The TV Mitsunari got her better be safe.
âHilda. Donât tell me you actually went and caught hint of the new releases too..â At this point, even his indifference couldnât hide the sudden swell of excitement. Werenât situations like these usually dreams that would go bad at a point? Like hell heâd decide to question it for now. Instead, he would make the most in enjoying the ride. Seeing his parents get along was also doing wonders for Beel as well, the cheer was quite infectous.
"Anything you need to wrap up before we get moving?"
"Hmph, you are to blame that I dared to worry." Her interest in regard his hobbies was minimal at most, barely existent at this point -- it was with the honest intent to give him a present he would enjoy, what is better than to ask the person himself? "And I am certain Master will have fun too." Of course, there are always priorities that impulsed her behavior and that mostly depended on her adored prince's happiness.
"I do not think there is much to bring, it is quite too hot outside but perhaps we should pack the big umbrella."
"Ainât really one of those things I can say anything against." He replied earnestly. Politeness in these certain situations was a given. Whether it was giving or receiving. No need to give the girl a hard time when she was piling on the effort like this.
"So by all means. We can switch it up like this for a change."
"Dah!"
A pleased smile is hinted at the corner of her lips soon before she can fight back the reflex, these small changes were they could act like civilized parents were too rare that they deserved to be enjoyed at its fullest.
Money was not about to be a problem today, she had everything planned.
"Afterwards, we may go to the game store. I happened upon a good idea."
"Canât we just go and get some of that hell spicy chicken that you like and call it a day!? You really donât need to go above nâ beyond for me, damn it!"
"I am supposed to express gratitude, there is nothing extremist on my actions." Oh, but the spicy chicken is a tempting idea and she doesn't fight back. "...Will it be my treat at least?"
"Given my tardiness I have decided my present -- a meal worthy of a ruler."
A tad belated and maybe not worth the wait but there is little she can do without ruining it with her odd demonic nature, reason why the effort placed on why physical gestures were the only gift she can grant in these kind of occasion -- stiff arms placed on his shoulders and what can be labeled as a forced hug is what he is pulled into. "A man such as yourself is still no good and that won't never change the fact you are Master's father. Thank you for everything."
It had been a time where he was still busy thinking about his own fatherâs well being. The same couldnât be said for Beel who was eagerly trying to learn everything he could about this occasion. A holiday spent as a shout out to all the fatherâs out there? This was the primary reason as to why the demonic youth kept shooting a series of stares at Ishiyamaâs Oga Tatsumi. How was he supposed to even go about giving him a Happy Fatherâs Day!?
The duoâs internal question would be interrupt by the abrupt entry of the one woman heâd consider Beelâs mother. Eyes perked open a little wider; it was instant recognition from the delinquentâs end. âHilda?â
"Crap. Thought you wouldâve been off a bit longer." His voice wasnât hinting at anything, it was genuine surprise. "Ya need Baby Beel for somethinâ?" Why else would there be such a considering look in her eyes? Thatâs when the surprises only built up. Heâd watch as she took her practically robotic stance as she approached. Standing tall, confusion would melt off to surprise as he finally caught the gist of what she was going for. A bit tight, but what she pulled him into was a tender embrace.
Her words followed after the gesture and thatâs when it all begin to click. The purpose as to why sheâd ever consider something so sentimental. Seemingly frozen in surprise, thatâs when another pair of arms would join in for the cause. An excited squeal sprung from the young youth as he nuzzled tight against his father figure. âBeel, you too..? Oga uttered. Feeling a pinch silly soon after.
Of course he would.
Receiving such an affectionate fatherâs day surprise had never cross Ogaâs mind before. Even in that dark abyss of a heart, blooming warmth was felt even though heâd rarely admit as such. Little did he know, there was a growing smile developing as it began to get the better of him. One hand would rise to gingerly brush along the mint spikes of his body, while another arm would reach over to return the gesture with an awkwardly placed hug around the demon maid.
"You two.. Heh." Their bond was at a point beyond words. Actions alone should clearly show how he felt on this, but even that fact couldnât stop him.
â..Thank you.â
you should be less rude, you donât know what it might do for youÂ
BEELZEBUB Vol.27
Time Came Back Around
Both of the men remained silence as they watched Hilda sink down. To the flucation of emotion she experienced, to the heartfelt words. No mind reading was needed to see that a sense of connection had been instilled with the three within this living room. Watching as her tiers curved up and eyes grow glossy, to say that she didnât hit home in some way or form would be a complete understatement. Instead, they would give the wet nurse her earned turn on the floor to speak.
There was a blooming sense of accomplishment that resonated through Oga and Beel. It mainly remained with the younger of the two at what he done. All this time, her smiles were of security, strength and genuine happiness. Still, even his small mind pondered something. Could he ever make her smile with his own hard fought efforts? That was the beacon of inspiration that drove him to heights that tested his limits. There was a lot of destruction woven in the tale of recovering that gem.
