man he assumed to be the farmer, he gave an awkward wave.

“Excuse me? You haven’t seen a couple of geeks with metal detectors looking like idiots, have you?”
