I’d say drink the alcohol rather than serve it.

Hot has nothing to do with it, but I’ll take it. And I’d be more than willing to go on a cruise anytime.

“I’m not much for eating at home or cooking,” Martin said cradling the ten pound watermelon in his arms like it was his first born. “But if someone started delivering watermelon straight to my apartment, I might never leave.” He pressed the button for the third floor. “They’d have to also deliver rum though.” And that was the give away. They’d have cocktails at his meeting this afternoon and suddenly Martin decided he was going to buy watermelon and replicate them no matter how ridiculous he’d looked walking through the neighborhood with just his watermelon. He had the necessary alcohol at home for now. 

“I don’t mind cooking, but I’m certainly no gourmet chef or anything like that,” Tyler shrugged, watching the other. “Watermelon and rum. An interesting combination, but one I can get behind,” he chuckled. Tyler was known for divulging in a glass of rum after a long day. Or a short day. Any day, really. “Someone should start that company. The Amazon pantry of Alcohol delivery service.”

We have tourist boats. Also private rentals that anyone can take out themselves. Ah, well Eddie suits you. Though, Carl isn’t the worst name you could have. Nice to meet you too, Eddie.

I have a masters in business and a bachelors in accounting.  Oh so much fun!  I really have.  And that is a bonus in my book.  What about you?  I don’t think we’ve even exchanged names!

My bachelor’s in business. Came in handy with the sail shops though, so I can’t complain too much. My parents weren’t happy I went the trying to start my own business route. That was until I became successful in it. Oh, you’re right. I’m Tyler. Or Ty. Either works.

Maybe so. I feel like everyone should try it at least once though. There’s not that many days where you can’t get off the boat at a stop. And there’s so much to do, you barely realize you’re on a boat.

I’m not sure you could really live on a speedboat, but they’re a lot of fun to be on. Oh. Right, hmm, that’s a good question. I suppose even a houseboat would have to have an address? Or maybe just a P.O. Box. I think I’d miss being on land at least sometimes though.

Yuck… that’s a tough spot to be in, but extremely sweet of you. I had a few friends from high school who enlisted right after graduation, and from what they’re posting on social media it seems like they really enjoy it.

I feel for her, but she’s tough. I know she can handle it. I’m happy to help her out if it means she’s not doing it alone. I’d have to find someone I trust with my business, but I’d consider enlisting.

I had to use my degrees for something!  And I wanted to do the exact opposite of the rest of my family.  They’re all boring, stuffy lawyers.  And I love clothes.  Especially when you can find them at bargain prices.

And what were your degrees in? Well I’d say you’ve gotten very far away from what your family does.

Either way, I like be able to walk longish distances. It’s cool that you want that though. I feel like I’ve shut myself off from a lot of things, cruises for example, by hating boats.

I don’t even know if cruises should count though. If you’re on a big enough ship, those things can be huge and have a lot of space to walk around. And then you get to go to different places and get off the boat.

Her kid is going to hate that. Or love it, if she overcompensates for the closeness in holidays. How often are you able to get away? Look I am still in awe of you for choosing that path. It’s an honorable choice both to bear a child and to willingly live with a pregnant woman when you’re not the father of the child. You ever need another place my studio’s always open. Welcome new subjects. Any slots free next weekend?

If she doesn’t overcompensate for it, I will, so I’m sure baby won’t mind it too too much. I’m usually able to get away once a day for a fair amount of time. Unless there’s some doctor thing. It’s a little intense living with her, but the house is big enough so it isn’t too bad? Oh thanks! If it’s bad weather out, I might have to take you up on that. I’ve got a bunch open on Saturday.

When is the baby due? Yeah, I get it trust me. Was around for the end of my ex’s pregnancy with my kid, and around for most of one of my closest friends, and they both drove me to studio escapes quite a bit. Ships and Sails is pretty straightforward, I can definitely appreciate that. What’s the going rate for a sail around the water for an hour or two?

December 20th. Go figure, a Christmas baby. I love her and baby dad’s not around so I’m doing my best to help her. But I’m lucky that I have the boat to getaway on when I need to breath. Or not be yelled at. I like the simple, straightforwardness. No one ever gets confused. $110 for the first hour, $70 for any additional hours.

Life’s always been interesting since then.  But yes, the store was an interesting venture from the very beginning.  You have no idea!  The oddness comes with a grain of salt.  A very good sense of humor goes a long way too!

Can I ask you what made you want to open the shop? Not judging or anything, but curious what makes one want to own such a venture.

Believe it or not, that was actually the very first ‘weird thing’ that ever came into my store.  I wasn’t sure if someone was pissed off at me for opening or for being a bit on the ‘colorful’ side.  Or if they just happened to want to get rid of that thing.  

Well that’s... an interesting way to start off for sure. I guess it made everything that came after that less odd seeming?

Baby daddy’s doing nothing, so I don’t want to leave her on her own. I’ve actually thought about that. Maybe once baby is older, I will.
