The Major Activities Board is proud to announce this year’s Fall Show headliner… // VINCE STAPLES // Hailing from Long Beach, California, Staples is barely into his 20s, but his success in the past few years has swiftly launched him into hip-hop’s stratosphere. The success of his debut album Summertime ’06 garnered him multiple accolades and led Rolling Stone to declare him “the most exciting man in rap.” ’06 then went on to rise to number three on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart, and was selected as one of the top albums of 2015 on many notable year-end lists. The following summer, Staples released Prima Donna, a seven-track EP featuring A$AP Rocky and production by James Blake, and once again broke into the Top Ten R&B/Hip-Hop chart. Known for his genre-defying production and sharp social commentary, Staples was featured on the June/July cover of FADER and was hailed as a “brilliant, powerful communicator” by Pitchfork.
