Passion Manila 2014 in 14 Photos
When the lights went out and the beat starts to saturate the Big Dome, I started to tear down my walls and let the Holy presence embrace my senses. This is one of the best night I wouldn't dare to forget.
Pastor Louie Giglio sharing the story of Prodigal Son - a well loved story of hope and forgiveness.
Endless worship continues as Passion Team lead God's congregation to sing their hearts out.
This is - God's GREAT DANCE FLOOR.
There is no one like our GOD, the crowd sang loudly, an affirmation of His greatness.
YOU ARE! The night ended with people praising God and experiencing His presence the way they never expected it to be. This be worship, people leaving the Big Dome knowing that God made them a better version of themselves. We're moved - deeply.
We left the place knowing that God has better plans for us, knowing that He deserves all the praise, knowing that all the credit belongs to Him, to Him alone. THIS BE WORSHIP.
Salamat, Passion Manila. Sa Kanya ang papuri.
Pretty hurts
“What is your aspiration in life?”
“My aspiration life – would be, to be happy,” as Beyonce’s song goes.
(Google image)
You saw it and you've heard endless tracks – the value of self-image.
The Crazy in Love singer is not an exception in this battle. Yes, she has all the glitz and the glamour. But at the end of the day, she feels empty too, just like everybody else.
“What’s in your head, it doesn't matter,” the song continues.
I feel worthless, too.
Self-image, many people fall prey into it. Self-image caged me for some time. Let’s admit it, at some point in our lives, we all felt to look at ourselves and compare all the things that we have and we don’t have. But as the adage goes, comparison is the end of satisfaction.
Aside from dignity, self-image is what most people are concerned of. I couldn't blame them, that is what our nation dictates.
At my age, self-image is not a big battle anymore. As i call it, naipagpag ko na 'yan. But on this blog entry, let opinion matter alone.
Bigger is better, thinner is better. Saan tayo dito?
I always dreamt of becoming paper thin. I've been big for all my life. Kabi-kabilang tukso at panglalait. Even my family’s remarks are not an exception. I've been hurt, so bad. But I learned the process of dedma.
Body type has always been my issue. High school came, I handled it well. College passed and nothing changed.
“Miss may size kayo nito? Sorry sir, last size na po ‘yan,” a nonchalant exchange.
I have accepted the “big-boned” annotation. Thanks to the powers of superstars, they have this certain kurot sa puso moment wherein you will believe that you are not a mess, all you have to do is to push all those labels away. (Beyonce power as I call it, and that's why I'm writing this *smiles*)
My take on this? Celebrate what your parents gave you. Enjoy the ride that the Lord has bestowed upon you. Remember this, just because you feel like a loser, doesn't mean you have to live with stereotypes. If people try to box you, box them out. If you can’t change them, be the change that they want to see.
Recently, I stumbled upon this blog that celebrates security through insecurity. The blog was produced with arresting visuals. Security through insecurity might sound negative, but you will feel for them. A part of you will say, “Naramdaman ko yan”, “Naranasan ko ‘yan”,”Ako yan”. Here are some of the photos:

I thank Beyonce for empowering young generation to celebrate their sizes, ethnicity, race and color. It empowers young generation to feel confident about themselves, that we should not conform as to what the world dictates us to be. Kudos to whatibeproject.com for believing in the power of insecurities and for making us realize that each of us has insecurities to shed.
Perfection is the disease of the nation - that hurts, that’s the reason why I don’t live in the “perfect nation”
Explore New Ride
This year marked many firsts.
Found new heights, experienced inner weakness that kept me strong, shared laughter and borrowed time.
If many people think that each year is a mess, I am not an exception. It seems that time is pulling itself in, that I need to be in a hurry, chasing after my dreams. And most of the times I fail to catch it.
There goes desperation and bitterness.
Should you think that each year is a mess? No. It all lies on how you would like to see your future. Some might see gray, but I see gold. Sometimes blue but most of the times, shining brightly like diamonds.
After searching myself, there I will find the answer. Change track.
