Whoever this "02" is, their amusement at the situation was cut short as the fox lashed out against them. He heard nothing but crackling and other noises as the device slammed against the wall and slid down onto the floor. There was silence for a good while, and then, when the fox thought they had left, a sigh came through the low-quality frequency. "Okay. Maybe the whole set up of this operation's making me come off different. ... I'm not trying to upset you, bud. I'm just playing a game..."
Another sigh. "Look. I'm not anyone bad. I promise. That's why I stopped by and made that comment about the Empire. 'Cause it's not as bad as y' think. .. I'm here for a reason. I just. Can't reveal myself yet. You know how Ivo can be. Always with the dramatics and stuff."
Although the room had gone quiet, none of the same could be said for the thoughts and emotions coursing through Tails’ whole being. The anger, the self-doubt, the overwhelming feeling of being put down.
He stood, unmoving. Hands shaking in tight fists, but heavily breathing as a result of the shortfall. Maybe it was as though his body felt that if he did not move an inch, the ‘threat’ on his conscious would just disappear.
His ear flickered slightly as the sound returned to the Electric, although it was dimmed out by the internal noise of his head. Only certain words were picked up. ‘Set up... bud... a game’. Tails brought himself back, slowly regaining focus on his surroundings again. Why was this person trying to act like they were his friend now?
‘Look. I’m not anyone bad. I promise.’
The voice rambled on further, and as it did so a slight cord was struck somewhere in the fox. This person... sounded familiar? It was hard to tell through the static and corruption, but it was the way that they talked. Too familiar and yet, not entirely identifiable.
‘You know how Ivo can be. Always with the dramatics and stuff.’
Ivo? Man, the person this voice belonged to must’ve been highly trusted by Eggman to be allowed to use his first name. Maybe, that’s why they were able to hack in. Maybe they were skilled enough to do something like this, or at least had help from the guy himself.
Tails smirked slightly, while blinking back shameful tears for his outburst. If anyone could ruin all of his security systems within a short period of time, it would definitely be Eggman. Heh, at least that could explain that part, but the fact the voice could not reveal who they were or what the purpose of this event was, still left him confused and hollow.
It took all of Tails’ willpower to overcome his paralysis and move to the fallen device; giving it a quick glance over to assess the damage caused. ‘Screen’s cracked. I’ll need to fix that,’ he thought to himself as he gingerly picked the Miles Electric up. He stared at the device for a few minutes longer, whipping up the courage to physically say something in return. Anything.
“...I don’t know who you are but please, don’t do this again,” he whispered weakly. “I mean, not without being able to say your reasons. I-.. I just can’t handle stuff like this right now okay?”
