a breathy laugh managed to bubble out of him, the innocent response shining some light through julian’s dark fog. the sudden weight on his shoulder throwing him off as he peered to his right, eyes wide with surprise. “i guess i can’t really, huh?” he replied back softly, fingers coming up before pausing and falling limply by his side once again.
he had impulses to pet the feline resting on his shoulder but he knew better than to go and taint such a pure soul. his hands were dirtied from his experiments and it wasn’t the brightest idea to pet the young one. maybe his mind worked differently than others but to julian, it made sense. well, at least enough sense.
the cheshire’s next words completely caught him off guard. the pure honesty and innocence just oozing out with each word the younger male spoke squeezed his core. it unconsciously brought a smile to his face as his eyes, without permission, started to turn misty from emotions that were yearning to escape.
“will you really come back?” he questioned shortly after he let out a genuine laugh, the stray tears tittering at the corner of his eyes slipping down from where it laid. “or are you just making empty promises now?”
“Well, I’m fairly good at finding people, so as long as I can find you.” The youngest holloway stated, a hint of pride in his high-pitched voice. Of course, being a feline, his nose was sensitive, even more so when he’s a Holloway. Once the kitten had managed to balance himself on the other’s shoulder, did he tilt his head, sparkling eyes blinking at the stray tears that the Liddell let out.
Perhaps it was instinct, that the kitten had leaned over and began licking the tears that slid down Julian’s cheek, before nuzzling his nose against it, a small, quiet mewl leaving his lips, “why are you crying? Did I do something wrong?”
