Historically, the music scene hasn’t been the most supportive environment for women, more specifically, for women of color. It can be isolating. My entire career I’ve worked extremely hard with limited resources knowing that you will never get paid your worth without representation. What I’ve learned is that in order to make an impact we have to create our own platforms to make space for the communities we stand for and serve.
