Anakin's act was defeating the darkness in the galaxy to save his son.

Rey's act was defeating the darkness in oneself to save the galaxy.

This came up in an email to a fellow Star Wars fan and I wanted to leave it here for anyone still saying Rey shouldn't have been a Palpatine.

It was necessary for the ending of the saga.

The bloodlines are an integral part of the story. Light vs Dark. The dyad is the balance.

Normal nobodies save the day in star wars all the time (look at Rogue One) but the Skywalker saga is about defeating Palpatine, and no one but Rey Palpatine-Skywalker could have done it.
