was recently thinking about the "David who never stopped looking line" and came up with a little storyline if you'd so like

david is buying an anniversary present for yuna, being their first anniversary after Shane dissapeared he goes to a jewellery store for an engraving on a locket

shane is also buying an anniversary gift, for ilya

as Shane leaves the jewellery store, David enters. it takes him a moment to realise before he runs back out, shooting after shane. Shane is gone in the snow

David maintains a hypervigilance now, thinking at any moment he'll see Shane again. and this time he'll actually catch up to him

shane takes this as a sign to move even further then they already were.

ironically, David only catches glimpses of ilya from then on. but he chalks that up to tired eyes and never says any of those sightings to anyone.

Shane Hollander dies on a Sunday. On Wednesday, Cliff Marlow drives north to Montreal, sitting in the passenger seat of his own car.

ilya has to remove himself from shanes memory through dissecting his home, through cliff's perspective.

truly gorgeous writing style, love pov outsider so much. the depth given to cliff whilst also being exactly what I imagined for him is quite incredible.

also terrifying premise, one left with only them and the knowledge of their relationship. perfect fic really.

the A/N also came with a film rec, "Tom on the Farm (2013)", which I will most definitely be seeing. (man goes to his partners funeral in a place foreign to him, to a grieving family that didn't even know their son was queer - psych thriller)