They say that if you can’t catch your dreams, beat it. I think I should not catch it, I think I should not beat it – LIVE IT and change track. You might not get it, it’s all OPTIMISM.
Explore new ride.
Gone are the days when I am confined with the four cornered wall. I am free and I am enjoying each piece that freedom is giving.
I don’t know what this year might give, but I am sure that this will be one great ride. As the Pop Star Princess might say it, “Ikot, Ikot lang," forgive me I’m a fan. But it’s true, we are chasing after that one thing that may build or the worse - destroy us.
TIP: don’t control your life anymore, let One Power take over it. Experienced it, went well and I can never be any satisfied.
Tomorrow is another year. Wonder what first will it bring me.

PLAY
Sing like no one's listening, dance even when the beat stop. Play even when you don't want to.
Another self centered entry. Piano, I long to play thee.
How would you keep the music playing? Let rhythm and melody be balanced. Keep along the tempo, be sure to sync your road. You will keep the music playing.
Never let anyone play your own song. You are your own singer.
Ciao!
PAGHAHALO NG LIWANAG AT DILIM (Lalim! Oh my gosh)
"Insert dramatic quote here."
It Was Just a Day
It was just a day where most of the people would wake up before the sun strikes gold. It was just a day where people would drive along the busy streets of EDSA. It was just a day where time will come and go.
The day started nice. Waking up with the blue skies gleaming after the window inspires you to move and make the day right. All dressed up, be ready to walk the talk.
It was Friday, the last working day of the week for most people. The same day I was born, according to the ever loyal Google.com. I don’t know what significant event went through, but I know one that never in the entire history would take place again.
I notice that November seem to be an interesting month. People born on November usually have this quality of making it big in everything that they do. Miley Cyrus was born on November, compare me not from twerking. John Galliano was born on November, with a zest in fashion, I know you can link me with it. Anne Hathaway and Leonardo Di Caprio, I got the acting skills, I know. But there is this one thing that these people have in common, they always put our best foot forward.
I am always on top of my game. What can we do? I was born in November, right? This world we are living in is said to be the battlefield of dreams and ambition. Just like the people I knew who is living the dream ever since.
People are always in a hurry, many wants to make it to finish line first, of course, who wouldn’t? But along the game is a frenemy, the teammates, a coach and the judge.
I am still in the battlefield.
Frenemies will tear you down, they pushes you out of your control and will let you explode. Luckily, I don’t have a lot of them because I consider myself my own frenemy. I battle my own struggles, sometimes I lose, most of the time I win.
There is your teammate who will fight for you and will even push you to reach the top. They make you smile, they make you laugh. They are said to be the spice of your game.
My coach made me the person ready to fight it all. They shaped me to become who I am today, ready to face the game, to face my judge.
The game is far from over, I haven’t seen the judge, nor did other fighters. I long for the day that I will see Him, because I know I would make it to the game. I am not finished yet, but I know that I am fighting a good fight.
It was just a day of people lying beneath the heat of the day. It was just a day where people in Visayas would ask for help. It was just a day of children in Ministop Fairvew begging you for a couple of coins.
But no, this isn’t just a day. It was another battle for us to win. It was a day of new hope and a day for our passion to be built again.
Naexplain ko na. I’m twenty two, I don’t know about you (laughs).

Weaved Fist
I am not posting this for the sake of "doing' it, this photo reminds me of how sincerely people should pray.
The importance of prayer is as important as talking to your BFF. It's as if you are taking away your guards and just let the emotions, feelings and pain speak for itself. Prayer, reminds us of the vulnerability of our hearts. And it is through prayers that numbness can be eased and let the ray of happiness struck our core.
The sensation of Typhoon Yolanda speaks mile. I know that we are blinded by the lost smiles, many will even try to question Him. Go ahead, ask Him. People from the Bible used to ask Him - many times. We are open to ask why all this happen. Wait for His hands to touch you. God knows the right answer for the shattered hopes. Never will He leave you. Yes, you might feel He's far away, but keep this in mind, God is watching a few inches from you. This is not your battle, this is His battle. Allowing Him to intervene will take the pain. Believe me.
