As for writing style, I tend to use small text, and likely be iconless. from time to time I will use Sibel Kekilli in GoT. Alt fc of Esra Bilgiç since it's incredibly hard to get icons of Sibel for Shae

I am selective and private, meaning I only rp with mutuals. I have had a bad experience in the past rping Shae -- in that there are misconceptions about her due to her role as a sex worker so there is trepidation here

I will not follow anyone under 21. This is due to the nature of Shae's background and as per previously mentioned, bad experiences in the world of tumblr rp.

Please don’t take me not following you as a sign of me disliking you! Sometimes I merely don’t follow because I might not know the media a character is from and thus don’t feel 100% comfortable since I have no scope in the subject.

The cobblestones beneath her feet glistened with the oily sheen of dock town’s endless activity, air rich with brine, sweat, and the SHARP tang of fish left too long in the sun. Shae’s shoes, scuffed from years of trudging roads she’d rather forget, felt HEAVIER than they should have. Beside her, Gallus seemed to move with the quiet grace of someone who knew the shadows well, her presence a steady counterweight to the tide of memory threatening to pull Shae under. “I’ve always walked where others pointed,” Shae began, her voice low, the words peeling away like a scab. “A girl like me? You learn quick there’s power in pleasing, even when it leaves you hollow. A glance, a touch, A PROMISE NEVER KEPT—enough to buy a little protection, a little bread. Some called it survival, but it felt like C-H-A-I-N-S.” She paused, letting the ache settle, then exhaled a soft, bitter laugh. “But the truth is, I’ve never thought to leave the work behind. It’s what I know, what I’m good at. It’s not the selling that weighs on me—it’s the way they twist it, make you feel small, like you’re less than the sum of what you give.”

Her gaze drifted to the sea, restless waves glinting like hammered silver. “Here, though… it’s different. Maybe it’s the salt in the air or the sound of gulls, but it reminds me of what little I can call home—or at least, the closest thing I’ve had to it. I don’t want much, just work that is MINE, on my terms.”

Close to a roaring fire, Shae felt her damp clothes clinging to her like the remnants of the storm she had barely escaped. The warmth of the flames licked at her skin, coaxing life back into her chilled fingers, but the chill in her bones was STUBBORN, as if it had found a home there long ago. & Her gaze drifted to the steaming cup set before her, and she frowned. Truth be told, she had never cared for tea. The aroma—delicate and earthy, whispering of herbs plucked from faraway hills—always seemed to promise more than it delivered. Sometimes, all it offered was fragrance without substance, a h o l l o w comfort in a cup. 

“Tea warms only the body, your grace,” she murmured, her voice roughened by the cold and softened by a weariness that went deeper. “And the body is a TRAITOR, no matter how much you coax it with comforts. It’s the soul that chills, that freezes when trust is thinned by the KNIVES of the world.” 

The fire was beginning to calm down, now crackling softly as Shae tilted her head, her dark eyes meeting Rhaenyra’s. There was no bitterness in her gaze, only the quiet defiance of a woman who had built her strength on the ruins of her faith in others. “But if it pleases you,” she added, her tone lightening as she reached for the cup, her fingers steady now as the blood had begun to resume its course. With a flick of her wrist, she lifted it as though offering a toast. “I will drink, and pretend, as all women do, that warmth is enough.”

Shae looked at the woman before her, and a shadow of Sansa’s face flickered in her memory—the delicate, open features of a girl who had once believed in noble promises, who had held onto her innocence like a precious stone, polished by her dreams of songs and knights. Shae had seen what the Red Keep had done to her, how it had shaped and SHARPENED her, shifting that innocence into something edged and unyielding. She had watched Sansa learn to wear masks and wield words like blades, her spine tempered to steel as she became a player in the grand game that sprawled across Westeros like a web.

But Shae knew she was NOT the piece on the cyvasse board that carried weight. She had no armor of noble blood, no shield of influence to deflect the harshness of the court. Her role was to slip between the cracks, to SURVIVE in the spaces where no one noticed her, like a shadow in the corner of a tapestry woven with the fates of kings and queens. She was not the dragon nor the lion (or even the crowned piece that others rallied around). She was a PAWN, one that could be cast aside without a second thought, a small, silent figure meant to be forgotten by the players who steered the game.

As much as Shae wanted to believe her, to fall into the comfort of that promise and let it anchor her to something steady. But she had lived long enough to know that promises like these could be as fleeting as morning mist, that words without the weight of power were like feathers scattered in a storm. “Promises are for queens and knights,” she said quietly, her voice carrying a touch of bitterness, though softened by a strange, wistful acceptance. “For those who matter. For pieces on the board that make the world stop and listen.” The woman’s face fell slightly, a flash of pity or understanding passing through her eyes, but Shae was not asking for sympathy. She had walked too far down her path to expect protection. She had learned to survive on her own, in ways those with noble blood could never understand. “But you…” Shae’s voice softened. “Hold onto that hope, if you can. Maybe it will protect you. Maybe you’ll find something real in it.”

