fun fact about me is that when i was a kid id write capital E’s with as many of those little horizontal lines as possible and id call them ladder E’s and adults fucking hated them

humpback B’s and P’s get as many bumps as you think they need

circle O’s, you just keep spiraling in til you feel like you’ve made your point

tree letters branch into smaller versions of themselves ad nauseum: X, Y

The Pain of Starting Anew.

My heart is confused. I got excellent news today. But also annoying, hurtful news. The hurtful news isn’t new, dumb adult crap.

Money. But it still hurt. My worth, my value, rolled up into a dollar number. And it hurts. I feel it trying to sour my amazing new. News that leads me one step closer to a change I’ve wanted. Money wants to ruin my delight, my imagination, my excitement.

I don’t want to hurt. But I don’t want to ignore the hurt either. Or it’ll fester, leaking through every crack trying to drown out my joy.

It hurts. It’s a final scratch, last bitting words of a world I’m leaving behind. But I have to feel it, acknowledge it. Because it makes the changes I’m making, the moves I’m making, the amazing news, it makes it real.

I’ll be healing from this hurt for a while, as it is emblematic of a world I thought was the only way. But I’m not stuck anymore. I’m escaping.

It’s wonderful, it hurts now. But it’s wonderful. I’m scared, but it’s wonderful.

The next day will come, then I’ll be on my way. I’m on a new path.
