Once in a while, an opportunity comes along that will drastically shape who you are and define you as a person. For me, that opportunity came knocking nearly four and a half years ago, when I was asked to work as a production assistant for a little show called Teen Wolf.
At the time, I declined the position since I wanted to step away from PA work. Instead asked if I could work as a Stand-In; a job in the industry that I thought could benefit my career as an actor. Thankfully, I was given that job, and I was propelled into what I can honestly say were the most fruitful years of my life. After three seasons soaking up friendships and every bit of knowledge that I possibly could, I decided that my time was up, and stepped away from the show so I could take what I had learned and create something of my own. This was one of the hardest career decisions I have ever made, but I’m proud of it, for I now have my first-ever feature film made (which I’m extremely excited for you all to see!). But then, just like that… eight months had passed. The bills dried me out and the unemployed actor in me realized that the dream was over. It was time to find a job again. I was scared. I wasn’t quite sure where to turn. But then, out of nowhere, I was bit by something. THE WOLF! I was asked back for the second half of the final season. The timing was impeccable, and I was left feeling shock and disbelief given the circumstances. What at the time felt like a step backwards, I accepted the job, and dove right back in where I left off. It was then that I realized that this was no step backwards. This was many, many steps forward. I was brought back together with my family again, for one final hurrah! After working back on Teen Wolf for the past five months, I would have regretted not being there to end such a special moment in time. It really is wild to think that production is officially over. I thought I had expelled all my emotions back when I left, but they all came rushing back the moment they called, “That’s a series wrap!” So from the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, thank you, for a time like no other. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I wouldn’t exchange for anything. Though this may be a difficult end for many, it’s the beginning of a new chapter for all. Let’s keep the team moving forward. Let’s keep TEAM WOLF alive!
