Selena nodded in agreement. “We could take her to the park? She loves the swings and tag.” She chirped our. Then she pursed her lips in thought, “Pick up some food and a couple of redbox movies, and have a movie night?” She asked looking over at him.

“Parks good, or maybe bowling? Either way, I’m sure we’ll have fun. I haven’t been on a swing in forever,” he chuckled as he got to a red light. “Sounds perfect, babe,” he nodded. "Since we have time, I just need to stop by my place real quick. That okay?” he asked her, even though he was heading there already.

As they walked she kept close to him, finding that when she was with him she could let her cautious walls down a bit, being that she could trust him to not only keep her safe but be there. She hadn’t had that in a while and now she did and she loved it. She wasn’t so wound up anymore. As she hopped in the car, keeping her head down she buckled up. “I actually have discovered the best ways to hang out with her. If we take her to do something active it tires her out so she isn’t so hyper throughout the rest of the day, which means the next activity with her has to be something more chilled like movies, or taking her out to eat, it may include her napping in car rides to keep her from being grumpy throughout the day. If we have her do something more relaxed then we have a hyper little thing that’s very talkative, then something active will make her calm down more later. ” she stated, before looking at him, “Do you want hyper then chill or chill then hyper?”

Dylan wasn’t around children often, unless you counted his best friend, Tyler a damn child, because that’s exactly how he acted but Dylan loved it.Hell, even he could be childish a majority of the time. So when Sel went on about he different ways to hang out with her little sister, he couldn’t help but chuckle a little as he drove. “I vote hyper then chill,” he nodded, “I think we could both use some hyper right now anyways,” he grinned, “maybe we’ll all end up tired out and just fall asleep watching movies?”

Selena was glad that her house was so close to her mom’s house. She often spent some time there whenever she was feeling rundown, or when they needed a sitter for Gracie. She was always a mommy’s girl, and she counted her mom as her best friend. She was excited though when Dylan came back to spend New Years with her. Messages and calls made her happy, but she still missed him. When they finally met up she was ecstatic.

Selena was happy to be out with her boyfriend and spending time with him, even with the paparazzi. While she didn’t mind them, she hated when they got too close. She lifted her phone to check the time. “Uh, in about 45 minutes.” She replied sliding it back in her pocket. She hoped that whatever they did with her sister, the paps would keep their distance. She never like them too close to her.

The pair had been going good for about 5 months and Dylan was happier than ever. They just seemed to understand each other and he loved that he could just be his dorky self with her. She seemed to have liked those qualities the best anyways, which he was grateful for. He unlocked his car doors and opened the passenger door for her, wanting her to be able to get in carefully without the papparazzi in her face. Some tried to ask questions but Dylan just stayed vague and was polite as always. He made his way to the driver’s side and hopped inside. “Cool, so we’ve got some time.” He stuck his key into the ignition and started to drive. Jeez, Hollywood traffic was terrible though. “So have you narrowed down the places we should take her?”

It was a brand new year, 2016. He had started it off just right too, having flown back from Jersey to be with his girlfriend. He had spent Christmas with his family, constantly sending Sel pictures and texts as he was away. He knew he wanted to spend New Years with her though which he did. He wanted to start off his new year with a kiss from his babe and her in his arms, no matter what they did. 

It had been day time and he had met up for lunch with Selena, a few paparazzi had taken a few pictures of them when they first arrived but he didn’t mind. He just wanted to be out with his girlfriend instead of cooped up inside, even though he didn’t mind nights in with her. They had just finished and were exiting, his hand in hers, their fingers laced as they made it back to his car. “What time did we have to pick up your little sister?” he asked.

Selena laughed, and looked at him, “At least you looked hot though. Some people look gross sweating, you are not one of those.” She stated. She rose an eyebrow, “you want me to meet them?” She questioned, looking back down. Selena knew some fans hated them because they wanted Jalena. They didn’t know the whole truth to that though. She grinned. “Dylena for the win.” She laughed, happy that she had the chance to be happy now.

Dylan shook his head, still not used to her compliments, “You’re such a dork,” he grinned. “Yeah.... if that’s okay? You don’t have to if you don’t want to. you know, if it’s like too soon. I just.. I don’t know.. I kind of talk about you a lot when they ask how I am and stuff.. and...” he was starting to ramble but he couldn’t help it. “Never mind, we can totally wait if you want,” he quickly added just wanting to shut himself up now. He nodded as he drove to his place, getting there soon enough and parking.

