Precious- Derek Hale Imagine
-Can you do a imagine where your dating Derek and your like a pack mom to everyone especially Liam and your like cuddling with Liam or something and Derek thinks is really cute!- anon
A/N: This is such a cute idea. I’m really hoping I did it justice, because fluffy!Derek deserves the world.
You were sitting in the loft, rereading your favorite book for what seemed like the millionth time. Derek was out helping Scott and Stiles with something, so you had the loft to yourself. Lately, you’ve been busy helping the pack with everything you possibly could. It was almost like you were the soccer mom of the pack, bringing snacks and providing a carpool.
Having the loft to yourself was quite peaceful, until you heard someone knocking on the door. Living in a town full of supernatural beings, you took precaution before answering the door. You slowly peeked out the window.
Liam was standing outside. You opened the door and saw the young boy with tears running down his cheek. His eyes were puffy and red as well.
“Liam, my gosh, what happened to you?” You asked, pulling the boy inside and locking the door.
“Hayden. I’m pretty sure she wants to break up with me. She said that this supernatural stuff was too much for her.” He took a deep breath and wiped away the tears with his shirtsleeve.
You cleared the couch and brought him a blanket. While taking a seat, you patted a spot next to you.
“Come sit down. Tell me everything that happened.”
Liam sat down next to you and wrapped himself in the blanket. He then cuddled in closer to you. You soothed him with a tight hug.
“We were doing really great. I thought everything was finally good for once, but then it all changed. She told me that she needed time alone to think about everything that has happened. I’m scared, Y/N. What if she doesn’t want to get back together, and I lose the girl I love?” He cried.
“Liam, I think you need to give her a little bit of space to process. On the other hand, don’t let her think that you’re accepting defeat. Do little things that remind her that you’re still here for her and that you love her. Trust me, it takes a while to get used to this all, but if she’s truly in love with you, then she’ll understand.”
“You’re the best, Y/N. So much better than Derek.” You just chuckled.
“Derek’s not as bad as you think. He’s just a big softy who uses his werewolf powers to create a deceiving persona. Don’t believe it for a second.”
“So I shouldn’t be afraid of him?” Liam looked up at you.
“No, he can still kill you, short stack. Just be careful.” You patted his head.
The two of you continued to lay on the couch, watching whatever comedy movie that was on the television. Liam eventually fell asleep with his head in your lap. After a while, you began to doze off and eventually fall asleep, too.
You were awoken when Derek came in the loft. He was carrying some Chinese takeout. You slowly moved Liam’s head from your lap and onto a pillow. After doing so, you bounced to your feet to greet Derek. He had a cheesy grin on face, before giving you a hug and kiss on the cheek.
“I see pack mommy Y/N is back at it again.” He smiled.
“Hey, don’t hate me because they’re not afraid I’m going to eat them. They adore me.” You bragged, taking the food from Derek and placing it on the table.
Before the two of you sat down to eat dinner, Liam began to stir. He lifted his head and jumped a little when he saw Derek standing over him. Derek extended a hand and pulled him off the couch.
“Thank you again, Y/N. I’ll keep you posted on how everything goes.” He said, giving you a hug.
“Remember, Liam, if she loves you, then she’ll understand that you can’t change who or what you are. Good luck, sweetie.” You reassured the boy, before leading him out the door.
Derek was leaning against a pillar and grinning once again. His arms were crossed, and he looked as if he was going to say something. Instead, he just remained silent and continued to smile.
“What is your problem, Hale?” You teased.
“You’re precious. The way you’re like a mother to the little were-children, it’s too cute, and I’m not one to being admitting that.”
“Oh, cut the masculine attitude and come eat dinner with me. I’m starving.”
The two of you settled in at the table. Derek still had a sparkle in his eye, something that could disappear when overshadowed by constant grief and disruption. He seemed so at peace for once.
“You know, when we first started dating, I never thought we’d be able to make it this far.” You stopped eating your lo mein for a moment and gave him a puzzled looked. “Don’t hurt me! I just thought that I would do something to mess all of this up. I mean, you’re a genius surgeon who is dedicated to saving lives, and I’m a troubled werewolf who uses a tough persona to mask my real issues. Not a destined combo. I’m so thankful we worked out, though. I love you, Y/N.” He reached across the table and gave you a kiss.
“I love you, too, Derek.”
“Another thing that I’ve realized in the time we’ve been together: I want to have kids. I want to have kids with you. Could you imagine little werewolf/surgeon babies running around the loft?” He laughed.
“I think we’d have to move somewhere a little more kid friendly. There are too many places for them to get lost. Oh, we’re also in the middle of the woods. Not the best setting for play dates and birthday parties.”
“Okay, deal.” He smiled, kissing you again.
