Death By Anything II Loki and Natasha
Giving the god in front of her an impassive look, Natasha replied âGetting some peace of mind, Loki.â She had been thinking about recent events on the island, trying to figure out who could be behind the kidnapping and why. While she hadnât cared to learn much about the nurse, Ellie seemed to have very few enemies.
âIâd like to ask you the same question.â She continued, an eyebrow beginning to raise. Was she the reason he seemed amused?
âYou look chipper today. â
"Chipper."
The word came out in a bit of an amused tone, his eyebrow arched and lifted. There was something rather funny about this woman, something almost charming, despite the fact that she downright annoyed him.Â
"Interesting choice of words... are you presuming to be able to read me, now, Agent Romanoff?"
He grinned with those perfect teeth bared, and lifted his chin a little.Â
OOC:
Boo.
Death By Anything II Loki and Natasha
It was a quiet morning on Tony Starkâs island. Most of the students appeared to be occupied somewhere. Predictably the beach, restaurant, mall or other facilities. Natasha was sitting in the restaurant, alone at a table in the corner. She had her arms crossed on the table, her facial expression indicating that she could be either thinking or plotting.
Hearing the door to the restaurant open, Nat shook her train of thought out of her mind and looked up to see who had entered through the door.Â
Taking a seat across the table from her, he smirked, folding his arms on the surface of it. This was certainly interesting, at least the look on her face was - intense thought always interested him, and so did Agent Romanov; particularly since she had outwitted him in some form or another. She was worthy of his respect, and his interest.Â
"So,"
He spoke evenly, a little smile still playing on thin lips after a few moments.Â
"What is a woman like you doing in a place like this? Particularly,"
He continued smoothly.
"With an expression so troubled?"
OOC: I'm here.
Greetings.
She walked down the halls, not really paying attention, just picking a random turn here and there, or following his lead, if she noticed him heading a certain way. She was thinking of something to say, or trying at least. Sheâd always liked that neither she nor Loki had been the type to fill every moment with chatter (well, she usually wasnât), but now chatter seemed like a distracting option. Her problem was that every time she tried to find a topic, her mind ended up circling back to tonight. Giving in to it, she glanced over at him, trying to phrase it better. She didnât want to pry into the circumstances, but she wanted to know. Always wanting to know more; at least she was still herself under it all.
âDoes it really get easier, or do you just get used to it?â she asked, looking at him, waiting for an answer. She had heard all these things, all the usual answers, all the cliches all her life, but she had no actual proof that they were true. She wanted to know what to expect.
"I do not think that my experiences will be the same as yours. For me, it got ... more familiar. It never gets easier, only more finite."
He didn't mind discussing it with her - he was more than capable of burying his feelings and thoughts, and now was no different. The deaths he'd seen, the betrayals he'd felt; they were nothing compared to what this young woman was going through at that very moment.Â
"I suggest you do not force yourself to move on."
Glancing up at her, he offered a slight smile.
"Wait until you are ready."

Rooming Together || Loki & Ryan
Unable to continue staring at the picture for long, he let his eyes wander as he waited for Loki to reply to his words. He pursed his lips at the quip about listening to himself, then shrugged. It was good advice, but it was also easier said than done.Â
âIsnât that like, a double edged sword, though? Because sometimes my ideas arenât very gooââ His words were cut off, because Loki stepped out of the freaking shower, naked as the day he was born. Making this sort of strangled gasping noise, Ryan retreated from the bathroom and willed his cheeks to stop being so fucking pink. Heâd seen another manâs junk before, thatâs not what had him freaking out.Â
The thing that had him freaking out was that that was his mentorâs junk. âGod I need brain bleach or somethinâ now.â Ryanâs voice was a low whine as he covered his face with a hand.Â
Failing to see what the big deal was about, he just shook his head and began towelling himself off, drying the water droplets from his perfect skin. He only has one scar, and that is one he cares little to discuss - the rest of his body is smooth and unblemished. After drying, he dressed in something a little more relaxing, and made his way out of the bathroom, not even bothering with an apology.
"So, we have established that you need to begin listening to yourself."
So, students.
I do hope everyone is enjoying their vacation?
Rooming Together || Loki & Ryan
âWell I meanââ Ugh, what did he mean?Â
Turning the doorknob slowly and poking his head into the room, Ryan scowled. âI dont wanna completely ignore you. But weâre supposed to get to know each other.â Right? âSo I think itâs awkward if we just, ya know. Ignore each other for the next two weeks?â This wasnât coming out right, and he was talking himself in circles, like he usually did when it came to his stupid mentor. Damn it all to hell.Â
Ryan groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose. âAlright, whatever, ignore all that. Iâll just follow your lead, or somethinâ. Because thatâll make more sense. Yeah.â When he realized he was staring at the dark curtains, he looked away, instead at a picture of flowers on the wall.Â
He was listening, but chose not to speak as he let Ryan talk himself out of everything he said to begin with. Smirking a little, he lathered shampoo into his long hair, then rinsed, then washed his body. Only after finishing all that, did he speak.Â
"You know, you really ought to listen to yourself from time to time. You may learn a thing or two."
And then, without shame, he drew back the curtain and stepped out, wrapping a towel around his waist. Nudity wasn't something Asgardians were ashamed of, and he felt that Ryan could deal with the ten seconds that he'd just seen.
Rooming Together || Loki & Ryan
Ryanâd been still chewing on his lips, trying to think of a way to get out of rooming with Loki, when the devil walked in and pretty much ignored him, because clearly the bathroom was way more interesting.Â
He held up his hand, opened his mouth, and prepared to say something rude about being ignored, but then dropped his hand and closed his mouth. Maybe this was for the better, if they both just ignored each other?