Selena laughed, “Well I mean running is in the title, so I would hope you expected to run.” She joked. “I am glad you are getting to see the family. Maybe I can take my family away for Christmas. Would love to put baby G in a snowsuit.” She grinned at the thought. “You need to meet her still… The whole family.” She stated, looking up at him. She laughed at the commotion on the other side of the window, saying a quick hi and looking at Dylan, squeezing his hand. She nodded and reached behind for her purse, grabbing the pen out and handing it to him. She asked how the girls were, while he signed, and the signed after him, adding a quick note of love and handed it back to him, putting her pen and purse back and grabbing his hand again.

Dylan laughed, “Well yeah, but oh my god, the sweating is so real in those scenes, but aye, at least its realistic” he admitted. “Aww, that’d be cute,” he nodded. “I want to and I want you to meet my parents and sister. I was gonna see if you maybe wanted to come during my time there. I mean, of course, when you’re not busy with your own family,  you know?” he suggested. Dylan had to admit, it still surprised him when fans liked the fact that he was dating Selena. He had seen a few of the hate comments about ‘Dylena’ but times like these built his confidence back up honestly. He signed after she did, letting them all talk as he did so, handing the napkin back through the window. He smiled again at the girls and thanked them again for being fans before driving off. He looked over at Sel, “Dylena for the win,” he blushed as he headed towards his place.

Selena fake pouted, “Well, don’t hold it against me.” She joked, “I sorta have to like fast food with how busy I am, running around all the time I never have time for real food. Thankfully I am so busy I work all the calories off or I would be huge by now.” She replied poking at her tummy. “Well thank you for spoiling me.” She grinned at him, leaning her head on his shoulder, “um, I don’t know yet. I hope not. It would be an amazing Christmas miracle to have it off… Oh maybe go somewhere snowy. I would love to ski or go sledding. I should talk to my manager about that.” She stated deep in thought.

Dylan chuckled at her words, shaking his head. He looked over at her as she spoke and poked her tummy, “Same for me, I thank filming the Maze Runner though. So much running,” he said dramatically and chuckled. He smiled over at her as she answered his question, pulling up to the window to pay. “I’m going to New Jersey for a few days to visit my family,” he said. The person taking his money instantly recognizing him and her, their eyes widening. ‘y-you’re.....and you’re..... ‘ she took the money slowly and squealed calling their coworker over, blushing heavily, ‘Dylena is so real,’ she tried to say quietly but it was loud enough for the pair to hear. Dylan chuckled and waved at both, “Hellooo,” he looked over at Sel and chuckled. He was eventually handed back his change and food. ‘I’m such a big fan of both of yours, oh my god. Can you guys sign my.....’ the girl looked around and grabbed a taco bell napkin, ‘this?’ she handed it to him. After Dyl had put the bags of food down next to Sel’s feet, he had grabbed the napkin from the girl, “Oh really? Thanks, that means so much, really. Sure!,” he replied happily. “Babe, do you have something to write with?” he asked as he looked over at Sel.

Selena nodded, “Done and done. Only the best toys for my five year old boyfriend ” Selena made a face at her words, “Dear God I sound creepy. Please forget I ever said that!” She laughed. She nodded enthusiastically, “Awe, you know my usual. You are amazing. Yes please, thank you.” She smiled and kissed his hand. “I love you lots. You spoil me with fast food. I love it.” She grinned.

Dylan couldn’t help but chuckle at her words, “Nope, its locked into the memory  bank now, can’t take it back,” he joked. He smiled at her, “Of course I do, I’m just happy you like fast food,” he said with a nod as he ordered their food, hers first then his own. “I spoil you with whatever you let me spoil you with,” he smiled as he pulled up, not yet at the window yet. “Are you going away for Christmas or anything?” he asked.

Selena laughed, “You have been caught. No pleading you already lost.” She banged her hand on the dash pretending to have a gavel. Selena looked at him and fake pouted, “Sorry babe, but I didn’t get the McDonald’s, one of the workers did and gave me some. I will remember for next time though, promise.” She nodded, and made a mental note to get one tomorrow. She held his hand back, and smiled happily at him, “Si!” She cried out grinning.

Dylan chuckled at her words and actions, shaking his head as he drove towards the nearest Taco Bell. “Okay, thank you. Only if they have awesome toys though, like they do now. I don’t know why I like decorating my trailer’s with random toys. I’m like a 5 year old sometimes, I swear,” he chuckled. He finally got to the drive thru, “do you want the same thing you ordered last time?” he asked before they got to the ordering part.
