Ultrasound time to see if my chronic pain has a source that can be fixed
Walking the dogs sent me low but luckily my BFF had just dropped off freshly made mango ice cream.
T1D Question
This morning I was bolusing for my cup of tea and I felt burning where I've got my set in my arm. It was like injecting levimir, but it's just my regular novorapid. I noticed the same thing last week when my set was in a different place, but it doesn't happen all the time.
Does anyone else ever get a random sharp burning feeling from a regular bolus?
My three failed sets and the one that finally worked. One bent needle, two sites gushing blood and a functioning thigh set.
I feel this is not quite what is usually meant by #diabeteslifehack
Last night I realised my lipstick was still on just as I got into bed. I didn’t want to get pink all over my already blood spotted white sheets and pillowcases and I didn’t want to get up. I couldn’t wipe it on my hand, because…same problem re: sheets. So cut to me using the side of my just used test strip to scrape off the lippy. Lipstick gone and chucked into my already gross kit. Sheets safe. Body snuggly.
I'll admit it, I only clean out my old strips when they're so in the way that I can't fumble for my meter in the dark.
woman: I hate how women and young girls are punished financially and socially for not wearing makeup
some fucking loser with no critical thinking skills: wow check your contour and fucked up brows, ugly
??? Punished financially? How so?
women who don’t wear makeup are paid less women who don’t wear makeup are seen as less credible in the workplace
I'm a high school teacher in my 20s. There is a noticeable difference in the students' behaviour when I wear makeup. They are more likely to follow directions and they are generally nicer towards me.
I've signed up for the JDRF One Walk again this year and I'm getting ready to rattle my collection tins at work. I think that the used insulin vials are a nice addition. I've also got flex pens, pump infusion set caps, a syringe (needle cut off), and bits of instruction manuals.
That kind of day. I forgot I had an arm site and got too aggressive with my towelling off after my shower. I think it's the universe telling me something because I’d just decided I could go an extra day before a set change. Now I’m back to a site in my bum cheek but I’m still slow when I dry off my arms.
I had a migraine last night and my mum helped me do a set change. She squealed and flapped her hands, but we got it done eventually and I have an arm set that's working well. I've been using my thighs lately, but the arm gives me much better BGs. I usually don't put it there because I wear my iPod in an armband when I run and it can feel weird. Hopefully this one is low enough that it won't be an issue.
Yesterday was my second diaversary. To be honest I’ve been counting down but I forgot about it totally on the day. I “celebrated” with a low carb dinner and couch cuddles with my brother’s dog while we watched Fantastic Beasts.
I've made up for it today.
The doffle was amazing and I'm temp basal/ square blousing my way through the day without skyrocketing BGs. I'm also officially a bar fly at the airport as I wait for my flight to board.

For the third day in a row my blood sugar is over 11 (about 200 in US measurement) two hours after breakfast. Last night I couldn't go to sleep because I was over 15 (270). I'm running higher than usual the rest of the time too.
