winter’s breath ;

winter is ending. jack knows it just as well as the calendar does, the days already ticking past when the first day of spring technically started. thankfully, nature doesn’t always listen to man and the calendar he made to understand her shifts and changes and snow still covers the earth in a fluffy white blanket. jack’s influence over the weather was minor, but where mother nature dumped the temperature and snow he danced across roads and sidewalks leaving icy patches and rather treacherous conditions. a mischievous streak made watching innocents slip and stumble all too amusing to him.

it’s inevitable that the first breath of winter and mother nature cross paths at some points in their never ending lives, though jack still freezes ( pun definitely intended ) when he hears his name. he doesn’t know exactly what he did to piss sohee off, but he hears the tone of her voice anyways.

“you’re allowed to be happy to see me, y’know,” he speaks to her loftily, unconcerned with the difference between their ages, their powers. “winter isn’t over just yet.”

it’s with childlike glee that he rests his fingertips against the cold wall of a building and lets lacy patterns of frost spread across the glass and stone and obscuring the view from the inside. he thinks that sohee might be more reactive if he had been playing around with a tree or with some poor stubborn flower, but there’s nothing so convenient nearby so he settles for just showing off the beauty of what he can do.

“thanks for another snow day, mama nature,” he grins at her, removing his hands and watching his work crawl to a slow stop. “i love long winters.”

she’s not happy to see him not even remotely so.

she’s not sure why but perhaps an embodiment of winter (whatever form it may be) made it easier for her to refocus her unbridled hatred of the season. she’s also given him the cold shoulder (ha!) but he’s never given her a reason not to in return.

he’s cocky, far too reckless with his powers and seem to be every version of winter that she hates. personified into one single being. so of course mother nature wasn’t kind to frost’s first touch. he was an asshole.

“it should be,” she responds flatly. she looks mostly out of place. she wears jeans and a sweater and a scarf just to keep up appearances. but compared to those around her she’s severely underdressed. of course weather doesn’t affect her like it does other fables and especially not in the way it affects mundies. she’s immune and being an all encompassing sprite, she’s immune to all forms of extreme weather. unlike jack, she knows, who is only immune to winters.

her eyes watch as the ice spiderwebs from the tips of his fingers, scaling up the building. it’s a look of horror, should anyone know how to read her expressions properly. “are you out of your mind?” she yells and immediately moves to counteract whatever damage he’s done. it only takes a flick of her wrist and the ice quickly melts off. she trains her fury onto him.

“that’s how building erode. you want that structure to crumble? do you want those mundies to die?” she should just finish him. it would be quick and easy, like snapping a toothpick. she glares unforgivingly. “i am not your mother.”

hell would freeze over before she became anything more than an acquaintance to that boy.

winter’s breath ;

for as long as she can remember -- which, in fact, spreads eons for both mundies and fables -- she’s always had an ambivalent relationship with snow.

of course she isn’t the only creation goddess nor is she the only goddess with powers of nature and the weather. but for the most part, the laws of the universe dictated for some force, whatever it may be, to counteract spring and life bringing. it came in the form of winter and death.

the frost of winter slows molecules and saps warmth: it takes life unapologetically and it’s ruthless with its work. yet, at the same time, it’s so incredible and beautiful. it creates art in the weirdest (to her, obviously) ways. with crystallised forms and glistening icicle shards -- it was dauntingly beautiful. murderous yet beautiful in all the same way.

if sohee could choose so, winter would be the best example to explain what love feels like. worrisome, deadly but oh-so beautiful at the same time. you could always prepare for it but you’re never really ready once it happens. (maybe that’s why she can’t hate the season wholly.)

 yet the sprite scowls in the midst of the harsh gusts of wind and the small flecks of snow pelts against anything in its wake (albeit softly). it’s march, far too late for it to be snowing but the tug of the universe demanded the snow and so she delivered.

and she hated herself for it.