"Dah, aih aih!" Eyes closed, he felt his own dam reach bursting point once he was taken into the warmth of her arms. Just like his foster father said, this did it. The victorious giggle and happy coos just couldnât stop as he rubbed his face against the dark fabric of her blouse. For a change, he wanted to bring Hilda happiness in a way that didnât just rely on his title or the people he was born from. Instead, the shared sentiment of caring from one to another.
Perking up, Oga couldnât help but let a soft smirk grow at the familiar words. Prepared for whatever that was about to come his way, no sense of preparation could steady him for what did happen. Her smile, a grin so bright that looked like a clear reflection of a part of her held deep down. Except this time.. a sense of right was fixed into the picture. While there was the lingering threat that hell might freeze off, the impossible had just been achieved. They however, wouldnât say a word of jest about that. They savored this just as much as she did.
"It.. well.." Light frustration and a huge wave of embarrassment stormed through. This wasnât what he was adjusted to! So instead of letting these feeling overtake him and make him look stupid, he hopped right to his end of the gift. Marching up, before Hildaâs radiant smile would be a bouquet of flowers presented. They were exotic in color and the fact that some seemed to snap now and then hinted they were of demon world origins. Right now was Ogaâs time to battle the blush away from his cheeks.
"Just like Baby Beel said a moment ago, I will too, cause you raise him nâ stuff. Happy Motherâs Day, Hilda."
Maybe blood did not unite them but it was a bond forged through time, her unique intention all alone has to see the prince grow into the greatest lord, a king worth of his title that should be equally feared and loved. Doesn't a mother desire the best for her children? Seeing him happy, knowing he has been growing into a such strong, brave individual brimmed the demon woman with pride. Sharing all those experiences and seeing him turn into someone better sufficed for all what she could have achieved as another person.
To serve him and being capable of enjoying his affection, how can she not think of herself as fortunate? Year have paid off every effort and more would come and time should not be hurried, it is better to bask in the moment.
Mainly when more surprises were about to come, another present but from someone whom she would expect nothing in this world.
"You..." It is considerably difficult to proceed, storing a different sort of determination that until now was daring to surge. While their most civilized exchanges have been relying in mere cooperation and mild tolerance, never they truly expressed more than what they could acknowledge without words. For everything that could have crossed her mind, this was thus far the most irreverent -- resignation shall keep pride at bay, decided to not back out on what was labeled as righteous.
Although not devoid of emotion, features reveal apparent annoyance before daring to move or speak as required, more sure this was a fragile layer to cover her current dilemma. "Tatsumi." Whilst carrying Beel with a single arm, the remaining one is opened and leaves room for him to join but her firm gaze doesn't last and is quickly averted. Patience runs thin, regret menacing to overthrow his more tame demeanor. May this be the first and last, there was a high chance never in this world she would dare to show the slightest hint of appreciation but he deserved it in this moment.
"What are you waiting for? I do not have the time for this, hurry!"
Happy Mother's Day. :)
"I believe Lady Iris deserves this more than myself."
"However, in her stead and Master's -- I thank you for this."
Time Came Back Around
The mention of playing had already swayed him! Still, being a man on a mission meant he had to stick to the task tooth and nail. Beel reluctantly shook his head for the time. While it always could be for afterwards, right now there was something he wanted to do for her that was important. This time around, he didnât even give Oga any looks to see if what he was doing right or wrong. He marched up closer to the blondeâs legs and gives her a long and hard stare.
This was the woman who stuck with him with such dedication. His young age was part of the reason as to why he couldnât comprehend sheer loyalty. He could however fully feel the tender love that she saved solely for him. Something, anything. This became one of the driving forces behind young Beelzeâs actions to return that love. Keeping more towards the back, a light grin was on Ogaâs features as he studied the two. A boy and his mother needed their personal; of course heâd know that.
"Aiih, ahâ da.. ma." After getting the words together, he summoned his courage as a determined look cross his facial features.
"Aih, mama!"
With that being said, heâd grip the gift with a single hand and thrust it outfit. Quickly would his second tiny hand reach out to hold onto the other end of the sloppily wrapped box. There was a strange aura that emitted within its contents, a clear hint that whatever his and Oga efforts did to obtain this went far off to the demon world. There wouldnât be looks of expectation or anything of the sort. All that remained was the look of a child who wanted to make his parent crack a smile.
Inside of the gift wrap and box would be a small gem once Hilda opened it. A gem that was violet in color, with light sparks that emanated within. It seemed to be a contained spiraling storm encased in crystal and resting upon the finest silk and cotton. It was just the right size to fit within the small hole within Hildaâs necklace. Oga would perk his head afterwards to explain once it was presented.
"We hope thatâcha like it. The great demon lord actually clued us in on this with one of his stupid ways. After wracking our heads for a good week without your help. We didnât think your necklace was actually half done all this time.â
Should she truly act surprised? Among the range of emotions to pick, she was unsure what course could be taken. Slow understatement robbing her from speech at the ring of a certain word.
