Despite Obi-wan’s hopes, he watches Anakin charge straight for the Sith disembarking the shuttle. He can feel his chest seize and…
The Force does not feel guilt, padawan. It is as it is, and it moves us forward without remorse.
Sometimes, it feels like he can still hear his old master berating him in the back of his mind, no matter how many years pass. Always with reminders and reality checks when he needs them most. Taking two steps, Obi-wan throws a hand out, throwing the troopers aiming at Ahsoka onto their backs. The next move cleaves a pair of troopers in two and frees him to run forward, joining Anakin just in time to catch the red-hot saber blade against his own.
❝ You are my failure, not his, and he shall have the support you did not. ❞ He shoves Darth Vader back, putting space between them. Standing shoulder to shoulder with Anakin, he takes his defensive stance.
❝ Don’t listen to him, Anakin. Things will be different, this time. ❞

Anakin’s attacks weren’t being coordinated. He was being so dominated by anger that all of his hits were furious, blind strikes that the Sith Lord could easily block with his red blade.
“I WON’T BECOME LIKE YOU!!!” Anakin shouted as he striked another hit towards Vader. “I HATE YOU!!!”
The Sith Lord locked his blade with Anakin’s and tried to push him away. “Yes, use your aggressive feelings. Let the hate flow through you. Strike me down with all your hatred and your journey towards the dark side will be complete.”
Anakin was using all his strenght to push Vader away as their blades were still locked together. “Nggh….. N-NEVER!!!”
He was managing to push the Sith Lord away with his blade using all his strenght, but Vader managed to turn the tables by using the Force on Anakin and pushing him away. Just when he was about to strike Anakin,Obi-Wan joined the battle.
“Master! Let me fight him! Go help Ahsoka!” Anakin shouted as soon as he saw his Master confront the Sith Lord. Obi-Wan’s words confused Anakin for a moment, but he wouldn’t dwell on them now.
“Obi-Wan Kenobi. It’s been years, but I will destroy you once more.” He says after being pushed away by his former Master, coming closer, his red lightsaber casting a sinister light over his dark robes.
Anakin rose to his feet and came to stand side by side with Obi-Wan, glaring at Vader. “I won’t let you.” He says to Vader, then glances at Obi-Wan. “I won’t let him hurt you, Master. I’m not like him, I’ll never become like him.”

There had always been an emphasis on finding your moment in a fight, turning the tables, knowing when you are needed. That’s how jedi are trained, of course—it’s how she was trained, and such things have always come easily to her. Now, she can see it; Vader distracted, and just the opening she needs to get involved.
Anakin could not have won this alone, of course. Not yet. Especially not fighting so recklessly, as he’s been, and she can see where things will go if she doesn’t join, now. Darth Vader had gotten stronger by far over the years; stronger in the force, and a better lightsaber duelist. The only thing that had gotten worse in comparison to her master was his speed, and even then, not by much. Still, she saw the one moment where she could take advantage of that now. Obi-Wan had just joined the fight, and he isn’t paying quite as close attention to her.
If there’s one thing Ahsoka is, it’s fast. The way cleared now, she leaps out of the sidelines, feet against his armored chest, and drags her lightsaber up through the air. He pulls backwards just enough that she only grazes him (this, this is strangely familiar) but the blow is still enough to send him backwards halfway to his knees, sparks flying. She leaps to the other side of him, away from the boys so that he has to turn around to face her, and then rolls to keep her footing.
Ahsoka doesn’t need to punctuate her fight with words. It’s obvious what she’s done: given them an opening. Vader, mask cracked, turns to face her—this is when she knows she’s accomplished exactly what she wants, and also that there’s a very real chance that may be the only thing she can offer them during this battle.
❝ Not this time, ❞ Vader says to her, the voice-mod on his helmet burned through and broken, speaking in the same familiar voice as on Malachor, ❝ Ahsoka. ❞
All of this happens in an instant. He raises a hand as he’s speaking, grips her with the force (not so noble a tactic, not so honorable a duel, this time.) and throws her backwards into one of the buildings across the road, with even more strength than she can claim to have been expecting. Here is her second stroke of poor luck: through the already-shattered front doors, she impacts with a column that had already been damaged. Either by some previous fight in the area, or during the earlier disasters. It cracks, as she tumbles to the marble floor underneath it, and then collapses. Above her, several tons of rock begin to do the same.
She jumps to her feet. Her reflexes are good, but when she steps to jump out of the way of the tumbling debris, her injured leg buckles underneath her. Bad favor, bad fortune.
(now, this reminds me of Malachor. the rumblings of destruction, the feelings of dread.
I’m sorry, Anakin. I lied to you, earlier, when I said I wouldn’t leave. I know you can change things. I know they can be different, this time. We can catch up, later.
