A pirate and a witch walk into a bar..
Jack always seemed to be tipsy before even stepping foot in a bar. Tipsy, though, was not satisfying enough - he refused to leave the establishment until he was sufficiently drunk.
The captain sat down in front of the counter and waved for the bartender.
“Rum, sir. Plenty of it, you wouldn’t believe the day I’ve had.”
The drink was slid over, and he took it graciously. No force on this earth was to take his rum away now. That he vowed. He was going to speak more about his previous events, but the bartender walked away - completely disinterested.
He turned to the person next to him instead. A woman - a fairly attractive one. She appeared to be there by herself.
“Love, what are you doing unaccompanied? I say you could use a companion, and I need someone to listen to me. What do you say?”
Yuko, being a big fan of alcohol and proud of it too, spent a lot of time in bars. Generally, she was already a tad drunk when she arrived at them, having stocked up on plenty of drinks at her home, wherever that happened to be at any given time. She went to bars for the often intriguing company there more than for their own, readily available supply of alcohol; though, it certainly helped generate such curiosities.
At the stranger’s request, she eyed the man up and down with an amused smile and a small quirk of her eyebrows. From his attire, the witch quickly determined he was a pirate, of sorts. From her abilities, specifically her sight, Yuko found out a bit more–but the rest she could have seen she ignored, as she wanted to and would much rather hear it from him.
“Oh, just slaking my thirst is all, my good man! Hm…you seem interesting. Well, alright then…so long as you buy me a drink!” she added, almost as an afterthought, laughing somewhat loudly and cheerfully at the idea.
Interesting. That was certainly the least insulting assessment on his character in a long while, despite its vagueness. The woman also seemed interesting; her clothing, like her demeanor, had an elegance of sorts. She definitely stood out from the rest, albeit, he didn’t get a good look at the rest of the bar patrons.
Jack almost scowled, but instead formed a grin. The only one he wanted to be purchasing drinks for was himself, but what was the harm in buying her one glass? It was a fair trade, he figured, and she truly was a charming woman.
“So be it,” he placed the money on the counter, leaving it to her to decide on the beverage.
“Mind if I ask the name of my new drinking companion?”