Just like your weaved fist, weaved closely to be heard, never get tired to ask and pray. Don't ever think that our God is a genie god, he knows what your heart longs for before you even say it.
Pray unselfishly, count the people of Tacloban, they need it. Prayer without action is futile. Pray for the Philippines.
TYPHOON HAIYAN RIPS THROUGH CENTRAL PHILIPPINES
Typhoon Haiyan is a Category 5 storm, the strongest typhoon of 2013 and said to be the “most powerful ever” to make landfall (with winds near 195-200 mph). Perspective: Superstorm Sandy was at 95mph when it hit New Jersey; Hurricane Katrina at 129mph when it hit land.
Pre-emptive evacuations affect more than 161,000 families or more than 790,000 people in 37 provinces
Typhoon Haiyan as seen from space
Haiyan makes 6 landfalls - it affected an island chain in the central Philippines, making landfall in six islands. It gained wind power as it traversed through waters in between.
Haiyan traverses areas affected by magnitude 7.1 earthquake - The earthquake left more than 200 dead dead on October 16; 1000 injured; 350,000 displaced. The survivors have been living in tents and evacuation areas. It passed through Leyte, Samar, Cebu (2.5 million residents), among others. All with densely populated cities, some of which are the poorest provinces in the country.
100 people killed in Tacloban — first estimate of casualties in the city reported today, November 9. Because the communication lines are down, the news centers have yet to take stock of the full extent of the damage. But the numbers are still expected to rise. The devastation was described as if a tsunami had wracked through it.
2:03PM 11/9: An estimated 4 million people have been affected by the typhoon
4:20PM 11/9: 90% of Baco Town in Oriental Mindoro flooded
4:55 PM 11/9: Bodies still scattered in Leyte as Visayas in shock
5:19PM 11/9: Negros Occidental under a state of calamity
7:34PM 11/9: Local officials expect the number of bodies found in Tacloban to reach 500
eta: 7:45PM 11/9: Iloilo and Palawan declare state of calamity
eta: 8:04PM 11/9: Update: 134 reported dead
eta: 8:30PM 11/9: Thousands homeless in Ormoc, Leyte
eta3: 10PM 11/9: Red Cross estimates 1,200 casualties
eta3: 3AM 11/10: Aerial photo of Bantayan Island after Haiyan
eta3: 3:23AM 11/10: At least 200 believed dead in Eastern Samar
eta4: 11/0: Latest death toll could be 10,000
The victims need all the help they can get. Cities have been leveled, buildings made of concrete were destroyed by strong winds and storm surges. Communications have yet to be reestablished in most of the areas affected by the typhoon. The full picture left behind by Haiyan has yet to be established yet the devastation reported on television is already extensive. The government is bracing for large-scale relief operations. Virtually 1/3 of the country has been ravaged by this natural disaster. And we need help.

Reblogging again because this is IMPORTANT. The estimated death toll has reached 10,000. Even just donating $1 would be so much help, and you can donate from ANYWHERE, even if you live outside of the Philippines. Or at least reblog this and let your followers know how they can help. Please, please do your part.
Hey everyone, I’m sure you’ve all heard about the typhoon that hit the Philippines. I’m just trying to do my part and sharing it out there. If you have the means to, your donations would really really help out! Above are links to how you can make a difference. Have a great day you kind hearted people!
Torn, Scorned yet Adored.
Darkened by tremendous clouds, overshadowed by unseen forces of nature, the Filipino resilience will shine through.
As people would call it, "Keep calm and carry on," I will always remember how our fellowmen fought the storm - literally.
My heart goes out to the people who was devastated by the typhoon. Their homes may be broken, but not the hope that will carry their future.
The healing process will take time, a lot of time. But it is time that will teach us the value of patience and passion.
This is not the time to point fingers, this is the time to compose our fingers and be willing to give a hand. Not the time to drop names but a the time to call to One name.
Torn, scorned yet adored. Let me end with this, cliche as it may sound, "May bagong umagang parating."
