Stage Fright (1987) Soundtrack - Ballade for Corinne
Man Is The Bastard is a brutal fucking band.
guess who finally remembered the email to this blog :3c
::Regardless of whether or not you choose to lead, you will be a prominent figure of loyalty as you always have been. Soundwave will not return to us so long as Megatron is on the List. He will renounce us. Megatron must be dealt with.::
Tarn had wanted to find someone else to take charge of the Decepticon army. He and his DJD worked best from the shadows after all. But there were no Decepticons that came to mind who could possible fill Lord Megatron’s shoes. Tarn knew he couldn’t just leave the army without a leader in any good conscience.
He hated to admit it, but he was unsure of his skills in this department. Leading his division was one thing. Leading the entire Decepticon army was another. But still … someone had to do it.
:: Shockwave, upon considering your proposal I have decided that I will take command of the Decepticons. :: For now anyway. :: Lord Megatron being dealt with will be first priority. ::Â
Hopefully Tarn could sway his leader back to their side. That is if the Autobots had not shadowplayed Lord Megatron. The very thought set every wire in Tarn’s body aflame with anger.
logicon:
::Good.  Before you make it public,  you must gain their trust and approval.  For too long you were Megatron’s henchman sitting in the shadows.  His military police.  His personal thug to beat those who stepped out of line back into line.  We must reshape your image.::
Shockwave had not spent much time with Tarn, but the two phase-sixers he was in contact with were both very poor choices.  They were supposed to be the epitome of Decepticon power.  Embody every trait the Decepticons strove to embody themselves, but Overlord was… uncontrollable, and Black Shadow was a traitor.
::You will have to give up the personal mission of the DJD.  Either find a new mecha to take your place or assign one of your current team to the  head.  You cannot be a part of the darkest most shameful part of the Decepticon army and lead the rest of it.  You must move on.::
:: Reshape my image. Of course. Of course. :: Tarn was already feeling unsure about this. His “image” as a walking Decepticon symbol , as the leader of the DJD -- they were practically all he knew. All he was. He would have to ruminate on how to change that image into one of a leader for all.
:: The Division’s mission will be... temporarily paused. At least until the army is more of a coherent unit once more. My team will be at my side during this transition. :: Tarn would feel lost without his unit. Besides there were no other mecha he could think to fill up the slots of high command under his leadership better than his DJD. With Shockwave’s assistance he felt this transition could run rather smoothly.Â
All he had to do was hold onto power long enough for Lord Megatron to return to them. It wasn’t as if this was a permanent situation.Â

metalallcrgy:
Swerve lived up to his name admirably, jerking aside as the shot grazed past. “Warning shot? Seriously? What are you, a referree?” Oh no. Now he had that mental image in his processor. Damn it, he didn’t need a picture of Tarn in a stupid striped shirt like the humans wore in their sport games!
Tarn picked up the pace, but only a little. He wasn’t going to give Swerve the satisfaction of making him flat out run. Halfway through that jog he transformed into his tank mode and aimed the turret at the Autobot.
“I can and will shoot to kill.” Tarn had tapped into some hidden reserve of patience for this mission somehow. Perhaps it was from Kaon letting him sleep in a little today.Â
metalallcrgy:
“Yeah but you’ll probably kill someone else and that’s no good either!” He’d make some vague and probably rude gestures, but he was busy trying to run.
“Besides, I probably don’t know anything!”
Tarn sighed and raised his fusion cannons. “Warning shot!” He shot past Swerve, somewhat in front of the direction he was running towards. It wasn’t meant to hit him.
“I do tire of this game, Autobot. I’m in no mood to be chasing after minibots.”
@txrnal
“You know what? I just realized suddenly right this moment that I got something to do over there, sooo – bye?” Scoot scoot, off he goes. No little Autobots here, Tarn.
He really hoped the guy didn’t follow.
“You can’t run from me, little Autobot.” Tarn spoke evenly and followed after the fleeing minibot.
“I will not kill you so long as you give me the information I seek,” How true that statement was is up for debate knowing Tarn.
Tarn: But you're supposed to be dead!
Overlord: Yeah, and you're supposed to be dumpster diving for t-cog scraps, you six piece chicken McNobody.
control // halsey
Goddamn right, you should be scared of me                                 Who is in control?
logicon:
::I long to be in a place of value again. Â To be among the Decepticons as I always was. Â I stay in the murk and mire of the multiverse benefiting whatever Decepticons I find, but these are not my people. Â The Decepticons I serve here did not fight against the senate. Â Against oppression. Â They were not miners and slaves.::
It would likely be temporary. Â Tarn had always struck Shockwave as a follower, but that meant he would look to someone who had been a part of High Command for the entirety of the war for guidance. Â That he would look to Shockwave for guidance.
::Do think on it. Â And should you decide another mecha fits the role more precisely than you, put their name forward. Â Should I agree, I will support them.::
:: Your knowledge and expertise would be ceaselessly valuable to the Decepticon cause as the army begins to pull itself back together. You would most certainly have a place among us whether or not I decide to take leadership of the army. ::
The notion that Tarn could be the next leader of the Decepticons still befuddled him. Even if it was only temporary could he ever truly fill the void that Lord Megatron had left?Â
Tarn would most certainly be looking to someone like Shockwave for guidance if he did decide to take the role. Not only was Shockwave an individual who had experience as a part of High Command, but he had been somewhat of a teacher to Tarn long ago. A lifetime ago really.
