“Taka, that was so not cool!” Korra grunted, falling to the ground with Siku in her arms. She’d managed to catch a glimpse of the direction which Taka ran, but she was more concerned for the child she was still holding. “Siku, are you hurt?”
Siku was more drenched with water than anything else, very close to crying and confused about what Taka was trying to accomplish. “Where did she go?”
“I’m going to find out.” Korra said, sitting up and eventually standing up. She lifted Siku again and carried her back towards the large tree that sat between the portals. “I need you to be brave and watch the tree for me, can you do that? The spirits will watch it with you, but it’s important that you stay here.”
Siku sniffled and wiped her eyes with her already-wet sleeve and nodded.
“Thank the spirits the sky is clear tonight.” Desna said. He wrapped his arms around Aiko and hugged her, then placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. “We’ll move as fast as we can. Try and eat something, please? You haven’t eaten much today.”