it’s frosty in the worst way possible. it isn’t even cold despite the snow falling from the sky. any angrier and it’s almost certain that mother nature’s glare could thaw anyone. especially the one boy who seemed to thrive and frolic as the snow starts to blanket over the piles of snow still present from the blizzard earlier that week.

wonders of the world

it was very well planned, either by appointment or perhaps a one and one conversation where dean was saying how he wanted to see most of the world. he has the money and time, but he’s very lazy. plus there was the purpose of local museums. so during their past conversation about maybe a week ago, dean begged politely for sohee to show him where she works, at a museum.

she told him about the exhibits verbally and now he’s quite curious. and once he gets curious, he never stops to look at things for himself. you could say it comes with being a dog as they’re known to be curious and amazed by things.

so here he is, in his casual attire of a long coat with a vistitor’s pass sticker on his forearm, he waited patiently for sohee after asking for her from the front desk. whistling softly as he tapped his foot.

the museum of natural history was probably the easiest place for her to work out. although, she can say that she’s thoroughly impressed with all the knowledge humans were able to acquire about the past. there were still some fallacies here and there but for the most part, it was a job well done.

of course as mother nature she was naturally gifted with all the information. she passed any and every informational test they give out to tour guides to make sure they’re up to speed with information for any questions potentially thrown at them. sohee usually got first pick for any guiding tour. she was the very top guide.

it comes as no surprise when dean asks for her. in fact, most people at her job were used to sohee being asked for specifically for a one-on-one guide or to host a guide for a party. so when she sees dean, she smiles, and waves for him to follow her. even in his glamour, she can’t help but picture the small pup she knew. even if it had been ages since then.

“okay so i’m warning you right now: all the bones are fake. well, not all of them, but the ones outside of the glass cases usually are. no biting, okay?” she says sternly. the bones weren’t fully devoid of marrow, usually, so it would provide as a good chew toy. but they were dry and old. who knows if dean would like that or not.

“i’m going to take you through the bug exhibit. it leads us to the marine life part. i hope giant bugs don’t bother you,” she tells him pointedly. “follow me.”

little green monster ;

when she looks at him, she has to see nothing more than a murderer. it’s not a secret. many of the gods know this fact. she can’t offer any explanation: she can’t even deny his actions nor can she take responsibility for them. but she has to, as she brought this monster into this world.

but how is she to bring him out of it?

he catches her attention at the spectacle he’s creating in public. he’s angry, that much is clear, and all she could think was how dangerous that was. people were staring. the victim of his rage seems terrified. and peter? he looks downright murderous. it’s general cause for concern.

he’s nothing but a monster, she reminds herself. yet at the end of the day, she couldn’t have bigby’s wrath come down upon him. they were supposed to stay underneath the radar. surely, crazy things happen in new york but murder in broad daylight in front of people isn’t typical.

silently, she weaves through the flow of people and makes her way towards him. a crowd hadn’t formed just yet but there was a congealed bulk of people paused nearby watching. she reached him and grabbed him by the ear. she pinched at it with just enough pressure to cause discomfort. when she walked away, she pulled away hard enough to cause him actual pain and follow blindly.

“are you out of your mind?” she growled as they walked away from the situation. “do you want to be put in mundy jail? do you want bigby to devour you whole for your stupidity?” she yanked him closer to her. “are you asking for a death wish, boy?”

his body craved coffee. 

probably to the point where he relied on the hot beverage a little more then he probably should. but it wasn’t like he couldn’t live without it, no, rather his body needed it to function properly. needed it to make sure he stayed awake through the day, or to keep him going when all he wanted to do was sleep. he always blames working the long night shifts for the slight deterioration of his health.

so naturally when his nose had caught a small wiff of the stuff he couldn’t help but find himself going straight to the source. 

when she tries to warn him that he wouldn’t like it, he smiles in reply fingers snatching the cup a little too quickly they he probably realised. taking in a big sniff his smile deepens and suddenly finds himself raising the cup to his lips and taking a big sip —  clearly against what she wanted. it takes a moment or too but after a while he finally speaks up. “its.. strong… but its damn good. best stuff i’ve tasted in a while.” and he wasnt just saying that. 