:: Of course, Shockwave. I will get back to you with my decision once I reach it. ::
logicon:
::I sought to destroy the rest of the universe to give all the resources to Cybertron. Â To the Decepticons. Â I would be the guiding hand that allowed for true domination.::
Megatron’s defection had not been foreseen, but it could be played.  After all the only true resistance in the Decepticon ranks would be Soundwave, and even then he was truly only loyal to Megatron.
::I would put Soundwave’s name forward, but there are natural leaders and natural followers.  Soundwave has always been a follower.  I have always been a loner Tarn, but I do not believe Galvatron should be placed in charge.  Tell me.  Who is more loyal to the cause than you are?  Who commands respect more than you do?  I will return to my duties to ensure Decepticon victory no matter the cost, but it is up to those Decepticons who are true to the cause to find someone who should lead them.::
A pause.
::In short. Â No. Â I do not wish to lead. Â I think you should. Â The DJD should become the new High Command. Â Soundwave is blinded by his love for Megatron, and I will always be too aloof to elicit loyalty from the mecha who believe in the cause.::
Tarn tilted his head at Shockwave’s explanation. It sounded almost impossible, but knowing Shockwave Tarn knew better than to doubt his abilities. :: ... I see. A noble pursuit. ::
:: You think I should lead? :: Tarn’s optics widened in shock. Leading the DJD was one thing -- but the entire Decepticon army? Was he up to the task? No one was more well versed in Megatron’s teachings than he after all. Perhaps it wouldn’t truly be long term either. If he could find Megatron, awaken him, and convince him back to the cause then... Then, no, it wouldn’t have to be forever.
:: I would certainly have to ruminate on the idea of leading the Decepticons for a while before I make any final decisions, Shockwave. :: He speaks up again after a moment.
logicon:
::The army will need a leader. Â Tell me Tarn, what do you know of what I had planned to do? Â Rumors tend to get wildly exaggerated, and such a grand plan with such extreme results would be particularly susceptible to such warping.::
The cup was heard.
::Megatron betrayed us. Â Starscream betrayed us. Â Even before Megatron claimed to renounce the Decepticons, he betrayed us.::
:: You will have to forgive me, Shockwave. I have limited knowledge on what it is you planned to do. My team and I have been on the outer reaches of the galaxy and such news has only just begun to reach us. Do enlighten me if you wish.:: Megatron’s defection had taken precedence over all other news to Tarn, surely Shockwave would understand.Â
Tarn cleaned up the spilled energon as if to distract himself.
Starscream’s punishment had been coming for a long time, but Megatron’s? Tarn never thought he’d see the day where his own leader would end up on The List. It made his spark twist with conflicting emotion.
:: With so many of the army’s high command... lost to us I agree that a leader is needed. Are you suggesting... that you want that role? ::
logicon:
::I was on Cybertron executing a plan that would ensure Decepticon domination when Megatron claimed to turn coats and become an Autobot.  I was eventually thrown to the whims of the multiverse.  I have been… out of contact.::
If Shockwave was on the List he’d probably make it to the top fairly quickly.  One doesn’t defect and try (and nearly succeed) to destroy the universe and not catch notice.
That is to say: everyone else wanted him dead so why not Tarn too.
It’s unknown if the sound of Tarn’s cup shattering in his grasp was picked up by the comm. Either way Tarn wasn’t going to acknowledge it, :: Ah yes, that. ::
:: Lord Megatron was on trial for some time after that. He claimed he could only be fairly judged by The Knights of Cybertron. Our Lord was put in stasis some time later. Once The Knights are found I presume Lord Megatron’s trial will resume. ::
Tarn had only recently gotten a hold of this information himself and was still working out his own plans for the future and how to proceed.Â
:: The army has been... in a state of disarray since then. ::
logicon:
Shockwave knew of the List.  He wondered now if he was on it.  Tarn would be a fool to try and take him down after all he had… achieved.  And while the voice on the other end didn’t give a hint to any intention of harm, Tarn was a magnificent actor.  Manipulator.  Call it what you will.
::I have been… out of the loop.  So to speak.  Very few know the going ons of the Decepticon army better than you, Tarn.  I ask that you inform me of what I have missed.::
If Shockwave was on The List he wasn’t at the top of it just yet. The List had a certain order to it and to go through it out of order -- well -- that would just lead to chaos and disorganization now wouldn’t it?Â
Tarn tsked on his end of the comm, :: For shame, Shockwave. A Decepticon with your standing in the army should be making a better effort to remain aware of what goes on in the army. :: He took a sip from his drink and cleared his vocalizer, :: Nonetheless, do tell me the last thing you recall. I would like to know how out of the loop you are before I begin. ::
@logicon has pinged your comm.
Tarn paused in his paperwork to check who was pinging him at this hour. He was about to be thoroughly annoyed with whoever was interrupting his work when he realized he recognized the frequency.
:: Shockwave. To what pleasure do I owe this call? ::
