and with all that, i would STILL defend them if they were unjustly gunned down by police. shot in the back. shot dead for reaching for their wallets. killed for “fitting a description.” have their back broken. “tuned up” in a back of a cop car. i’d still defend them. without question. without hesitation. every black life no matter how flawed. we all matter or none of us matter. 

this isn’t a list of who i’d hang with or welcome in my home. this is to make it crystal clear what #blacklivesmatter means. we must be careful not to allow our personal, social, political, economical, religious differences cause us to side with the racist against our own people.

always remember, when you make allowances for who can be abused and targeted in the black community by this racist system, you’re opening the door for all us to be targeted and eventually yourself.