she watches him take a drink with a pained expression. he takes a big swig and sohee already expects the worst: the spitting out, the hacking, the jumping around and trying (and failing) to get the taste out of their mouth. she’s dealt with it all before. she knows it’s coming. now she just waits.

he’s still and sohee feels as if he’s drunk too much of the coffee and perhaps he was going to throw up. she scrunches her nose in waiting. his reaction is concerning. but then--

“what?”

disbelief. never had she had anyone tell her it was good much less be able to tolerate it. he looked as if the coffee revitalised him. ....how? she narrowed her arms, crossing her arms together.

“are you sure you’re not sick....or something?” not that she would know or anything. but she has yet to meet someone to be able to tolerate her coffee. so she was, reasonably, suspicious.

need to know ;

if you were to ask sohee how she ended up in this position, she would simply tell you that she felt sorry for the kid: he didn’t even know the basics when it came to female anatomy. the way he would answer, it was a miracle that he even understood his own anatomy (although many live in ignorance).

so she took pity on him and promised to teach him herself -- because she wasn’t letting that tragedy step foot near a girl for sexual relations when he didn’t understand that the vagina wasn’t the same orifice they peed out of.

sohee told him they were starting from the beginning. whatever the beginning may be for him. at least they had the privacy of her home to teach him in. she told him to take a seat as she would sit in front of him. the best way to start was to gauge how much he knew (and how much he didn’t).

“tell me all the differences you know between a girl’s body and a boy’s body.”

Stars

stars: our characters under the stars together

the night sky was overcast, thick with clouds and the smog from the city obscuring the view of what nature had to offer for them. the city lights usually did a wonderful job of making sure that the stars were un-viewable but sohee found that if she go deep enough into central park, it’s almost like she’s in a forest.

but it had to be deep into the night, long after the guards stopped making their rounds and when everyone was finally offered entry into clubs (that were, thankfully, not near the park). there were nothing but museums and other establishments that were closed at this hour. so thankfully it was a bit quieter and darker in the area.

with a wave of her hand, she pushed the clouds out of her view to make a hole of some sort. she promised not to manipulate the weather while she was here but it was for a good cause.

the stars, from what sohee could allow them to see without getting caught, were twinkling faithfully in the sky. together, she and jackson laid on the dewy grass. she told him stories of the stars and the people who had great influence in the sky. it was almost amazing how many she knew.

“what about the moon?”

sohee’s eyes flickered to the silver orb in the sky. her face fell. she was sad (how could she not be?) and her heart felt heavy. it wasn’t a kind reminder to look at the moon. most days she managed to ignore it. others she found herself gazing longingly, brokenly. “i cut off my ties with the moon a long time ago,” she replied sadly. jackson fell silent. he felt as if he struck a sour cord with mother nature.

he opened his mouth to say something -- apologise at least. suddenly the sprinklers perked up and started to go off. he yelled in surprise and got up, running out of range from the water assault. sohee calmly stood and trailed after him, laughing.

“are you scared of a little water?” she teased. he huffed, insisting that he was not. she playfully flicked some water from her fingers at him. he flinched to avoid the droplets. she laughed again. “aww, poor pevensie doesn’t like water!”

people come and go. jisoo learnt such concept since the moment she exited out of her own fairytale. reminiscing her lost companions, the female never recalls faces anymore. names prickle down her hearing, each one trying to become important enough to stay. yet, they never do and the female ends up trying to remember medicine whose names become longer and difficult to spell. but, within the scientific names whose latin pronouncement taunted her, they were figures who penetrated the air she guarded with walls. one of them was mother nature herself stumbling upon earth, her graces never leaving her. which, to jisoo, it was an impressive, important feat.

she shoves her hands into the pockets of the coat that doesn’t cover her enough. her feet trailing inside central park where the atmosphere seems to be crying to the lonesome night. her thoughts wander as to why once her gaze turns to encounter sohee’s. there’s almost a calm within the zone she sat in, there goes the answer to her question.

jisoo slouches down beside the other, her ears perking up once hearing the other speak. there’s a hum in response, an understanding towards her. unlike her who could roam in the mundy world without any attachment, the other female was doomed to be responsible of it. but, there’s a part emotionally attached jisoo is and it’s the stars whose shine were lost within the clouds of smokes.

