Fanart of the new adult swim show, Ballmastrz 9009! It’s like a sports anime through the lens of Superjail creator Christy Karacas, so it’s insane as hell but I love every second of it, especially those action sequences!

*a holo-news ball floats up to Gaz* Hey! Team captain! Got time for an interview? Our viewers are hungry for the inside scoop!

Gaz groans loudly, putting her large sunglasses on to hide her hungover complexion as she leaned in her doorway. “Neyyy, goddamit… Why do ya bastards always show up at such assy times.” she took a swig from her flask, belching. “Hurry up and ask ya bullshit before i feel myself sober up.”

“No problem! This will only take a few moments of your…”

The camera lens focuses on the flask for a moment.

“…’valuable’…time!  Gaz. the Leptons have yet to win a game. As captain, what are your plans to get your team to the top, or, in a more statistically possible sense, the lower middle?”  The ball bobs in the air eagerly, recorder whirring.

She hawks and spits on the ground, chuckling to herself as she tilts her head back and staggers to a better position. “Heh, those crum-bums are the ones holding us back. I know what I’m doin’ I’m a champ at this damn game.” she groans, taking another swig. “They just gotta get their shit together is what I’m sayin.”

“Hmm…I see…”

The camera-ball moves several feet back, out of Gaz’s reach.

“But, Gaz, a recent editorial in Game Weekly claims that the recent addition of ‘Ballmastr’ to the Lepton lineup would have won the team multiple matches already if not for  ‘incompetent leadership by a booze-soaked embarrassment to the Game who’d rather spend her time sleeping her way across Ulsa Guerin than training,’ and, well, I won’t quote the whole thing, but after that it just criticizes your weight for eight paragraphs. How would you respond to these scorching charges, bearing in mind that I’m just quoting someone else and any damage to this recorder will result in financial liability to NewsBlurpCorp?”

Growled, taking a step toward the camera before suddenly Ace, Dee dee and Leto came up from behind her to hold her back. “Why you ball of shit, I outta toss you across this crap hole of a city and into the stink holes!” She tried reaching for the camera ball again as the others tried to pull her back in the doorway. They knew they all couldn’t afford another reporter ball smashed by her as they were already in major debt to her destruction. “Ya Damn lucky I got these bozos holding me back!” She knew the ball was just repeating what the papers said, but never the less, her anger about her ‘short comings’ being shoved in her face, put her in a rather destructive mood.

“Please, try to calm down just a teeny bit,” Dee Dee said soothingly, holding Gaz’s arm.  “The news already makes fun of us for losing and we don’t need them MAKING FUN OF US FOR HAVING A PSYCHO CAPTAIN TOO!”--the last part in a much louder and angrier voice, her fingers tightening around Gaz’s arm and flecks of spittle flying from her mouth.

“Yeah...” Leto mumbles. “Anger is but a hawk’s cry, which pierces the air and yet fades to nothingness...”

“Ohhh,” Dee Dee says, softening. “That’s so deep!”

All the while, the news ball eagerly records the teammates struggling for use in future broadcasts. Ace looks and it and tries to manage a smile. “E-everything’s okay here! We’re--just getting fired up for our next game!” He turns to Gaz. “You can’t let those meanies on the holo-news get to you, Gaz. Your team thinks you’re great, and isn’t that what’s really important?”