Features remain hidden underneath bangs, avoiding direct contact with him was to prevent being looked at, stern vocals a forceful attempt to pretender composure despite of the smile that crept on her lips. The wet nurse has a reputation to protect, no matter how difficult was to fare a wave of emotions that before were dormant. Sitting on her knees to reach for Beel's height, gently taking the box off his hands without averting her gaze from his'.
"I was granted with the opportunity to be at your side and raise you in Lady Iris' stead, that alone is enough. There was no need to give me anything and still..." Tears are a tentative but none can't be shed, still trying to repress that complete need to show more than the necessary. Another terrible costume of hers' but she needed to stay in control in order to show gratitude toward her master. The demon prince has gave her more than he knew of, despite Hilda's existence revolved around a single purpose, she didn't need anything other than this.
It's hard to understand how someone's identity can render from their position as a servant but she was a prime example -- 'Mother', has she truly earned that title? Even ignoring those questions, she realized her efforts have been repaid in the affection placed with this token. "Thank you, Master. I will always cherish this present." Placing it at her side, arms extended to pull Beel into an embrace. She didn't know exactly what was better but following her gut wouldn't bring any harm if she could at least denote this overflowing happiness.
Yet, there was more.
Someone else other than Beel that has become a part of her life, someone she didn't stand but managed to live with, whatever he was in her life it truly didn't matter; he had done a good job in raising the future demon lord and the proof shined through every odd faced. His voice attesting his presence, explaining the details behind the gem that now would fit in her most beloved possession.
"I hope you are aware that you are still an incompetent man but I am not an ungrateful demon as you may believe." Directing her attention to Oga, acquiring finally the necessary courage to face him, discarding pride to express something other than disdain toward the delinquent --
"Thank you, Tatsumi."
Time Came Back Around
"Man. This whole yearly thing flies too damn quickly, to think itâd be just the other day weâd be planning this up."
"Aih, dada!" Beel exclaimed cheerfully. Unlike Oga, he was nothing but a big bundle of excitement for what he had to do. His cranky foster father was the one that diligently helped him along. Sides, his family was the sort to give good appreciation to the ladies of the house. So it was only natural that this day would be spent all focused on the mothers of the house. These two had spent a good chunk of the morning and the day before preparing her gift.
Even if such a gift meant traveling down within the realms of the demon world. Oga could admit, he wasnât the biggest fan of those destroyed or crazy looking terrains at all. That didnât mean he could bite the bullet for the better cause. Once that spotted Hilda busy watching the new latest episode of her soaps on the couch, the boys knew it was a better time than ever to get their strike on the move! Trading glances at each other, thatâs when a small grin had formed.
"Here, mâboy. That little piece of darkness we had to go and bust our ass for." Reaching into his pocket, thatâs when a wrapped present, pretty small by the looks of it was plucked from the depths. Handing it to Baby Beel, sudden determination bloomed as he nodded his head towards Oga. More than ever, he could feel that unrivaled determination bloom! Giving the box to the child within his arms, the young prince didnât even wait for Ogaâs assistance in getting down. Climbing down on his parents clothes, the parent in question snorted softly at the sight.
Once Beel reached all the way down, a lively coo burst from his vocals as he trotted over to where Hilda remained. He was coming from the direction of the kitchen and into the living room. This time, his tiny arms would be wound behind his back as a cheerful glance would be given to the blonde.
"Dah, dahhhh!" Beel would call, all while making a nervous effort in keeping the sloppy packaging well hidden. Still, the sight of Hilda helped comfort him at the same time. It was time to take his old manâs advice!
Monotony can be comforting when it turns into a rarity in the every day life, its constant more troubles than a welcoming quietude -- for those instances dedicated to vain enjoyment where she can remain at ease, despite not having any notice of the men of the house other than around breakfast. Trusting Oga in regard her adored prince should not be a problem nowadays but bad habits are hard to get rid off, weren't they?
Considering he took decisions without her consent so often -- Ah, there were plenty to work out in between.
Though now such wasn't a true concern, leaving her mind in peace some time later when they vanished, leaving the demon chance to sit comfortably on the couch and focus on story full of cliché and drama, fueled by an obnoxious notion that lead to the most devastating and forced attempts of turning each moment in a tearjerker.
From where her fascination for such stupidity originated anyway? It should be worrisome.
And although most interruptions weren't welcome whenever relaxing, an special exception has to be considered among every possibility. Turning around, her face gleaming in delight. It was almost strange how quick emotions took a hold of the demon. Above all, Beel is a priority, not even her soap opera would get in the way of being graced with the attention of the her beloved prince.
"Master, do you require anything right now? Have you come to play with Hilda?"
Still judging.
"Considering how often you kidnap Master, I should be the one judging."
