✣ ► People have always liked a girl with an edge. A girl that can be pretty and nice and tall and innocent looking, but secretly (or not so secretly) has a little too much fun on the side. Someone reckless at night time, like the sun makes them glow but the moon finally casts the shadow of mischief. It makes the girl sexier, more appealing, less boring, and exciting. Has she ever been that girl? No. Does she want to be? She’s not sure.
✣ ► Innocence has never been something she’s strived for.. Suji doesn’t have some holy philosophy that she believes in her heart to be true, nothing holding her back from being that wild and intense woman that is so appealing to others. Her personality was one for hard work and no-nonsense. When she focused on something, nothing else could get in her field of view. It also helped that she felt somewhat invisible. No one saw her, no one payed attention unless she was on stage. She’s always lived that way; she stood out in the bright of day light but no one paid that much attention.
✣ ► It was far easier that way, anyhow. No distractions to carry her away from what her destiny would be. A ballerina to mark the history books, if history books ever wrote about ballet. She wanted to make a difference in her field, but not a difference in the world. Perhaps her sport wasn’t going to change anyone’s life or stop global warming, create peace between the Koreas or even have someone fall in love with her. Nevertheless, it was important to her--No, the most important thing to her.
✣ ► Becoming that woman of the night, that fun girl, the one that danced not on her toes but with her behind, that will probably never be her. She has no desire to do that, to be that girl. It’s doubtful that anyone will ever push her towards that side of her--if it even exists. Maybe it’s why she’s never been in a relationship. Maybe it’s why she hasn’t even reached the milestones that most females reach in their teenage years. 21 years old, her lack of experience must be embarrassing.
✣ ► Suji didn’t have anyone to be embarrassed in front of, anyway. Who knew? Who would ask? Who would care? Who could see her anyway? Invisible in plain sight, that was her forte on the day to day. Only on stage does anyone ever notice her, and that’s when she wants to. That was the key, then. Maybe the only way someone would see her is if she actually wanted them too.
✣ ► But she likes to live where she’s hidden. No distractions, no excuses. There’s no reason not to reach her dreams. Being that wild girl won’t get her there. Her blood, sweat, and tears? Just the minimum requirement to get by. It’ll take more than that. Whatever it takes, she will go there.
