I’m tired of the same old song and dance. The same complete nonsense. The same links to blatantly antisemitic websites. The same unfounded claims. The same paragraphs again and again and again. There’s no actual discussion. There’s no actual, meaningful or true points to talk about. It’s all just the same knee-jerk utter shit that I’d have to repeat again and again, and I’m honestly tired of it.
And I’m especially tired of anonymous users that stick their oars in with pointless and untrue claims in nothing but a few words because they’re too cowardly to send something like this to me without clicking the anonymous button first.
“Anti-Zionists” can go fuck themselves. If they want to circle-jerk about how terrible Israel is and be completely hypocritical, focusing on Israel and yet completely ignoring the creation of Pakistan, then that’s on them. If they want to believe all the worst things from Israel and ignore the massacres of Jews at the time, that’s their decision. If they want to pretend that modern-day Jordan wasn’t part of the British Mandate and pretend that Israel is “Jews only” despite over a fifth of the population not being Jewish, fine. If they want to turn a blind eye to the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Arab countries or the Jews that survived the Holocaust’s homes stolen from them in Europe so they had literally nowhere else to go, whatever. If it suddenly doesn’t matter that Arabs in the area voluntarily left their homes and left the area because Arab armies promised that Israel would be destroyed quickly in a war and then had remorse because, oops, Israel won the war, I am done caring. I really am.
“Jews shouldn’t be there!” but apparently Jews aren’t allowed to be anywhere else, either.
Jews are parasites and evil in whichever country that we’re in, we’re not welcome if we’ve done well because that just “proves” that we’re part of a global conspiracy but if we’re struggling then it’s an example of us leeching money from whichever state to still undermine everywhere else. We’re not welcome at LGBT marches. We’re not welcome unless we hide our Jewishness unless we allow others use our Jewishness to claim that whoever’s enemies are “Literally Hitler!” or this situation that someone doesn’t like “…is just like the Holocaust!” or “If you swap [insert group here] for Jews, that’s suddenly bad!” although there’s no outpouring of care when there’s general antisemitism unless it’s attached to prove a point that whoever’s been antisemitic is part of a group that others already don’t like – like it’s the Final Nail In The Coffin for them to crow about.
The truth is that Jews survive. This is what we do. We’ve always done it and we’ll keep on doing it.
If “anti-Zionists” want to destroy Israel, or pretend that it’d be a good idea to hand over control of Israel to genuine antisemites that want us all dead, then it’s their prerogative to be as antisemitic as they want. They can drown in their antisemitism for all I care.
But as for me? I want one place – a place that’s almost six times smaller than England – where Jews can live in peace with whoever else that happens to have Jewish culture as the quiet, background norm.
And maybe part of that is selfish. Because I know that if something happens where it becomes to dangerous for me and my family to stay in the UK (although I genuinely never, ever want that to happen) we’d at least have somewhere to go where we could be safe.
So “anti-Zionists” can want whatever antisemitic thing that they want. But while I and other Jews are out here saying nothing more than, “Israel isn’t perfect but does exist and there should be peace and really, it would be the best thing to have two states,” then “anti-Zionists” have to live with their calls for ethnic cleansing and deliberate silence when Jews are attacked or murdered because “Zionism.”
I and others like me can hold our heads up high because we actually want a fair outcome and accept that when peace comes, there will be a ton of difficult compromises to be made on both sides, whilst our opponents bleat about how terrible one thing is whilst demanding that the same thing should happen to Jews because… we’re Jews. But we’re the bigots somehow.
So I’m not doing this. I am sick to the back teeth of doing this. I get it. You guys hate Jews, but you’re so full of slimy cowardice that you don’t have the balls to just come out and admit it.
I really don’t care anymore. I’ve seen it plenty of times online, I’ve seen it for years offline, I’ve had to deal with Liberal Judaism in the UK allowing antisemitic converts because “B-but it’s good to get the number of religious Jews up…!” and American Jews who are so genuinely privileged to be part of bigger communities that they’re happy to stab other Jews elsewhere in the back as long as they can fit in to “progressive” communities.
So, like I said, I’m sorry, but those kinds of people can go fuck themselves. I am not wasting another minute of my time debunking the same old bullshit constantly. I am not wasting another second repeating the same old, “Yes, I support Israel generally, but I’m not so stupid as to defend blindly and I’m going to explain very carefully why this is antisemitic so you know that I’m not just lying for the sake of lying since nobody takes antisemitism that seriously aside from Jews anyway,” sentence that I keep having to write over and over again.
I don’t care. Hate Jews on your own time. Just have the guts to admit it and don’t try to be clever by weaselling around when it’s obvious to see how transparent it all is.
