Evening dabbles

Our love is like a cigarette. I am addicted to you. Your brightness, the way you take my breath away, the way you make me feel wanted. I breathe you in and watch you glow. I give my time to you. My life starts to revolve around you. You are mine. Until I start to get fresh air. I meet someone who takes me to the ocean and shows me what it is like to breathe again. Until one day, one day the burning cherry of our love drops to the ground. I look at it knowing I don't need it. I breathe that fresh air and I stomp it out. I put you out, I move on, I quit you.