Hesitatation marks her features, fear perharps? her heart a small flutter in the vastness of the dragon’s shuddering sigh, that low rumble, a sound from DEEP within the belly of the world. She felt the earth pulse beneath her feet, bones and echoes rattling, something vast and ancient at the edge of the present—the way a storm looms close enough to TASTE the salt in the air. And there, beneath the unblinking gaze of the dragon's great eye Turstin’s hand was a simple thing—so human, so small against the immensity.

Shae stared at his hand, as though in its outstretched form lay both her DOOM and her SALVATION. She wondered if this was what it felt to be in the presence of a SACRED figure—ancient, familiar, yet as strange as glimpsing the shape of a half-remembered dream, something both hers and not hers, slipping between memory and myth. She swallowed, the words thick in her throat, finally managing to whisper, “What good is my hand in all of this?” She lifted her gaze to him,“You’re asking me to trust in something…I can barely understand.” Her voice softened, the tremor in it barely noticeable. “But if I take your hand… what happens next?”

{☾} Her eyes glance up from the embroidery in her lap, the small smile on her face dying. A warmth spreads along her cheeks, nose wrinkling softly--almost embarrassed that she had been caught daydreaming. "I haven't had much to smile about in the past few days, I'm afraid, Shae," she hums softly, brown eyes flickering over her maid, back to the work at hand.

Darning her husband's shirts while the fire snapped and crackled. Tyrion would be in the council for hours, she assumed--they had all heard how RAUCOUS and obnoxious King Joffrey seemed. It made her stomach turn--the cruelty of the King and his mother. And they had her cousin in their grasps.

She lets the silence hang between them for a few moments before she gestures for her lady to join her in the chair across from her. Shae was perfectly cordial, kind--and yet, the woman had featured in more of her anxious nightmares than she would like to admit. Any fool would have had to be blind not to notice the almost...TERRITORIAL way Shae was around her husband. It had made Alicent uncomfortable. Like she was a ghost. A consolation prize.

It had bothered her so much that she had approached Tyrion the night before and asked him: what was Shae to him? What was her place now?

She had been pleased by his honesty--even if he had seemed just as uncomfortable as she was. Even more so, she was pleased that he loved her. Just as she had grown to love him.

Alicent returned her eyes back to her work, humming softly. "...Is it hard? Pining for a lost love?" She asks thoughtfully, sincerely. If Shae wanted an excuse to leave, an excuse to free herself from serving the woman who supplanted her...she would offer it. "I've never been in love before now. My father...well, Lady Olenna, arranged this marriage for me. I...the closest thing I had known was the love from my books."

Shae’s gaze softened, though she held it steady, watching Alicent’s delicate hands—nimble and practiced, guiding needle and thread as if attempting to coax petals to unfurl across silk. The fire crackled between them, casting shadows on the walls that danced like whispering secrets, and Shae felt the weight of her own name turn heavy on her shoulders, the weight of being someone’s SECRET, someone’s buried desire. And here was Alicent, her new lady, with skin that seemed untouched by the world’s hard edges. It was strange to Shae that the topic had turned to LOVE, to hear Alicent speaking of it as if It were a new garment—soft, warm, and hopeful.

Her own lips tightened into a polite smile, though her spirit ached with old memories that Alicent, in her quiet innocence, might not quite possibly imagine. Love was a dangerous word in her world. It was like a warm whisper on a damp night, a stolen glance in a crowded room. BUT love could also STARVE, SCORCH, or DROWN you. Truth be told, Shae was not even sure if she had ever truly experienced it. Perhaps a semblance of it... Others had told her that it tasted of freedom but she had also seen how that same said love had soured to ash on their tongue. And yet, hearing Alicent, tentative and fresh as a morning bloom, made her wonder what love might feel like if it could grow in sunlight instead of shadows. But there was no room for illusions, NOT HERE, not in this city of daggers cloaked in silk and fine, practiced smiles.

As if she had been holding her breath, Shae released it in a soft sigh, one that carried memories and bitterness, words she had swallowed a thousand times. “Pining,” she repeated, tasting the word as if it were foreign. “Love is never what we think it is, my lady. It comes like a storm, sweeps you away, and when it leaves, all you’re left with are the ruins you clutch in the dark.”

Lifting her gaze to Alicent, her eyes softened yet weary, “You’re lucky,” she continued, attempting to shift her response, her voice a murmur edged with something like wistfulness. “Lucky to have learned love from books, to see it as something BEAUTIFUL, w h o l e. In my world, it’s more of a bargain—a trade of dreams for safety.” A faint, wry smile tugged at her lips. But it seems I’ve always been a poor bargained... she wanted to add, but did not.