After standing up and fixing his shirt and shorts, Ryan went to the bathroom door and knocked on it. He wasnât a complete barbarian, and plus, he wasnât sure he wanted to see Loki undressing himself or something. Thatâd probably turn him into a blushing teenager again.Â
âSo, uh, are we just gonna ignore each other the whole trip? Because Iâm totally cool with that and shiâ stuff.â Damn. Censoring himself was stupidly complicated.Â
"I was not aware that you wanted to communicate in any way."
The voice was soft and smooth, as usual, and he was smirking as he undressed. Stepping into the shower, he pulled the dark curtain closed, and continued.
"You can open the door."
He didn't care if he was seen, though the curtain would ensure that he wasn't. That would definitely help with any discomfort the student might possibly have in such a situation.
Rooming Together || Loki & Ryan
âYou have got to be shitting me.â
No. It couldnât be. That was complete and utter bullshit. Wasnât it, like, illegal, or something, for mentors and students to room together? If not, it certainly should be. Because this was stupid.Â
In addition to that, Mr. Jared (Chimera), who is also a part of this event but who is also deemed as unstable and is prone to resort to act violently, is assigned to room with Mr. Laufeyson instead of a student.
âUnstable and prone to resort to act violentlyâ?!â Ryan groaned loudly as he stomped into his room âtheir roomâ and tossed his suitcase down. âIâve only been suspended twice! And the second time wasnât even my fault!â Had it been? Shit, he couldnât remember.Â
Regardless of his⌠regular, nature, the fact of the matter was that Ryan was pissed off that he had to room with Loki. Did the god even sleep? Thatâd be creepy as shit to fall asleep, only to realize that Loki was just fucking watching him. Chewing the inside of his lip, he plopped down onto the bed and waited for his mentor to show up. Damnit, this was gonna be hell.Â
Arriving at the room he had agreed to share with Ryan, he unlocked the door and headed inside, not caring whether or not the young man is ready or decent. Passing through, he heads for the bathroom, intending to shower and wash his skin. He's tense and slightly sore, though he's enjoying the island for the most part.Â
He can intuit that Ryan doesn't appreciate being roomed with him, but he doesn't care either way - the boy is a student, and he is the mentor. If he could control himself, maybe things would be different, but they aren't.Â
OOC:
Would anyone like to begin/continue a thread?
You do these things when I donât have ideas. I donât like you very much right now.
Do you ever like me?Â
OOC:
Would anyone like to begin/continue a thread?
She moved to the door, similarly not concerned with her own appearance, so much different from her usual well-put-together look. If nothing else, she was pretty sure it was still so early that most of her fellow students wouldnât be awake, despite many having a penchant for staying up late. She paused next to him at the door, stopped by his question. Frowning, Mina realized she hadnât really thought that far ahead. Blinking up at him, she lifted a shoulder in a small shrug. âAnywhere, really,â she told him. âJust⌠not sitting still.â She knew sheâd have to deal with this all sooner or later, but she had no qualms at the moment of making it as late as possible.
"Very well."
He didn't mind the fact that she didn't have a destination in mind; he was more than happy to take her wherever she wanted to go. Waiting, he followed her out of the room, and down the corridor. She looked rough, of course, but even if anyone was awake, with the way she was looking he didn't feel that anyone would bother her - she looked ragged, distraught at the very least.
"Is there anything you wish to discuss? Anything that would help you in any way?"
Trolls in Central Park
In the end, this walk didnât turn out to be something he needed. No matter how good it felt to feel the fresh breeze caress his skin, or the sunâs warm rays, he canât find the time to appreciate those things, not when his mind was in complete turmoil, and it was taking every ounce of him not to break. Not him, too. Not again.
He kept a few steps ahead from his father as they walked back to the base. He didnât even turn his head to see if he was still there. All he wanted was to go back. He was better off alone, he thought. Talking with Loki only made his mind more clouded than it already wasâso many questions, questions that he wanted answered and unanswered at the same time.
He was supposed to be mourning for Alex only, and that was already a hard enough task.
He wasn't sure what the matter was, especially now. He had done nothing but try since arriving at TSI; try to help his sons, assist them in their growth, and protect them to the best of his ability. He had tried to teach them, to given them what they had been without for so long, but every time he conversed with them, it seemed that they were going backwards instead of forward.
There was nothing he could say, nothing he could do to help them, especially the one son who seemed to need it the most. Walking, he waited, waited for something, anything to give him some direction.
Trolls in Central Park
Not his trueâwhat?
At this point, his thoughts of mourning and his brother were suddenly forgotten, and despite his earlier promise that it was better left in the dark, he couldnât help but feel genuinely curious about Loki and Thor. Then again, he should have known, right? Loki didnât resemble Thor at all. In fact, almost everything about the God of Mischief was a contrast to the God of Thunder, both physically and mentally.
He leaned back on the bench as well, pursing his lips a little. It looked like Vali and Narfi werenât the only ones unsure of their origins.
He sighed heavily and stood up. âI want to go back now,â he said all of a sudden, his tone hard and cold for some reason.
His brows furrowed as soon as Narfi spoke, and he nodded once before standing up straight once again. Squaring his shoulders, he managed a little smile.
"Certainly. We can walk back the way we came."
He could tell - at least, he assumed - that what he had said about his own brother had made some amount of sense to Narfi; that is, given the fact that they seemed so unsure of their parentage until only recently. Waiting for his son to take the first few steps, he kept his expression mostly neutral, except for the smile on his face, supportive and unwavering.