“that’s rather sad than interesting. but, at the end, aren’t you not going to destroy all the mundy?” it was a simple question, her tone remaining monochrome as she inquired. “because if so, you should take the chance to. at the end, you are still following his order.” there’s mockery brushing against her tongue, a smile slipping to her features.

the dark fairy next to her had been an unlikely companion. it’s a general assumption that villains don’t deserve redemption but jisoo seemed different. reserved, past her ways of evil from her time in the homelands. not like sohee would know (the spirit didn’t know everything about a person despite her powers).

she’s appreciative of the companionship.

she tosses a look over at the other. it wasn’t as if she’s had disdain for mundies. after all, they were only living. their own advancements would end up being their downfall. humans, from her experience, have the hunkering to grow. not in the sense of moralities (of course not). but in the sense that they want to be more advanced in the ways of conquering. to be the best for possibly all the wrong reasons.

humans craved power. usually they didn’t care who it destroyed. they just wanted to be on top.

so of course they never cared if the environment suffered. they never cared for who it would effect. had someone rich ever cared for the poor going hungry? no, they only care about the poor having to be supported on a system that doesn’t even support them properly. humans were selfish.

“eradicating humans would be a favour done for many,” sohee comments with a grunt. “depressing as it may be, humans are a plague. i wonder what their tall buildings and flying machines will do for them for the next coming ice age.” of course the ice age felt like a blink away to sohee, an immortal that was long since used to the passing millennia. for humans it was generations away, something to not worry about until it was too late. it was almost laughable. they couldn’t reverse the ice age. 

“one day when the earth stands still and they’re unable to be saved, maybe then they’ll realise that they shouldn’t have treated the environment so poorly. and i wouldn’t have to have lifted a single finger,” she tells the other. “it’s not that hard to be decent. we managed it well in the homelands. things turned so harsh so quickly here. mundies are destructive, more so than usual.”

sweet like candy ;

“caramel is sweet and, like chocolate, can improve anyone’s mood,” sohee tells him, offering him a salted caramel square. she smiles softly, her free hand petting his hair soothingly. “i feel as though many hype up chocolate but i find caramel to be just as good and just as rewarding. i also think all the quote-unquote ‘benefits’ of chocolate just comes from the social perception of how good chocolate is.”

though sohee couldn’t deny that chocolate was good. but the artificial stuff that they made here in america was hard to swallow sometimes. and apparently, not many liked “bitter” chocolate. sometimes it appalled her how new yorkers preferred something artificial like hersheys but then wanted to go to whole foods and drink a kale milkshake. it boggled her mind.

“if you want, we could get more. or perhaps a hot chocolate with salted caramel for this cold day?” she smiled over at hyungwon kindly. she’s always sweetest to creatures of nature, whom she fondly called her children. despite not actually giving them birth, she did aid in their living, hence her motherly status. she cared for them. her only wish was for them to seek out her help as much as she wanted to give it. “how does that sound?”

MILF || Event || Sohee&Hyosung

If someone were ever told that the holidays were unusual, they’d surely picture a tense thanksgiving or a hectic christmas but no one would picture Valentine’s day. But it was unusual this year for Hyosung. For one, she never needed purchased any type of potions, she never even needed glamour and she considered herself quite good at getting what she wanted. Another unusual thing was getting six vials of sexual attraction potion, the strong kind-it wasn’t as if she ever needed it. Unless someone was immune to her powers of attraction, she didn’t need some silly potions to get them into bed with her (though, women did tend to be just a bit harder given that not every woman had an interest in women). However, for the sake of trying it out and seeing if there was actually something she’d been missing out on, she got the potions.

