I’m a Ford girl through and through, but Chevrolet’s record in NASCAR is unmatched. Ford has the second-highest number of manufacturer’s championships, but it’s not even close--they have 17.
I used to have a Tumblr just for bad book reviews. I don’t feel like keeping up with that, though, so I’ll start posting them here.
The general idea is 1-star reviews that are worse than they claim the reviewed book to be. There’s lots of homophobia and semi-literacy. The first review here is for a book called The Book of Help, which I probably won’t read simply because it doesn’t interest me. I’m not sure if you can now hire overseas workers to leave negative reviews of books whose authors you hate or whether the customer had a stroke in the middle of writing.
The second review is for a book called Unf*ck Your Brain, which might reasonably be expected to use the word fuck a lot.
Promise I’ll format these better in the future.
I made dis.

Some things never change.
You’d think we could have managed it by now.
Kyle Busch is running an Ernie Irvan throwback scheme for Darlington this year!
That bass line > fucking everything else in Nashville since.

Bubba Wallace is my five-year-old’s second favorite driver because they have the same (nick)name.
If you die in Texas you respawn in the last Whataburger you went to.
Dear God, the last one I went to was the one downtown with all the fucking tourists. I’ll be dead again.
It actually took a trip to the bathroom at Half Price books to get the reference Sturgill Simpson was making with the title of his second album.
(I’m just not a big Ray Charles fan.)

Beamdog have revamped their website and are celebrating with a sale on some of the EE games (up to 60% off).
So I was really happy about this sale until I got double-charged because it said the payment didn’t process and prompted me to try again. Good thing I got the email receipt from PayPal before I tried a third time with my debit card!
So. Right after posting this I looked for contact info on the Beamdog page and sent a message through the link they give for refunds asking for a refund for $20 of the $40 because duh I’m not paying for the same shit twice.
Got an email back a few hours later saying no problem, they’ll refund me, but they’re switching over to a new payment system to it’ll probably take a couple of days.
Next email was “Well, we’re not going to process the refund, you have to request a refund through the payment service.” Which, fuck you, that’s not how businesses work; if I’m overcharged at the grocery store the grocery store fixes it not the debit card company. Also, if you can’t for some reason process the refund, tell me that to begin with.
Being unwilling to spend God knows how long fucking around with another company that may or may not feel like fixing things, so I just filed with PayPal. Which, yes, took a while but at least it was a definite thing. By the way, I’ve never had to file with PayPal before, in more than a decade of having an account with them. But it turned out to be fairly bloodless, thank Heaven, and now I can play my games without too much ill feeling, though this pretty much puts paid to my ever buying from this company again, since apparently they can’t be trusted not to a) screw up their payment system or b) simply fucking apologize and fix it like any normal business would.