As it usually goes, finding a target didn’t take too long for her. One glance into a small local cafe gave her the perfect woman to go after. Hyosung knew immediately that this woman wasn’t “human” despite her appearance. What she also knew was that the other woman was perfect and definitely someone she wanted under her. Everything from her eyes to her cheeks, her long dark hair, her hands…Hyosung was mesmerized by her beauty. It was a couple of days mission to figure out if the other woman frequented the cafe but once she learned that the other did, in fact, frequent the cafe, she wanted to put a plan in motion.

Early that morning she took an apron, and someone’s place, running orders out to tables. The confused employee was somewhere in the back, waiting to take their shift back as soon as Hyosung had gotten what she wanted (or the promise of it). She waited until her target arrived, ordered something and then slipped the sexual attraction potion from the vial to the drink and moved steadily towards the woman’s table. “Sohee” read the name on the cup that Hyosung was taking to the table. She arrived to where the other was sitting and set down the cup in front of her. “ Here’s your coffee, did you need anything else?” she asked, keeping the facade of being an employee. Hyosung made sure to flash her most charming smile as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and looked at Sohee in the eyes- for the very first time they were face to face and Hyosung had to admit, her thoughts hadn’t done the other woman justice.

people were ....interesting to say the least. many a mundy have assumed that sohee didn’t know english (for whatever reason). they speak slowly as if slower syllables would aid her comprehension. she lets them make idiots of themselves before staring at them and telling them plainly that she’s fluent in three different languages: one of them being english.

the looked incredibly stupid afterwards.

now, sohee wasn’t a mind reader -- sadly telepathy wasn’t one of the powers she had as mother nature -- but she can sense things about people. typically it’s surface things like if they’re a fable or a mundy. aside from that, she can usually detect what species they are. for mundies, it was easy for her to pick up their intentions. it’s saved her many times from lecherous mundy men. being mother nature had its perks, she had to admit.

but never had she encountered a demon. much a less a demon who obviously had alternative motives.

it was amusing to look at the other with her saccharine sweet smile. innocence was what was trying to be conveyed yet sohee could already feel a questioning look form on her face. a demon -- no a succubus acting kindly? perhaps this was her work establishment (which sohee highly doubted somehow) and she had to put up the façade.

but when the myth moved her attention to the drink, she could only deadpan. “a demon spiked my drink with sex potion.” she looked up at the other with a look of dismay and judgement. “if you were going to try something like this, maybe you should pick a less powerful target.” she pushes the cup away from her with a single finger. having it near her would do no harm but she wanted to make a show of her refusal.

“so tell me, succubus, why would you try to bed mother nature?”

bomb bomb ;

“so it’s not an actual bomb?” she questioned, rotating the circular bath agent in her hand. she smelled the artificial scent on it. though some of the bath “bombs” (as they were called) did have some natural ingredients. just not all of them from what she could tell.

sohee put down the one she had and opted for the blue one. it was a nice colour. all of the bombs were horrifically hard. “what is their purpose?” she asked with a grimace. she wasn’t sure how or why they were looking at the other’s collection of these bath bombs. sohee didn’t see the purpose of it.

besides, if it had any effects on the skin, it wasn’t as if mother nature of all people really needed anything to make her skin glow. her skin was on the smoother side regardless.

cheese & crackers ;

melody’s voice truly was music to sohee’s ears. after things were said in done, sohee didn’t mind getting whatever the other pleased afterwards, even if it was something as ridiculous as cheese and wine. she slips out of them bed, unbothered by the cold and walking to the kitchen to retrieve her partner her snack.

she walks back to the room, cheese, a knife, two empty glasses and the bottle of red wine in her hands. she places the items on the nightstand. she pours the glass of wine for the other and only a little for herself. “is there a reason why you’re craving cheese and wine after sex?” sohee questions as she hands off the glass to the other.

“not that it’s an odd combination,” she continues. she hands over the cheese and the knife. “it’s just....oddly specific.” she slips back into the bed, pressing a kiss to the other’s neck. she hummed. “i suppose you didn’t get enough to eat, hm?”
